"Aquahela" is a secluded cottage located on the beautiful Pemaquid Point Peninsula. Relax and enjoy a rare opportunity to experience both crashing surf and a white sandy beach just one step from the cottage. If you are looking for privacy, with only sounds of the ocean and seagulls, then look no further!

Cozy loft with full bed works for child. 5'6" to peak.
Relax on the deck overlooking the ocean and several islands as the sailboats drift by.
Aquahela Cottage faces west thus affording you the warm afternoon sun and glorious sunsets. Enjoy your dinner watching the sun go down over the landscape of John's Bay.
This a a true "Get away from it all' location yet close to all amenities and nearby New Harbor, Damariscotta, Christmas Cove, Boothbay Harbor and many more charming Maine villages.
Please note that rental is from Saturday to Saturday.
Try to fit in a day visiting the magical Monhegan Island just across Muscongus Bay. Daily ferry service on the Hardy Boat Cruise.
The famous Pemaquid Point Lighthouse is a part of our local history, be sure to visit and see one of the most painted and photographed lighthouses in Maine.
Fort William Henry and the Colonial Pemaquid State Historic Site are close by for history buffs and for golfers, we have the nine hole Wawenock Golf Club nearby.
Enjoy relaxed dining at the many local restaurants that offer the freshest seafood possible.
Local lobster pounds minutes from cottage. They will steam for you or bring them back and cook at the cottage.
Boating, fishing, kayaking are all available too and we can help with all your reservations and day trips.

Heaven on earth
This is the fourth time we have stayed at this cottage. If you are like my husband and me and enjoy the sound of waves, the ocean breezes and peace and quiet, this is the place for you. It is always immaculate and everything you could ever need is provided. I love to cook and the kitchen is user-friendly and is well-equipped. If you are looking for a location where the stress of every day life just melts away, this is the place for you!

Beautiful location, really enjoyed the stay. The stairs are a challenge especially with no landing at the top. Didn't receive any notification about check-in and I got no answer when I called but when I checked the door was unlocked and keys were on the table. Everything was very clean and the kitchen was well equipped.

Best Location
This is the best place we have ever stayed in on the coast of Maine. It was cozy, secluded and had the best view to wake up to every morning. Everything we may have needed was provided. We loved it!

So serene
The view alone here will cure any problem you have. So relaxing, so peaceful, so quiet. I like to cook and the kitchen was fine for all my needs. Also, there are restaurants nearby ( driving).

Amazing property!!
Aquahela is the perfect cottage on the coast of Maine! The views are amazing and the house is well equipped with everything you could need. The location couldn’t be better…private yet close to the lighthouse, grocery store, lobster pounds & restaurants. We had a hard time leaving the property during our stay because we enjoyed watching the water, the tides, the birds…and collecting special treasures on the beach. So restful and so much fun…we will definitely be repeat visitors.

Perfect Family Vacation
Wow!! This was by far the best first Maine vacation we could have ever asked for. The cottage was absolutely perfect! It had everything we needed for a week away. Our 6-year-old daughter loved the loft bedroom. And we all loved the private beach every morning and every night. Breakfasts on the deck overlooking the water were such a great way to start the day. Thank you for sharing your home with us while we enjoyed a slice of Maine for the week! We really couldn’t have had a better experience!!

This is the third year that my husband and I have stayed in this cottage. If you enjoy serenity, this is the place for you. The location and the views could not be better. It is immaculate, warm, cozy and comfortable. Mark is extremely easy to communicate with. We can’t wait to come back next year!

Wonderful property!
We enjoyed ourselves so much in May we came back for a second stay this year! Wonderful property! Great location on the bay. Close to the lighthouse, restaurants, and market…but quiet and private. Has all the amenities and extras one could need. Owner/host easy to communicate with. The high point of our stay were the three eagles that fished out front almost daily. It was thrilling to see them so close. We will certainly be back!!

Beautiful views
The views of the ocean were spectacular. House was very clean. Location was great as well. There was a little work outside next door for 2 days with a tractor/backhoe which drowned out the waves, but not terrible. We were disappointed that there were no binoculars for us to use, like the description and picture showed. Maybe that just needs to be updated on the description. All in all, this is a beautiful property.

Beautiful location.
Beautiful location. Private. Quiet. No traffic noise. Set very far back from the road. Charming cottage - LOVE the stunning, hand-painted murals. Someone is a very talented artist. Nice wildflowers. Excellent book selection, very nice nautical maps and art. Perfect for two adults (and one small child). Nice furnishings. We suggest installing a longer sofa so guests can stretch out to read or watch ocean. Recommend guests park a lounge chair in the afternoon shade by the balsam tree and enjoy the view. Thank you.

A second glorious stay on the coast
This is our second time at Aquahela. The house is lovely, small, good for a couple but can accommodate a child in the loft space bedroom. It's right on the water and quite private. We love walking on the rocky beach just below the house, watching the tides change, the sunsets, cormorants, loons, and one day a great blue heron. More: Canoeing on the river with River Mist Kayaks (Ron is a delight), hiking at La Verna Preserve, exploring the Rachel Carson Preserve, eating ice cream at Round Top in Damariscotta, walking to the lighthouse...we just needed another week, which we booked for next summer. Our only disappointment was that one of the two decks was removed, which makes for a less expansive feel. It may be because of zoning issues...

Peaceful and beautiful
My husband and I stayed a second time at Pemaquid Point and enjoyed it just as much as the first time. The cottage is very charming and peaceful, with excellent ocean views from the various rooms in the cottage and also from the deck. Nature abounds all around the cottage, from songbirds, to eagles and loons, to butterflies and fall foliage (our stay was in early October). The serene and private setting enabled us to enjoy a perfect retreat from our typically hectic, overly busy lives. We were sad to leave when our time was up, but felt very refreshed after our stay. Mark, the property owner is very communicative and easy to contact, as well.

Heaven on earth!
If you are looking for an absolutely gorgeous setting and total relaxation, this is the property for you. Besides being comfy, it is immaculate. I love to cook and the kitchen is equipped with everything that is needed, and then some! Mark, the owner, is responsive should you need anything. I’m presently suffering withdrawal from an amazing week. Being back to reality is painful!
