About this property
2-bedroom cozy cottage centrally located
Just like Grandma’s house! Cozy and charming Cape in a quiet but centrally located neighborhood, bringing you all the comforts of home. Walking distance to Tweed Airport, 3 parks and a beach, only minutes from downtown. The home is comfortably furnished in the "Grandma-Core" style. That means marshmallow-y couches, cozy floral rugs, china plates, antique and vintage furniture, and plenty of charm. You’ll feel right at home!
The space
Nostalgia awaits! Restore your soul and unwind in this delightful & cozy cottage. It is furnished with antiques designed to invoke the feeling of coming home to grandma's house. Relax on the comfy (plastic cover free!) living room sofas, let your feet rejoice in the plush wool carpet. Play a board game or curl up with a book. Cook up a casserole with all the vintage cookware in the fully stocked kitchen. Gather around the table and dine in an actual dining room (who even has these anymore?!). And everyone knows that food tastes better when eaten off grandma's floral print china! Although this home is full of nostalgia, it also offers modern conveniences: fast wifi, smart TV, smart lock & self check-in.
Make yourself at home!
Downstairs you'll find a kitchen, large living room, a dining room, half bath, sunroom and an enclosed porch overlooking the backyard.
Kitchen:
Although Grandma isn't here to cook for you, you can still use her kitchen! Pots, pans and vintage casserole dishes are waiting to be filled with memories! You'll have use of the gas stove & oven, full-size fridge, microwave, toaster oven, and hot water kettle. An assortment of cooking utensils are available. An authentic 80's coffee maker is at your service, with enough coffee and filters to get your trip started. Granny's got you covered with Coffee-mate individual creamers and sugar, along with tea and honey sticks.
Living Room:
Sink into the soft sofas, relax, and enjoy a board game, movie, or book. A smart TV is ready to stream your favorite shows. The fireplace is filled with flameless candles that cast a warm glow with the touch of a button. Just off the living room, a cozy 3-season sunporch with Grandpa's wingback chair and reading lamp adds even more room to relax.
Dining Room:
The dining room has built-ins stocked with puzzles, games & books to enjoy. The dining table seats 4, and the kitchen has enough dinnerware, cutlery, and glassware for 4 guests as well. You're welcome to raid Granny's china cabinet if you need an extra teacup!
Upstairs you will find both bedrooms and the full bath, as well as a cozy nook in the hallway with a built-in desk that provides a delightful place to work (if you must).
Bedrooms:
The primary bedroom features a Queen bed, furnished with comfortable and crisp cotton percale sheets, a muslin cotton blanket, and an oversized down comforter. This room is fairly large and has a lot of room to move about. It has a closet with hangars and an armoire to store your folded items. There is a window A/C Unit and a tower fan. A nightstand and wall lamp are on each side of the bed, along with one alarm clock and a white noise machine. Extras include an iron, ironing board, and a garment steamer.
To the left is the second bedroom and full bath. The second bedroom features a Double bed, which is also fitted with cotton percale sheets, a muslin cotton blanket, and an oversized down comforter. This room has a closet with hangars and a small dresser/nightstand, a window A/C unit, a tower fan, a white noise machine, and an alarm clock with USB outlets. This bedroom room is considerably smaller than the primary and is better suited for one adult.
Bathroom:
There's a tub/shower (used as a shower only) and a small vanity. There's not much storage in this small and dated space, but it does the job! Towels, a bath mat, mini toiletries, a hairdryer, and makeup towels are provided.
Beach Essentials: if you’re planning a beach trip or a day outdoors, Grandma's got you covered! Pack up the cooler (above the fridge) with ice packs (ready in the freezer), grab the tote bag filled with beach towels, the folding butterfly chairs, and a 3-4 person beach tent from the downstairs closet.
Guest access
All first and second-floor living areas are available for guest use.
The basement and attic spaces are not available to guests.
The 2 cabinets under the sink and above the stove in the kitchen are reserved for the host, and the upstairs hall closet as well.
Other things to note
STAIRS REQUIRED! Both the front and rear entrances have a small staircase/steps required to enter. Both bedrooms as well as the only full bathroom are located on the second floor of the house.
