Enjoyable stay with helpful hosts
I only provide honest reviews so that potential future holidaymakers can choose an appropriate venue to stay at. We stayed for 3 nights, 5 adults and 1 17yo. Upstairs is a bathroom and bedroom with a KS bed and a single bed. It's unbearably hot upstairs so you do have to use the air con with the fan (we tried to be electricity conscious) The bathroom has a nice shower but once out , we couldn't stand up to see in the mirror due to the low roof line so styling hair or putting on make up is best done elsewhere. The KS bed was very comfortable however the single was very hard and hurt my son's back. These issues are not deal breakers. Bedding for the 6th person is only suitable for a small child (a thin fold up mattress on the floor) no linen was provided however when I asked the host she arranged for some to be delivered (as we had booked for 6 people this should have been available without asking) The bedding was very unsuitable for a 17 yo so thank goodness we only stayed 3 nights. We would have dearly loved to sleep with the glass door open and avoid the air con however the screen door had several big holes in it so due to critters we couldn't trust it. The breeze is lovely so if the door gets fixed that's a great option. The oven doesn't work (like other reviews have mentioned) & it was not a child lock issue this time. It was very disappointing on our first night to have purchased frozen pizzas for dinner and not be able to use the oven. The kitchen has enough supplies of things and the laundry has washing powder provided. Be aware, the washing machine is super loud - I woke up those sleeping in the front room when I put it on one morning. Overall, this condo is run by friendly nice hosts who do their best to make your stay enjoyable. The condo itself is comfortable and well equipped. The location is good, the pools available are small but sufficient. It's a decent walk to the beach but we found you prefer to drive to the beautiful beaches along the highway most of the time anyway. Parking is right outside the front door. Foodland supermarket was a short (<10 mins) drive. The Waimea valley was definitely worth a visit and swimming at the waterfall was amazing. The beach opposite at Waimea Beach Park was the best. Beautiful sand and a great fun beach for all ages. Shark cove was incredible-even had turtles.
