About this property
Kayak/Fish/Grill&Chill where River meets Ocean! Gameroom/Amenities/Pup Friendly!
If relaxing on the large deck, watching dolphins swim, otters play, or a line of shrimp boats heading out to sea is your thing, Chad Landing is for you! Bring your boat, skis, kayak, or paddleboard and spend the day at a nearby sandbar—just 10 minutes away. Catch dinner (red/black drum, trout, or the occasional shark), toss a line, and see what happens. Enjoy a campfire on the shore and let the kids have fun in the game room. It’s the perfect coastal getaway for friends or family vacations.
PUP & PARROT FRIENDLY, AMENITIES GALORE!!
OUTSIDE:
Located on the New River, on a quiet and charming one-way in/out road where you’ll meet friendly neighbors and enjoy plenty of playtime in the water. Take a walk or ride bikes to the Riverview Cafe or head to the corner blue store for ice cream, forgotten groceries, fishing tackle, or souvenirs.
Get the best of both worlds. The beautiful beaches of North Topsail Island are just a 13-minute drive away. Enjoy the sun and waves, collect shells, or hunt for fossilized shark teeth. The New River Inlet is about two miles southeast from the backyard, bringing in sea life, including dolphins, otters, sea turtles, and plenty of fish perfect for grilling on the back deck. The best part? You can enjoy a relaxing time on the water without the crowds and traffic of the beach.
The dock has a floating dock attached, and with coordination, you can drag it out to deeper water to lounge, fish, or let kids jump in. The dock itself is in shallow water, so deeper-hulled boats may not be able to park during low tide. 14' or skiff-type boats with tilt engines work best (that’s what I have).
Highly recommended to wear water shoes to avoid cuts from oyster shells. Get your chef hat on—there are plenty of oysters, clams, and fish to catch for an amazing dinner on the back deck.
The extra-large downstairs balcony overlooking the river is equipped with a grill, table, small fridge, couch, tall outdoor propane heater, trash can, table with propane fire pit, and bar-style table with chairs along the deck railing.
The long driveway can accommodate up to 5 vehicles. Or, bring your boat—the boat ramp is literally 2 minutes away.
INSIDE:
The main floor bedroom has a King bed, a closet with children's books, a travel crib, smart TV, and a dresser. It’s located across from the kitchen and bathroom, with a sliding door leading to the front yard balcony—perfect for grandparents. The open, updated kitchen comes with all the appliances, cookware, and gadgets you could need. Soap, detergent, sponges, and paper towels are located under the sink. The living room has tons of books for readers, and both the living and dining rooms feature 180-degree windows facing the river. The living room has two couches, a 55" electric "fireplace," and a 65" TV, with a sliding door leading to the back deck overlooking the water.
Upstairs, the Master bedroom (King) has its own full bathroom, smart TV, closet, dresser, and a balcony facing the front yard. The two river-facing bedrooms (one Queen and one Twin-over-Full bunk bed) share a balcony with amazing river views and a hallway full bathroom. Both bedrooms have closets and dressers.
The washer/dryer is located upstairs in a closet with detergent, dryer sheets, broom, and vacuum available for use (more can be requested).
A game room and bathroom are currently being built on the ground floor. By the end of April, it should be complete, offering a variety of activities and games for both adults and children to enjoy safely. Games will include a stand-up arcade machine with your favorite 1980s classics, a large-screen TV for movies, and a bar table with four stools to eat and rest your drinks. Enjoy foosball, a 5-foot-tall Jenga, a large wall-mounted Connect Four, or step outside to play on the spacious ping pong table while listening to the sounds of the river.
AMENITIES.
SUMMER FUN SHED:
Most of the outdoor amenities are located here.
Cornhole boards, outdoor games, fishing poles and tackle box, beach equipment (chairs, kids' stuff, boogie boards, cooler). Feel free to take them to the beach, but please ensure everything is returned.

Children's water bouncy house available for rent daily, as seen in the pics.

PETS:
There is a 20ft x 20ft fenced-in area at the bottom of the stairs in the backyard for your pups to relax too! A gate on the back deck keeps pups from venturing downstairs.

About the host
Hosted by chad wathen

Originally from Lodi Ca, I joined the Navy at 17 and in 2020 I retired. I chose Sneads Ferry due to its close proximity to my new job and its affordability to also live on the water. I enjoy family and everything that has to due with the water
Why they chose this property
One way in and one way out. Everyone knows everyone. Great neighbors and an amazing place to watch sunrises and sunsets.
What makes this property unique
Close proximity to the beach. Although, I’d rather be on the river where it meets the beach. You can be on the water without the traffic, parking, noisy college kids and crowds.
