As you enter the house from the turquoise door, you will see a modernist living room. A Keller hutch in the parlor room with mid century wall paper. The chess table and the MCM wall paper is the perfect spot for taking pictures. The rug perfectly ties the blue mid century couch with the Austin lounge chair and the safari chairs at the bay window. And Bauhaus is coming back!
The first bedroom is a Rothko inspired 60s Ruby bedroom. The 2nd bedroom is the emerald trad-mid century room. The 3rd bedroom, is the bunk house for kids and adults, with retro gaming console.
The modernist theme continues in the bathroom with subtle art-deco color and motifs.
The expansive kitchen with dining area the modernist theme continues, but in a more happier tone. Eames Molded chair coupled with Breuer cesca chair perfectly paired with the Teak Lakin table. The well stocked kitchen has wine glasses, martini glasses for your evening drink, plates/bowls for your meal. Blender, immersion blender, toaster and of course the staple convenient keurig with a drip option, if you want to try out a local coffee roaster.
Stacked washer and dryer in the tucket away laundry area.
As you enter in the backyard from the kitchen through the french door to soak in the San Diego sun, you can either lounge dry, or wet in the custom build, one of a kind, hot tub pool (or some says the cowboy pool), we call it the perfect SoCAL urban pool. Which heats up with a powerful water heater and also can stay cold, if you want to do a plunge.
We have a natural gas grill with rotisseries (big enough for a turkey!) and picnic table, if you want to finish your day having the dinner under the stars and the market light.

About the host

Now:
We appreciate architecture, art, food and people. We think of vacations as oxygen and we think food is religion. We have been to 25+ countries and list is growing every year. Our mission to go to all the national parks in USA is on hold after the arrival of our little one, we shifted our attention to urban traveling and our five year old has been to 14 countries spanning three continents already.
Before:
We moved about 13000 km from South Asia to East coast, then two years toiling in grad school, we moved another 4200km to San Diego to work in the high tech and called it our home. We lived most of our adult life in San Diego and moved to North park before it was cool. When our little one started taking over our cozy century old craftsman bungalow, we moved to Kensington in a 90 year old Spanish revival.
