About the host
Hosted by Linda Bjorklund

We are happy to share our home with you and hope you will enjoy it as much as we do. We have owned this property for 42 years and have seen the Village of Stockholm grow to become a destination for visitors who wish to enjoy this small town’s history and embrace of nature and the arts.
Why they chose this property
As a child, my husband's grandmother immigrated from Sweden to Stockholm, Wisconsin with her family. Tom has extended family in the area and has enjoyed the beauty of Lake Pepin all of his life.
What makes this property unique
The east section of our house started out as a fisherman's cottage in 1868. The west end was built in 1872. We are the fourth owners of the building.
Our house is an example of Swedish ethnic vernacular design and construction. It is built of stone grout construction. A form is built and filled with stone. A slurry of grout is then poured into the form. The grout made for the Plann Store was made of marl, a cement made from a claylike mixture found in the river where a millennium of clamshells had been deposited by currents.
