Our property, located in a peaceful and secluded spot, is not fully fenced. The surrounding areas of Yosemite National Park, including urban regions, are rich with wildlife. You can often see deer, turkeys, squirrels, hawks, and rabbits right from the property. Occasionally, you might spot coyotes, bears, mountain lions, raccoons, opossums, skunks, rattlesnakes, tarantulas, and scorpions. Be mindful of local flora like poison oak and poison ivy as well.
Wildfires are a natural part of life in California, including the Sierra Nevada region, and typically occur from June to November. These fires play a crucial role in the ecosystem, helping species like sequoias to reproduce.
During the winter season, from January to March, guests may encounter snow. It's recommended to carry snow chains as access to the property involves an inclined gravel road. Local roads, including those in Yosemite, may also require snow chains if your car is not equipped with winter tires and 4x4.
