About this property
Charming 3-bedroom cottage on quiet country road near adorable Catskill
Forget your worries in this serene, charming cottage located in the countryside just 12 minutes from village of Catskill. In summer, wake up to fresh air, and have your morning coffee on the patio while listening to birdsong. Or you might walk up the country road to the pond carpeted in lily pads and watched over by the great blue heron. There you may see a beaver, eagle, or hear an owl during the night. Relax in the cozy living space, reading poetry or romantasy novels, or drive up-mountain to Platte Clove road, where you can hike up the famous Devil's Path. Any number of quaint villages are within a half hour's drive or less:-Catskill, Saugerties, Woodstock, Hudson, Tannersville and Hunter. Close to skiing, antiquing, hiking, arts, sightseeing, family fun, and delicious food, this is the perfect place to unwind and recharge.
With 3 bedrooms, this is the perfect place for a family or a group of friends. At the same time, while it isn't a Tiny House, it is cozy enough for just 2 people if you want a romantic secluded getaway.
The first floor of the house has a recently renovated kitchen, complete with all implements you need for cooking meals. there's an electric stovetop, microwave, dishwasher and fridge, and quartz countertops and french press. The living and dining room are also on this level, as well as a bedroom with a queen bed. Just outside the bedroom is the cottage style bathroom. Sunlight floods the entire house. The big windows in the kitchen sunroom give a view of trees and forest, and open onto the patio, with a view of the back garden and hillside. This floor is heated and cooled centrally.
The second floor of the house has two bedrooms with a full side bed in each. One has an antique writing desk, both have closets. Between them is the just renovated marble bathroom with gold accents and a rain shower. Towels and shampoo are provided, and there is a hair dryer and clothes iron. Both rooms have air conditioners with remote controls, and baseboard heating. The blue room is bright and soothing, overlooking the tall maple and oak behind the house, and the Princess room is very sunny, and faces the marsh across the way. On a clear night, you can see stars from the bed in the princess room and the downstairs bedroom.
The kitchen has large windows that face to the back. Next to the kitchen you can walk out to the deck, which is shady when needed, thanks to the awning. There are teak chairs and a side table, and iron chairs and a table. It's a sheltered place to sit, especially in the morning, listening to the wind through the wind chimes, or watch the hummingbird sip from the hostas and rose of sharon blossoms beside the deck.
Great internet connection and lots of space if you need to work from home during your stay.
There is one outdoor security camera.

About the host
Hosted by Judith Berger
Brooklyn native, Writer, herbalist, long time hiker, I've loved the catskills for as long as I can remember, and have experienced their beauty and wildness for decades--sleeping outdoors, and then as a guest in people's homes. I found my own home and now I have an opportunity to share it with you so that you can experience the nature and culture that the catskills has to offer, while based in my quiet, tranquil, eco-friendly space.
Why they chose this property
I love that everywhere you look there is green--a hillside, marshland, and the sound of birds. A short walk up the road leads to a pond and waterfall, yet I'm never more than 15 minutes away from villages and towns, and a short drive up to the steeper mountains I love to hike and snowshoe.
What makes this property unique
What makes my property unique is that it feels like an oasis. It is decorated with beauty and comfort in mind. Truly an escape from the whirl of city life.
