Guest Access:
Guests will have fully private access to this garden level 1-bedroom apartment that comfortable accommodates up to four people.
The Neighborhood:
The apartment is in a home on a quiet tree-lined street, while still being close to all the upbeat action of Adams Morgan. Adams Morgan is a vibrant neighborhood in DC with restaurants and cafes in a very walkable setting. We are adjacent to Rock Creek Park, one of the first National Parks in the United States which has miles of running and bike paths. The neighborhood is adjacent the National Zoo, which is free to all as are all Smithsonian Institutions in DC.
It's a multicultural neighborhood centered on the happening nightlife scene around 18th Street. Brick row houses, some brightly painted or featuring quirky murals, are home to independent bookstores, artisan cafes, vintage clothing shops and yoga studios.
There are great restaurants, music venues, and dining experiences. Tail Up Goat right off of Calvert Street on Adams Mill Road is a delicious modern Mediterranean-inspired neighborhood restaurant with creative and memorable cocktails (and a Michelin Star). Johnny's Half Shelf was a Capitol Hill classic that recently moved onto Columbia Road. One of our favorites is Reveler's Hour, as well as Andy's Pizza on 18th Street.
In the summer, the roof deck at Perry's or Jack Rose (further down 18th Street) are great spots too. No matter what you like to eat Adams Morgan has it.
If you are looking for a chill coffee house, Tryst is your place. Lots of grad students and people working remotely hang out and enjoy the wi-fi and couches. Rise Bakery is a morning go-to for Gluten-Free bagel, croissants, and treats that won't make you miss the gluten. There is also a Starbucks at the corner of 18th and Columbia if that's your addiction.
Adams Morgan's reputation a decade ago for mostly for its nightlife but it is more family-friendly than many realize. A fabulous park is at the top of the street with all new playground equipment. In the summer the park is full with picnickers hanging out and enjoying the day.

Getting Around:
This is a highly walkable neighborhood with close bus stops and Metro-rail access!
♢ 10-min walk from Columbia Heights METRO-rail (Green Line), and Woodley Park - Zoo station is in the other direction, about a 15-min walk (Red Line). Both will take you to the museums, central business district or an easy transforer to the lines to the airport.
♢ We are steps from the 42 or the 43 bus, which go right to the White House.
♢ Some of our neighborhood favorites:
We like to go to Mt Pleasant a 5 minute walk to get to Beau Thai, Mother Dear for pizza or Ercilla's for Papusas. Also great ice cream at Mt Desert Ice cream.
We also go to 18th street/Columbia Rd for any meal at Tryst or The Diner, BBQ at Federalist Pig, afghani at Lapis or ice cream at Van Leuven. Also great is Pitango for coffee, desert and a lovely space to set up and work close by.
My favorite part of the neighborhood is Rock Creek Park, biking along the paths all the way to the Potomac river and beyond.
Other Things to Note:
My family lives upstairs from the unit, where we also will be respecting our guests peace by adhering to the quiet hour rules ourselves, and appreciate it when our guests do the same :) My sons both are on swim teams and get up very early. Additionally, I work from home.
We have a dog who stays upstairs on the deck - and as we do not know how she would interact with other animals that she does not know, we ask that our guests do not bring any pets of their own to the home.
Interaction with Guests:
While we offer self contact-less check-in for your convenience, we are only ever a message away should you need anything at all during your stay.
