Oak Haven Lakeside Cottages is a perfect "anytime" lakeside getaway for couples, families, friends, business folks, fishermen, or anyone who loves the peaceful sights and sounds of nature. We are located in Gary, Texas on a quiet cove on beautiful Lake Murvaul. This cozy and tranquil setting is the perfect place to relax and enjoy nature and lake activities such as fishing, swimming, boating, bird watching, grilling, gathering around a campfire, canoeing, and making memories!
Our 800 sf Cottage is fully equipped with all of the necessities of home. The Cottage sleeps 8 (6 adult max please) - a queen bed, 2 twin beds, 2 futon sofas that fold to full sized beds. The Cottage has an open deck with charcoal grill and a screened shelter where you can relax in a rocking chair and soak in the gorgeous view of the lake. Enjoy our large yard with fire ring, private pier, and our fish cleaning table.
***We are PET FRIENDLY to well-behaved pets. 3 pet maximum. Housebroken dogs and declawed cats are welcome. Please be sure to add your pet to your reservation request.
NO SMOKING allowed in Cottage, but is allowed on the deck and screened shelter. Our fully equipped kitchen has a full sized refrigerator with icemaker, microwave, stove/oven, toaster, coffee maker, pots/pans, utensils, dinnerware - everything you will need - Just bring your food and drinks! Our cozy Cottage has 2 flat screened TVs, DVD player, DVD library, an electric fireplace, central AC/Heat, ceiling fans. End of Summer

We decided we needed one more trip to end the summer before returning to work next week and Oak Haven Lakeside Cottage was the best place to do that. Everything about the cottage is perfect and the yard is so relaxing to sit under the trees, enjoy the peace and quiet, read a book and watch the dog chase squirrels. Oh and we got some fishing in too. Our third time to enjoy this wonderful spot on Lake Murval. Can’t wait to come back next spring.

Extremely Satisfied

Extremely satisfied with our stay at Oak Haven. The house was very clean and had everything we needed. The host was amazing with directions and making sure we were taken care of. The water front was large. The pier was also very large. We had a blast swimming and using the paddleboats/kayaks! I was very impressed with the cove that its in. Its a beautiful view. It's the perfect get away to relax and play. I definitely recommend booking a trip here.

Beautiful Cabin Great Stay

We had a great time at this lovely cabin. Property as described- clean and comfortable. Owner communication was pleasant. Lake access was great. WiFi- was nonexistent for me. My son's phone did pick it up a little bit. That said, I did have cell service. FYI for those that really need WiFi. If you need a place though to stay and enjoy Lake Murvaul this is a wonderful choice! We look forward to booking again!

Rest and Relaxation

We totally enjoyed our time at this lake house. It had everything we were looking for in a place to relax and get away from reality. Only negative we caught turtles instead of fish. The fish must of been cold from the cold front, hee hee.

Family time

The stay was amazing and the dock and cove area was perfect. No need to take a fishing boat because kayaks were available and the catfishing was one of the best spots on the lake.

Love the cottage!

We stayed here while attending a baseball tournament. It was perfect. The cottage is adorable. It was clean, great furnishings, well-stocked and felt like having our own lake house. We will definitely return.

A real GEM in the woods!

We had a wonderful time here! The cabin was perfect for our family of 4 (which included two 16 year old boys). The outdoor fun with paddle boats and canoes coupled with the indoor fun of a vast amount of movies and games entertained us all. Nice to connect as a family again and the added bonus of a kitchen to cook in & a separate bedroom for us was great! Having our own dock to fish off was also nice as my son caught his first 3lb Catfish! The serenity of this place sitting in a lounger with the sounds of birds and the breeze blowing made it incredibly relaxing! We actually ran out of time and didn't get to use the fire pit for s'mores - but this place is truly special and we will definitely be coming back!

Welcoming and Relaxing

We came for our Anniversary looking to Relax! This cabin allowed us to have all that plus they let us bring our fur baby! They provide all you could need to have inside and outside the home! The outdoor living space is what we enjoyed the most! Plenty of shade and direct access to the lake with your own pier! If you have children they will absolutely love the property! We loved our time at the cabin and the hosts were wonderful! Thank you for giving us an opportunity to relax!

Family Vacation

Everything was terrific. Cottage was well stocked with essentials. Great location on the lake. This is a great spot for anyone wanting to get away and spend time together as a couple or family without being glued to a cell phone or T.V. I enjoyed playing games and spending quality time with my family. I would stay here again.

Whether you want to relax or join in the fun, Oak Haven has so much to offer. Spend time relaxing by the lake with a book or a fishing pole. Gather around a campfire, enjoy bird watching, gather on the deck for a cook-out, relax in our rocking chairs in our screened shelter. Swim from the pier or go tubing on the lake. Enjoy boating or canoeing around the lake. Play ball, horseshoes, or croquet in the yard or sit back and watch movies in our relaxing cottage. Bring your binoculars and enjoy nature watching - don't be surprised to see ducks, squirrels, many species of birds, raccoon, turtles, frogs, lizards, egrets, herons, hummingbirds, gulls, and occasional pelicans.
There is something for almost age, any interest!

We are currently offering our 1 Bedroom, 1 Bath 800 sf Cottage that sleeps 8 (6 adults max please). This Cottage offers a queen bed, 2 twin beds, and 2 futon sofas that fold out into 2 full-size beds. Linens are provided. This Cottage comes with a fully equipped kitchen, including all dinnerware, cooking utensils, pots/pans, full sized fridge with ice maker, coffee maker, microwave, stove, toaster, and dishtowels, etc. Just bring your food and drink! The bathroom features a walk-in shower. Towels, washcloths, and hand towels are provided. The cozy Cottage includes 2 flat screen TVs, DVD player with DVD library, games, electric fireplace, ceiling fans, central air/heat, 2 recliners, and a dining table that seats 6 guests.
