About this property
Private Luxury Compound on the Gull Lake Chain with Theater, Tennis, Sauna, Hot Tub (25+ pp.)
True North in Nisswa is a great place for family reunions & group retreats. It sits on Roy Lake (Gull Lake chain) with 4 buildings across 5 acres. There are 9 bedrooms (14 beds), 9 bathrooms, tennis court, gym, 2 porches, 3 decks, outdoor sauna & hot tub, walking trail, fire pit, 32-ft dock, and more. 1 mile from downtown Nisswa, the Paul Bunyan Trail, shops, restaurants, & family activities. Buildings are professionally cleaned. NOTE: Certain times of year require 5-7 night min stay.
This is a very unique place -- a true north experience with all the amenities needed for an upscale 21st century retreat. You have the woods and the water -- combined with indoor and outdoor entertainment options for all kinds of weather. You can come together in common spaces to play games, watch movies and eat -- or find your own quiet place to read, workout, or just relax. You're also very close the classy town of Nisswa and local events, activities and one-of-a-kind experiences like visiting historic Grandview Lodge, eating at Zorbaz on Gull, riding down the Paul Bunyon Trail, tubing at Ski Gull, trying the Minnesota zip line, horseback riding at Outback Ranch, hiking in Pillsbury State Forrest and much, much more.
You'll have access to all the living quarters and entertainment areas in all three buildings, as well as the 4 1/2 acres of woods and walking trail, fire pits, and outdoor facilities. Off limits, however, will be the five garages, the boats and other watercraft. If it's summer and you want to use the dock, that can be arranged.
Anyone who wants to stay at True North and use all three buildings will have us available 24-hrs a day to help with anything you need.
Our place is on Roy Lake on the Gull Lake Chain of Lakes. There are some incredible year-round homes, as well as seasonal cabins...and is one of the closest streets to downtown Nisswa (less than a mile) that's on the Gull Lake chain. Downtown Nisswa has unique shops and fun places to eat (like Raffertys, A&W, Ye Olde Pickel Factory, Big Axe micro-brewery, Adirondack coffee and others). Winter hours for most places are a little scaled back, but summer hours are wide open. Grocery shopping is best at Schafer's (about 5-7 min drive) or you can go to Super Valu in Pequot Lakes (about 7-8 minute drive). Other great places to eat or visit in the area that are 5-15 minute drive like Grandview Lodge, the Pines Golf Course, Zorbaz, Bar Harbor Supper Club, Lost Lake Lodge, Sherwood Forest and a bunch of others. Craguns, Maddens and other resorts on Gull Lake with pools, tennis, golf, etc. are about a 20 minute drive on the west/south shores of Gull Lake.
NOTE: Bachelor and bachelorette parties are not allowed.
- Pets are only allowed in the Clubhouse and the Little Cabin. They're not allowed in the "spa area" of the Clubhouse (exercise/stretching room, sauna, hot tub) or anywhere in the Lodge House. There's a one-time $100 pet fee.
- All guests are responsible for signing release forms when planning to use any of the exercise equipment, hot tub, sauna, playing tennis or do any swimming. Forms provided on site.
