The neighborhood is family friendly, made up of families and retirees. Excellent to walk or bike. We are close to many beaches, restaurants, grocery stores. TurtleTime is close enough to see the Blue Angels practicing on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from the front porch or we are only 8 miles from the National Aviation Museum and Corry Station for aviation enthusiasts. Two Boat ramps are within 10 minute drive for Predido Bay or the Bayou Grande, a 5 minute drive to a non-motrized ramps for kayaks.
Beaches
Where’s the Beach? Travel time to any beaches depends on what time you are going. The early bird gets the worm, is a saying that goes for any attraction in the summer.
Johnson Beach is a great family beach, clean restrooms which is 10 miles from the house, which has a fee of $8 per visit or $25 for a season pass which is also valid at other National Seashore locations like Fort Pickens, Opal Beach, Fort Mcree.
10 miles to Predido Key Beach has beautiful beaches turn offs for parking along the way towards the famous FloraBama. Lots of touristy things to see and do along the way.
10.9 miles to Pensacola Naval Complex Beach “Great place to get away from public crowds if you are military.
12 miles to Bruce Beach Park. New and phase 1 opened spring 2024. Scenic overview, trails and kayaking.
20 miles to Pensacola Beach, a must see, free parking at the Pensacola Big beach ball, walk to restaurants and shops.
21 miles to Fort Pickens is down the road from Pensacola Beach and has a fee to go in and is reciprocal with Johnson Beach, worth paying the $25 and visit both.
