Welcome to Mamaw Uschie’s Room – Your Cozy Greensboro Retreat
Named in honor of Eric’s remarkable mom, Ursala—born in Germany during the war—((Mamaw Uschie’s Room)) is our heartfelt tribute to an extraordinary woman. We invite you to feel truly at home in our shared Idlewood neighborhood residence, where warm hospitality meets modern comfort.
The Space:
Comfort & Rest: Enjoy a memory foam queen-sized bed dressed in 100% cotton linens and room-darkening curtains for a peaceful sleep.
Workspace & Convenience: A dedicated desk with ample lighting, plus a mini-fridge and microwave for light meals or snacks, are at your service.
Cleaning & Storage: A vacuum is provided in the room along with generous closet space to keep your belongings neatly stowed.
Bathroom: Benefit from an en suite Jack-and-Jill bathroom (shared only with the adjacent Grandma Dottie’s Room) featuring a curved glass shower, pedestal sink, and a selection of travel-sized hair and skincare essentials.
House Guidelines:
Kitchen Use: Our hosts lovingly maintain a tiny, cherished kitchen that remains off-limits to guests to keep it in top condition. However, we’re delighted to offer complimentary coffee most mornings when we’re home!
Pet Policy: Respectful pet owners are welcome with their fur babies. Baby dogs should be directed to the mulched or non-grass areas, and for baby kitties, please disclose how you manage kitty litter and protect furniture from claw damage before booking.
Flushing Policy: Please flush only natural waste and toilet paper; improper items may incur repair fees.
Damage to Linens: Replacement fees apply for any damage to linens or towels.
Mid-Stay Cleaning: Available upon request with 24-hour notice.

We’re an independent guest home rental with a purpose—creating a welcoming space while also supporting Guilford County high school students with learning differences. Through hands-on experiences in this home, students gain valuable skills that help them grow.
((This private upstairs bedroom is connected to another private room)), Grandma Dottie's, by a Jack-and-Jill en suite bathroom (see floorplan photo). While we live downstairs, you’ll have a private, comfortable bedroom to unwind. Your room includes a dorm-sized refrigerator, microwave, iron, and cleaning tools for convenience. Kitchen access is not available. If you are looking for a whole house furnished rental please see our whole home rentals at Joy Watson Real Estate Rentals.
For guests staying 30 days or more, we offer one laundry load per week with unscented detergent—yours or ours and 24 hour notice so we can get out laundry moved through.

Our landscaper and pest control service will periodically access the yard and crawlspace. If you notice bugs inside, please clean up food crumbs, spills, and message us to request pest control service inside the home.

Please don’t rearrange furniture or hang or attach anything on the walls.
Quiet Hours
Be mindful of noise levels from 9 PM to 9 AM to respect our neighbors.
