Leopard Safari
As of the last census, Jawai boasts a robust leopard population, with approximately 60 individuals counted. One of the few places on earth where the wild and people may live in harmony together is Jawai. In addition to the magnificent leopard, other creatures that call Jawai home include the chinkara, sloth bear, Indian wolf, jackal, blue bull, and snakes like pythons. During our safaris, you will go on a three-hour drive into the untamed Jawai highlands while enjoying homemade cookies and high tea with a naturalist.
Guided Village Safari with Rabaris
You have the option to experience a Village Safari during your stay with us, in which we will transport you into Varawal's interior on open-topped jeeps. Your safari/tour will give you an understanding of the Rabaris, or shepherds, who live in these hills and the villages where the oldest families in Rajasthan still reside. A meet and greet with the Rabaris will be the main feature of the tour.
Bird Watching
Flocks of birds fly to Jawai due to its ideal climate when winter draws near to the land of the Leopards. Many migratory and Indian birds that come to spend the winters can be seen during your visit to the Jawai Dam, also known as Jawai Bandh among the locals. In Jawai, crocodiles have also made their presence known, so you might as well see them alongside the birds. Some bird species that you may see while visiting are listed below. The Greater Flamingo, Indian Robbin, Sarus Crane, Pelican, Laggar Falcon, Ruddy Shelduck, Bar-Headed Goose, and plenty more.
Breakfast in the Wilderness
