The Carolina Dunes is located in the prestigious Golden Mile section of Myrtle Beach, known for being centrally located to all the Myrtle Beach attractions, shopping, restaurants, entertainment and within walking distance of two restaurants, a bar and Starbucks! The Carolina Dunes also offers a Large outdoor pool and sunning deck with tables, umbrellas and chairs kiddie pool, courtyard, private walkway to the beach, outdoor showers, lobby, luggage carts, free wifi and onsite parking.

LOVED IT

This condo was everything our family could ask for. The building was a perfect size so no fitting for parking or waiting on elevators. Lobby area was always kept clean. It was a great location within a few minute drive to all the attractions without much traffic. Condo for our party of 5 fit nicely. All rooms a perfect size. Overall a great first time experience to Myrtle Beach for our family.

Bedrooms could use a fresh coat of paint.Master shower needs an update ASAP, and it takes 10 minutes or more to get hot water. A recommendation would be to have a list of items in the unit and there location in the unit i.e beach chairs etc.Wouldn’t take much to make this a great rental

Tough to enjoy pool time. Multiple times unruly children took control of pool area. Not supervised. Elevators would have all floors pushed causing issues. Everything else was fantastic. View was beautiful.

OK- but definitely needs some work

I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My third stay at Carolina Dunes. I love the ease of the checkin process and where the resort is located. I also like that it’s smaller, easy to park, easy to grab the elevator. My first year I was pleasantly surprised by how nice the unit was inside, as the outside leaves a lot to be desired. And, it was clean! It’s noticeable that the unit is going downhill and needs some work. Master shower is full of mold, the vents are filthy and rusting, paint is chipping off the walls. These aren’t issues you can just call maintenance for and they’ll fix it, the unit 606 really needs some work. I’ll probably give it another chance next year for the reasons stated above, but if it’s not better at that time I’ll probably elect to stay somewhere else.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The condo is just as pictured. It was updated, nicely decorated and clean. The kitchen was stocked with anything you'd need. The pool area cute and uncrowded during our stay. We enjoyed our time here and would return. A couple things would put it over the top...a Keurig coffee maker; clean the sofas and area rug in living room, they are showing some soil and wear and more comfortable king mattress, it is quite hard.

Great place

As a family of 5 the accommodations and location were perfect. Easy booking, quick responses and communication with host. Only negatives: the master bath shower is small, outdated and not easy to use for a big and tall person. The other negative was entrance into the condo…the outdoor carpet stayed wet the whole time we were there (no rain during our stay). Reached out a few times to the host but problem didn’t get resolved. We just kept a towel the entry floor so that we could remove our shoes instead of tracking the wet inside. Overall, we would stay there again as it was a great place!

Reviewer Comments: The dryer didn't dry ,the washer was filthy, the vent in kitchen was black looked like mold, the bed in front rooms mattress cover was filthy and there was no way they didn't see it when they made the bedwetting didn't see it until we were stripping the bed. The tub went down really slow. For the money our family spent on this rental it wasn't worth it.

We loved enjoying the morning and evening overlooking the ocean on the porch. We had breakfast out there too which was so nice. This space matched the description online. The tile floors and marble countertops were a very nice upgrade. The vacation/ocean vibe with the decorations made us feel very relaxed. The furniture and beds were comfortable. Being able to do our laundry in the condo was so helpful too! Customer service was wonderful, although we didn't need anything. I would highly recommend this property to friends and family. Our favorite restaurant was called Manta. We loved the hibachi and sushi! Boogie boarding was my family's favorite daily activity. We loved that there were beach chairs and sand toys provided also. Walmart is very close by if you want to cook in the condo. There were plenty of pots, pans and dishes. Having a dishwasher was wonderful too. My older son also found a gym to workout at every day called Pump House. We loved having a space in the parking lot for us too. This week for us was so relaxing and very enjoyable! We would definitely go back and book this space again.

The place had gone downhill

We stayed in this same unit in May 2018 and had a great experience. We were expecting the same quality. The condo is nice but unclean. The rug in the living room is disgusting and had chips and salsa on it. The blankets on the bed were worn with stains. The washing machine made us gag with the goopy hair balls and mildew. There was poop, yes literal poop on the baseboard in the bathroom. The entire unit stunk from the dishwasher. All of the dishes were dirty. One of the beds had a stain on the mattress pad. The door to the utility closet fell completely off every time you tried to open or close it. The vacuum cleaner wouldn't turn on. It was a frustrating experience altogether.

CONS: The luxury the condo once had, has not been maintained: Uncomfortable Couches - Sink-into rather than sit-on Beds - 2 sink way down Dirty baseboards, wall trims and air vents Chipped glasses and plates Dull 30W lighting in living room and bedrooms so can’t read Walls chipped and marked Full vacuum cleaner upon arrival Sporadic crapping noises of chairs from unit above Car Park – Foot-wide pool of pigeon droppings by assigned space and water dripped from above No Recycling of plastics/glass etc. Seemed like solely a rental property so we wondered when the last time someone walked through or inspected it? PROS Great view Large rooms Quiet clean beach / pool area Easy access to venues such as restaurants and stores Lots of kitchen appliances Seemed like a safe neighbourhood area for daily walks Rental Company Poor communication: no one checks to see how your stay is going 2/4 employees unable to answer questions No notice of when pest control was coming for monthly spray; asked several times and was told week of, but not the day. Parking pass noted 1-week rather than 25 night stay
