The owners of The Ridgway Retreat are two Texas based families. What started as a dream about a way to beat the Texas heat and enjoy the mountains during the summer months became a reality during a road trip several years ago when one of the families was driving through and stopped for dinner at a local restaurant. After dinner and a charming stroll through Hartwell Park the deal was sealed. It was love at first sight. The remainder of the road trip was canceled as we stayed to scope out the area. Ridgway met all of the things we were looking for in a vacation home and then some! So welcome to our little slice of heaven which is a true retreat for our families, as we hope it is for yours.
Why they chose this property
The Ridgway retreat has all the luxuries of home. From the linens to the appliances, no expense was spared. The lodging is perfect for multiple families, large families, and group vacations, as it sleeps (13) people in beds. The retreat has four separate bedrooms, two of which can comfortably sleep (4-5) people. Centralized location to dining and outdoor activities and local festivities.

With nearly 300 days of sunshine and no other homes in your sight line, you can enjoy a unique view of where the Cimmaron and San Juan Mountain ranges meet. And it isn’t just picturesque during the day as it offers an unparalleled night sky view, as Ridgway is a designated Dark Sky Community by the International Dark-Sky Association. It was the third community in Colorado to be given this unique honor due to its lack of light pollution, which allows night skies to be viewed in great detail.
