About this property
The Haven—Home with Delightful Gardens, Game Room, and Magical Hot Tub
The Haven, an exclusive private residence, is uniquely suited for retreats, workshops, and family and corporate gatherings. This luxurious home, boasting two master and six bedrooms that comfortably sleep 16, with the option to accommodate four more individuals with blowup mattresses, offers a range of unique features. From indoor gas fireplaces, a gym, a library, a bar, and a full game room, to a custom hot tub, heated seasonal pool, and outdoor dining areas, The Haven is designed to provide a luxurious and memorable experience. The spacious main hall, nestled in pristine gardens, is the perfect setting for gatherings, making for a delightful experience year-round.
The house extends over two levels. On the upper level, rooms encircle the main hall; on the lower level, rooms surround a game room. A playful staircase provides indoor access between floors, while a spiral staircase connects the outdoor upper deck to the lower patio. Visitors enjoy five bird-viewing areas and pristine gardens. The flat grassy fields are suitable for ball games.
At The Haven, your privacy and comfort are our top priorities. Owners Robert and Pauline are always nearby, ready to assist but never intrusive. This arrangement ensures an uninterrupted experience, with the added comfort of knowing help is just a moment away for any issues or requests.
With years of hosting experience, including three years in San Francisco and two in suburban Philadelphia, owners Robert and Pauline have a proven track record of providing exceptional service. They have hosted a diverse range of guests, from renowned musicians and Indians from Rajasthan, to ballet companies from New York, music therapists, and hip-hop stars. The Haven has been the setting for a variety of events, including family celebrations, memorials, music therapy retreats, retirement parties, bar mitzvahs, small weddings, and charity events. Robert and Pauline's wealth of experience ensures that your stay at The Haven will be nothing short of perfect.
The Haven is in a prime location. It is a three-hour Amtrak ride into NYC from Paoli Train Station and 45 minutes via Septa into Philadelphia. Valley Forge, Longwood Gardens, and Chanticleer are sure to please. Local restaurant Nectar is a favorite, as are Handel's "Handel pops" in four flavors. Kirkwood Preserve is a local favorite for photo shoots.
What guests find most memorable about the property is the sense of privacy. Neighbors live off in the distance, rendering the impression you are in a private hotel. The house has something for everyone, with both quiet and upbeat areas. The home is so large, at about 9000 sq. ft., that kids can run around in the living room as their parents sit by and relax in deep leather couches. The house is also ideal for concerts. A step up in the main hall makes it possible to sit 40 for a concert in a few minutes without adding chairs.
The house is unique and known in the area as a house of joy and reflection—the perfect place for heartfelt gatherings. Art themes in the home include American Indian works, Fiesta earthenware, screen printing by Emily Lou Packard, and Japanese obis. It has been featured in the Devon Horse Show Tour of Homes.
