The property is beautiful and remarkably decorated. It looks like something out of Architectural Digest. My wife is a design junkie, and walked through the house like it was an art exhibit, taking in each piece throughout. I'm a little stunned that they let random strangers from the internet stay in such a beautiful place. The pictures don't do it justice. It really is spectacular.
Getting into the property was an abject disaster, however. The door code was not properly communicated, and then when it finally was, the alarm was set and there was no code for that, either. So we got to meet Baton Rouge's finest while the alarm blared. VRBO customer service was unhelpful and frustrating, and the property owner was out of pocket and unable to help. After about 90 minutes, we were able to get it figured out but by that time had missed an event we were supposed to attend. The property manager did make it right with us, and was very apologetic and couldn't have been nicer once we were able to connect. It was just one of those circumstances where all of the stars lined up to create a mess. Such is life.
Regardless, I can't recommend the property enough. Despite all of the screwups, my wife is insistent that when we go back to Baton Rouge we stay there again.
