About this property
The Nest - Studio in Toronto
If you appreciate a balance between the elegance of “less is more” and the bustle of city-life, then you’ve found your ideal retreat. Escape the ordinary and embrace a new paradigm of comfort - one that celebrates vibrance and mindfulness. Welcome to a space where luxury meets consciousness, and every moment is an opportunity to savour the beauty of simplicity. Welcome to my home - I hope it brings you as much peace as it brings me.
Built in 1910 and reminiscent of a New York style hard loft, my home is full of quaint charm and vibrance. On the penthouse level with an open concept living space, I trust you will find comfort in all that my home has to offer. Whether you enjoy doing yoga by the bright window, or prefer to read in bed under the skylight, you will find your own version of simplicity.
The newly renovated kitchen features a soda stream, toaster, microwave and cooking essentials such as pots, pans and utensils. There are 5 bar stools for dining, and plenty of lounge space in the family room. Sit on the green suede couch, or on the vibrant floor pillows, and look out at the blue sky!
There are 2 large built-in units for your to hang or fold your laundry. Pull-outs for shoes and storage for cleaning essentials (if that's your thing!). The bathroom is also newly renovated and features Aesop products that are sure to elevate your experience.
I consider myself eco-conscious and you will see little touches around the home that emulate this; compost bin under the kitchen sink, sensible coffee moka-pot, and minimal clutter. There are plants propagating and books about wellness around the home for you to enjoy.
We provide an abundance of bath towels, fresh linens, dish towels and a welcome basket with some snacks and coffee beans to get you started.
The Location:
You are in a prime location! Our opinion might be bias as we have lived here for many years, but we truly believe it is an area where you get to feel like a local. Either head West into Parkdale for some authentic food and some cheap eats, or head East on Queen st and take a left on Ossington. It is rated one of the “coolest streets in the world” and offers many gorgeous restaurants, dessert shops, and the famous Sweaty Betty’s dive bar.
Conveniently located in front of a streetcar and a bike share, you can easily travel through the city.
The Kitchen:
If you like to cook, we have a lot of things you'll need! Here is our list:
-Full sized oven
- toaster
- microwave
- pots and pans
- pasta strainer
- scissors
- paper towels and kitchen towels
- rasp (or zester)
- cutting boards
- wine glasses
- Moka pot for coffee, grinder and beans
* if there's something specific you might need for your stay, let us know prior to your arrival and we'll do our best to have it ready for you! *
Welcome to your one-of-a-kind haven.
You will have access to the entire space: kitchen, bathroom, work space, living room and closets. This is not a shared accommodation and you can register a guest at no extra cost. Please just let us know so we leave the appropriate amount of towels and pillows.
I am your co-host (Elisa) and I live closeby. I am very passionate about offering a memorable experience. I encourage you to reach out to me during your stay if you need any recommendations of places to see/eat in the area. If you need a cup of sugar (yes, I have run over to bring a cup of sugar!), more olive oil, or some recipes; I’m happy to be your helpful neighbour!
Living like a Parkdale local or Queen Street savant is my specialty, so please don't hesitate to ask for recommendations to enjoy every moment of your stay. After living in the area for many years, I have endless suggestions for culinary delights! Let me guide you to a memorable stay in Linda's Nest.
There is no parking on the lot, however, there are several Green P parking lots in the area. Download the Green P app to see options in the area.
Since your stay is lengthy, we imagine you may need an extra clean. We are happy to offer a clean during your stay. We can pre-arrange this at the time of your booking. We will change the sheets, provide new linens, and clean the unit.
