Squam Camp at Waters Edge
Get away from it all on the most secluded cove of Squam Lake with tremendous wildlife and full boat access to the main lake; a paradise for kayakers, rowers, swimmers, naturalists, fishermen, couples and families alike. 500 Feet of wooded shoreline bordering conservation land. Private dock accommodates 17+ ft boat and recent upgrade include large, low profile float for relaxing or launching a rowing scull or kayak. Three cabins, built in 1960s all within 50 feet of waters edge (Main 25x22 cabin: kitchen, bath, living space and large deck, bedroom and two detached 10 x 10 sleeping cabins. Main cabin has electric heat. All cabins have plenty of fresh air. Non-smoking, no cats. Well behaved dogs welcome with additional cleaning fee and prior approval.
Our Suggestions for a Perfect Day on Squaw Cove: Wake to the sunrise and the mist rising over the narrows. Take a morning dip in the crystal clear water. Sip your morning coffee on the dock and enjoy the vista of the Squam Range. Fish unlimited wooded shoreline, spend the day on the lake or up a nearby mountain. Take a leisurely afternoon nap in the hammock at the waters edge. Bbq on the deck within steps of the waters edge. Take an early evening kayak to the far side of the cove to hear loons and maybe see a moose. Finish the day with a good book, puzzles or family games. If this is your view of a perfect day, you will fall in love with this place as we have.
Our Favorite Excursions: Walk to trailhead of East Rattlesnake Lookout trail. Short drive to trailhead for Mt. Morgan and Mt. Percival. Breakfast at Mocha Rising Internet Cafe. Experience local nature at Squam Lakes Science Center. Rent sailboats at Squam Lakes Association. Browse gifts Sandwich Home Industries/League of NH Craftsman. Enjoy Town of Sandwich Recreational facilities: town tennis courts, town beaches, Library with internet. Peaceful worship on Church Island. Boat or drive to Dinner at Walters Basin - Main st, Holderness.
