Dreamcatcher

The mountain areas NC are known for the many beautiful arts and crafts style homes. Welcome to your home away from home, it has a cozy feel while reflecting the added care and detail that home builders of the past took great pains to incorporate in their one of kind homes.
Our home was built in 1925 and has just gone thru a complete renovation. New electric, plumbing, kitchen, bathrooms, and all new appliances. While the renovations were extensive the goal was to keep the old fashion charm of this beautiful home. The bedrooms have new mattress with new bedding/towels. The bathrooms have the comfort of an old fashion claw foot tub for a wonderful bath. This house is on a very quiet street with its own private driveway. I have just added a brand new flat screen television with VGA connection to your laptop for many internet programs.
Location is what matters, my home is minutes away either by car or a short walk to the River Art District and the Biltmore Estates. These areas are the hub of art studios, galleries, restaurants, cafes, theaters, and music venue. Please contact me for special offers and any other accommodations to your schedule.

I'd stay again!
The listing description was exactly what we found upon arrival. Location was great. The house was very clean and well maintained. The owner was helpful with questions and left a book of information which was also extremely helpful including recommendations for restaurants. Weather permitting, there are several places to eat within a good walking distance. I would recommend this property and I would stay again.

A fun Birthday trip!
This is a very unique house and my college friend and I enjoyed our three night stay in Asheville. I was in the king sized bed, which was a good choice as my window coverings let in light and I am a morning person. My friend's front bedroom dark shades allowed her to continue snoozing. The attention to detail to preserve the older wooden bedroom doors reminded me of my senior year college apartment (from the late 60's). However, the brand new kitchen was definitely modern and spacious. I enjoyed using it. The bird feeder kept me constantly watching all the cardinals and blue jays that happened by. It was unseasonably cool during our visit in mid-May, so didn't get a chance to sit outside. The house is set in a very interesting diverse neighborhood. I am from Miami and my friend from Augusta, GA and we found the neighbors friendly as I waved good morning as we were both putting trash out. A former Catholic School two doors down was purchased in the early 1970's by a church whose own building burned down. It was a great story to read on the internet. The building fascinated me with its classic statues of Saint Anthony Padu. We found Trader Joe's through town across the Interstate which I loved. My friend preferred the VERY nice Harris Teeter Grocery store next door. Between the two we found things for a light supper the evenings we didn't eat out. We enjoyed walking around downtown. The Ten Thousand Villages was very intriguing with crafts made around the globe and I bought several items for gifts. Of course the Biltmore was fabulous and the next day we had fun rummaging around the Antique Tobacco Barn. Found some "treasures" we couldn't resist. Thanks for a lovely introduction to Asheville through living in a very fun house. I bet its history is also interesting.

Update, clean, quiet home
We enjoyed the house, it was just as advertised, well stocked, very clean and quiet. The home was larger than I expected, the room off the back with the futon served as a third bedroom. Nice house, long walk downtown but Uber is only about $6, so it all worked out well. Great weekend for our family & friend.

Artistic Craftsman in Quiet Neighborhood
We stayed in Ana's home for 6 nights for our vacation and to attend an art workshop. Both Ana and Vickie were very accommodating to my personal request. The home was clean with a minimalist, artsy vibe. The kitchen had all the items necessary to cook and serve meals - all the way down to the wine corks. The front porch and back deck both had comfortable seating to enjoy coffee, wine or any drink of choice. Bird feeder and food provided so you can enjoy the many birds who frequent the deck. The mattress on the king bed was firm and so comfortable. This home was perfect for me to unwind, meditate and rejuvenate. I walked to both the River Arts District and downtown on many occasions. Both areas were in short walking distance with downtown being the farthest (approximately two miles). The routes I walked seem to be very safe and all had sidewalks for easy travel. West Asheville and downtown both have so many choices on food and activities that you will never be bored. The homeowner provided a magazine that references the best of everything that Western North Carolina (WNC) has to offer. I definitely would stay here again - I would even let Ana adopt me. :-)

clean and charming remodel
We stayed in Asheville for a 6 night girls getaway. We were impressed with the remodel - everything was clean and the minimalist style suited us. The location was good and the street was quiet. We really enjoyed the birds that visited the backyard. We didn't cook as there are so many great restaurants in Asheville. We especially liked Limones and Chestnut in Downtown Asheville.

Perfect Place
House was clean and comfortable. Had all the necessary things to cook meals at the house if you wanted to. Front porch and back deck were perfect places to enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning or a glass of wine in the evening. Short walk to River Arts district, just under 2 miles to downtown and about the same to the main entrance of the Biltmore Estate. Entrance to Blue Ridge Parkway was not far away also. We would stay here again.

Great House!
Booked house for a quick weekend for my wife and a few of her friends to get away. The adjectives that I heard about the home when they got back were: amazing, comfortable, relaxing, close to everything. So while I can't personally give my opinion of the place, my better half and her 3 friends would definitely vouch for the place. What I can say is that the owner was very accommodating to allowing an early check-in. She kept us informed of everything we needed to know well before arrival and then followed up a couple days before to make sure we didn't need anything. So if I ever get up that way, I know where I'm going to try and lay my head.

Beautifully renovated
The house was clean, and comfortable with gorgeous hard wood floors. Due to our many dietary restrictions, we did a lot of cooking in the kitchen - it was great! Traveling with children, it was convenient to have a waasher/dryer. Everything was in excellent order. The only drawback was the neighborhood. We'd imagined it a little more welcoming for walking around. We had no problems with any neighbors, but the surrounding blocks were a bit sketchy.

Lovely!
This home is so lovely! I love the arts and crafts style homes. The architectural details and the way the home is decorated are wonderful! We enjoyed being so close to the River Arts District, Biltmore, and downtown Asheville. It was fun to pretend for a few days that we are Asheville residents! The house, including the kitchen, is fully appointed, making it easy to feel right at home!

Perfect home for picky people who love a historic home.
The pictures do not do this house justice. It is so nice and relaxing-I loved it as soon as we pulled up. Five minute drive to downtown. Charming historic house-has everything you may need to be very comfortable. Sitting and relaxing on the front porch was a treat.

Reunion with friends
We had a wonderful time staying at this house. It was clean and obviously well maintained. The house is conveniently located and close to the River Arts District, downtown, and all the many restaurants we tried while we were there. It also has a great patio where we enjoyed the beautiful weather and catching up with old friends.

Fantastic Location, quiet and close to everything!!
The house is on a quiet street in the River Arts District. This area has many galleries and really good restaurants. The house has very comfortable beds, a full kitchen, wi-fi, and tv. Enjoyed the rear deck for watching birds in the morning and fireflies at night. Sat on the front porch eating breakfast and listening to bird songs. Ana was very easy to communicate with and has a house manual for any additional information about the house and great hiking spots.

Very comfortable and handy location
My friend and I had a very pleasant 5 day stay at this artsy home. Everything was in good order when we arrived, easy WI-FI connection, abundant room for the two of us to spread out. Kitchen was extremely well appointed and food/condiments available. The glassed in back room was our place to park ourselves for breakfast and lounging (didn't even use the large living room). Adding a snack table and chair in the back room would have been handy. The location of the home is in a blue collar section of non-commercial part of town….perfect for our needs, but not in the heart of a business district. However, quite nearby, Clingman Cafe and River Arts District were great finds!

What a weekend!
This house/cottage is so peaceful, beautiful, and in close proximity to all the great shops, restaurants, bars, clubs, and everything else downtown and the river arts district has to offer. There was awesome music and entertainment almost everywhere we went. The food in this area is amazing no matter what you like and don't like. I will surely be back, hopefully real soon. Asheville and Ana's house are two things no one should miss out on. Thanks for sharing your slice of heaven.

My stay in Asheville was amazing. We were fortunate to be able to stay in this beautiful, precious home. The house is quaint with perfect decor. Everything is recently updated and very comfortable. The beds are cozy and I slept so well! It was close to downtown and the arts district. I will be back soon!!

Weekend in Asheville
We stayed here for a weekend and loved the house. It was just like the pictures. The kitchen was even nicer than the pics- seemed brand new. It was a rainy weekend so we didn't get to enjoy the outside deck. The house was decorated so nice and gave us space to have our stuff sitting around (you know how that happens). Since it was rainy, we wanted to watch a movie in the afternoon and the room where the tv is located isn't the most comfortable or much furniture. If that's where the tv is going to stay, wish they would add a side table or two and another chair and shades or drapes on the windows for at night. This house is so cute, but next door and across the street are houses in need of some loving. It was extremely close to the River Arts District and downtown.

Super experience
Spent a long weekend at this charming small house and we were totally impressed. Casually and elegantly appointed, very comfortable - the beds were excellent - and new appliances. The elevated deck was a favorite for our morning coffee...and quiet! Easy access to downtown and really everywhere. The owner was a most delightful person to work with, too. Five stars out of five!

The Greatest Vacation Ever
The best bed I have slept in 70 years!!! I enjoyed my vacation with my sisters so much. I love this house because it is centrally located. We loved going out every night to all the wonderful restaurants in town!! This town sure knows how to prepare and service great meals. I came to Ana's house last year and pre-booked to make sure we stay here again, just love this cozy house that makes you feel right at home. I highly recommend this amazing house. One last thing, right before we left we had our last coffee on the deck, with all the birds coming to the bird feeder and giving us an opportunity to connect to this beautiful place.

I fell in love with Asheville the first time I visited years ago. Asheville provides a creative outlet for artist and lovers of the arts. I am both! I love to go bird watching, hiking, kayaking, and mountain biking. Asheville's incredible natural beauty is what has drawn my family and I.

Why they chose this property

After looking at many areas, I realized that I love being within walking distance to The River Art District , to the great restaurants in downtown and to all the shows, music venues and theaters that are available just minutes away from my home. Location is so important as we try to reduce our dependency on fossil fuels. The house is located near the up and coming River Arts district.

What makes this property unique

This home is so beautiful and so well constructed. I love entertaining in such an amazing space. Where you can create amazing meals in our newly renovated kitchen and enjoy the great friends I have in Asheville. I also love just sitting on the rockers and watching all the birds that come up to our bird feeders. Lastly, it is so nice to have a short ride, bike ride or walk to all the places I want to go to. Living so close to everything is a real big benefit.
