The Space:
Escape to the charming Five Forks mountain community in Murphy, North Carolina, nestled amidst the picturesque southern Smoky Mountains. Established in the 1830s, Murphy is a quaint town situated at the convergence of the Hiwassee and Valley rivers, offering a serene retreat for exploring the surrounding natural beauty. Just a scenic 30-minute drive away lies Blue Ridge, Georgia, with its abundance of dining, shopping, and outdoor adventure opportunities, providing the perfect day excursion before returning to the tranquility of our private mountain sanctuary.

In 2021, the owners of The Great Escape embarked on a quest to find their "home away from home" and discovered it in Five Forks. Drawn by the mystical allure of the Smokies, they were captivated by the breathtaking views and peaceful seclusion of our mountain abode. The Great Escape has since become their family's cherished retreat, providing a respite from the hustle and bustle of urban life.

Our journey to The Great Escape began with a memorable vacation at Misty Mountain in September 2022. Celebrating a friend's wedding in nearby Brasstown, North Carolina, we fell head over heels for Murphy and its welcoming locals, as well as the captivating charm of this stunning mountain cabin. Inspired by our love for the area, we embarked on a partnership with the owners in January 2023, marking the beginning of our Smoky Mountain expansion.

The Great Escape features three bedrooms, three-and-a-half baths, and an array of inviting spaces, including two living rooms, a wet bar, and two southern-facing decks. Nestled amidst glorious neighborhood trails, this mountain retreat offers unparalleled privacy and serenity. Accommodating up to eight guests, The Great Escape boasts 2,287 square feet of living space, ensuring ample room for relaxation and enjoyment.

Upon entering The Great Escape, guests are greeted by a bright and airy living, dining, and kitchen area, ideal for gathering with loved ones. The fully stocked kitchen boasts modern amenities and ample utensils, while the adjoining dining area provides seating for six. Two master bedrooms offer luxurious accommodations, each with a private ensuite bath, while a cozy queen bedroom and additional guest room provide comfort and convenience.

The lower level features a fully functional living room with a wet bar, perfect for entertaining or relaxing with a movie night. A spacious guest bedroom and third full bath complete the lower level accommodations. Outside, guests can unwind on the screened-in porch with a gas fire pit or soak in the private hot tub while marveling at the breathtaking mountain views.

The Great Escape offers the perfect blend of comfort and adventure, with downtown Murphy just a short drive away. Guests can explore the town's historic charm, dine at local restaurants, or indulge in shopping at unique boutiques. Whether you're seeking outdoor adventure or simply relaxation amidst nature's beauty, The Great Escape promises an unforgettable mountain getaway.

Guest Access:
Guests at The Great Escape enjoy full access to the entire home, with the exception of two locked supply closets located on the downstairs floor.

For enhanced security and peace of mind, The Great Escape features exterior security cameras strategically placed around the property. These cameras are motion-activated and record video and sound, solely focusing on outdoor areas to ensure guest safety and privacy. Please note that there are no interior noise sensors or cameras within the home.

Two exterior cameras, Camera 1 and Camera 2, are installed on the east side of the home. Camera 1 faces the driveway, while Camera 2 monitors the porch stoop, providing comprehensive surveillance of the property's perimeter.

In consideration of our full-time residential mountain community, The Great Escape observes quiet hours from 10 PM until 8 AM. To minimize disturbance to our neighbors, guests are kindly requested to keep noise levels down during these hours and to utilize dimmers for exterior lighting. Additionally, leaving floodlights off overnight is encouraged to avoid any unnecessary brightness affecting neighboring homes. Failure to comply with quiet hour regulations may result in early termination of the stay without a refund.

Please note that due to the absence of a mailbox, The Great Escape is unable to accept packages from USPS. Guests requiring package delivery are advised to utilize UPS or FedEx services. For items that can only be delivered via USPS, please contact us to make special delivery arrangements.

Beyond the park, charming mountain towns like Gatlinburg and Cherokee beckon visitors to explore their historic streets and vibrant culture.

Currently, our vacation rental offerings are centered in picturesque Murphy, North Carolina, with plans to expand into the Highlands area. Murphy, located just an hour from the eastern entrance of the park in Cherokee County, serves as an ideal base for exploring the wonders of the Smokies.

Guests primarily rely on their vehicles for transportation during their stay. However, for those who prefer to book with a local driver, we're delighted to provide recommendations and assistance in arranging transportation directly with trusted drivers in the area. Whether you're looking for a convenient ride to explore local attractions or need transportation for special events, we're here to ensure your travel needs are met with ease and convenience.

Other Things to Note:
Pets:
Small dogs are welcome upon approval, although we do not accommodate other animals, including but not limited to cats, pigs, rabbits, and reptiles. Please note that we have specific breed and weight restrictions in place. Guests are required to present recent proof of their pet's current flea and tick preventative upon booking. Pet fees, which vary based on breed and size, are paid directly to Beats Working Vacation Rentals via your booking platform. Upon approval, guests will receive an alteration including the applicable fee on a sliding scale. Please be aware that additional charges may be incurred for remediation of pet-related issues, such as excessive hair, strong smells, urine/feces, fleas, etc.

While guests are not required to notify us if traveling with a service dog, we greatly appreciate a heads up to prevent confusion. If you are traveling with a service animal, you must show active proof of flea and tick prevention. Our aim in making this request is to facilitate a seamless travel experience for all our guests through clear communication and honesty. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
