About this property
Hillside mountain retreat close to village & lake
This home is a two story comfy cabin that is nestled away on the side of the mountain and the cabin’s back hillside is up against the national forrest.
This multilevel cabin has two patios that allow you to fully immerse yourself in all the beauty and nature around you. Sit on the patio, watch the stellar jays, woodpeckers squirrels and chipmunks and let your stress fade away as you sink into the tranquility around you. The cabin is comfortable and is a perfect combination of retained rustic origin, with a clean and modern decor.
Upon entering, you will find the living room with wood fireplace, coffee bar, full kitchen and bath all on the first level. This will allow you to spend time together and will provide most commonly used amenities to cook, play games, watch tv, or read a book by the fire.
Upstairs you will find two bedrooms. The front bedroom has a queen bed, desk space, and peek-a-boo views of the lake through the large tree that makes you feel like you are in a treehouse and provides some extra privacy. Relax in the two hammock chairs on your balcony with a coffee, cocoa or cocktail.
The back bedroom has two full size beds and as far as you can see is mountain as this cabin backs up against the national forest. You may occasionally catch a glimpse of some of the wildlife walking along the hillside from the comfort of your room.
Animal lovers and nature watchers have ample access to all that Big Bear has to offer with the San Bernardino National Forest as your backdrop for this stay.
Enjoy the sledding, snow shoeing, snowball fights and nearby ski/snowboard slopes in the winter. During the summer enjoy nearby trailheads, mountain biking, paddle boarding, boating or even an afternoon or evening bbq on the back porch while you take in the beauty of nature all around you.
During your stay you will realize that the location is perfect for most anything you want to do or see in town. It is a short scenic walk to the village, town, lake, coffee shops, restaurants and shopping. The trolley is nearby for venturing further than the mile to town if you choose. Big bear ski resort and snow summit are less than 5 miles from this ideal location and are easily accessed from the nearby ski shuttle. Alpine slide, bowling, and other entertainment is also a quick drive away.
Pine knot trail, areas to sled or snowshoe, and other hiking trails are also walkable from here if you prefer to have a more active stay.
We provide the basics for your perfect mountain getaway and you make it yours. Relax and let your mind wander in the comfort of the cabin, or venture out for all this quaint ski town has to offer. Guestbook provided with plenty of local info for ways to get around town and activities to immerse yourself in our community.
This home will be everything you hoped for your mountain getaway!
