Very nice ...

Lodging building and rooms were spacious and very clean. Nice pool and enjoyable hot tub but deck area in need of update and/or repair. Hotel has bicycles to borrow which we thoroughly enjoyed. Staff very pleasant and accommodating. Continental breakfast was a work in progress-ran out of food on Day 1 .Day 2 on breakfast more plentiful. Highly suggest to arrive for breakfast when open at 8:00am. We enjoyed the beautiful Keys sunsets and reasonably priced cocktails at the Tiki bar by Marina. Bartender super nice and gave great suggestions for our stay in Marathon.

The room was clean and comfortable, the pool was really nice and large.

The room was clean and comfortable, really nice big pool, nice little walk to the pier and tiki bar. Staff was very polite. Location was close to restaurants and stores.

Very welcoming staff and accommodations! Don’t expect the ritz Carlton, and you won’t be disappointed. Spacious balcony, plenty of on site activities such as pool, beach, bar, tennis, bikes, etc…

Short but sweet !

Beautiful....Only 2 small cons. Electrical outlets in room needs to be replaced..Loose board near hot tub. Left hand side coming from back side .... Otherwise all was great !!!

Disappointing

Lots of little things. First, when we arrived (which was after hours, but we did notify VRBO of our late arrival), there were no instructions as to what we should do to get into our room. We went to the front desk which was closed and fortunately, in the low light, I saw our key and instructions (but almost missed it). If I had not seen that, we would have slept in the car. There should have been instructions. The next morning I checked in as requested. Around Noon of our first full day, we had just returned from the pool and had just finished dressing when another guest walked into our room, using his key card. And that guest had our room booked. That mixup was almost embarrassing. There was dog excrement in the pool area. My wife saw a maintenance person walk right past it. Our room, while comfortable was cleaned just twice during our stay and I had to ask several times to get it cleaned the second time, including grabbing a maid to as she was leaving (she did no clean but gave us some towels). Lastly, the room's AC,while working did not dehumidify the room. It was very damp in our room all week. So while no one of these issues was major, combined, they were disappointing and we would not return to Banana Bay as things stand.

Property not as advertised

We are very disappointed with our stay. We ended up checking out after just one night because of how inaccurate the listing was. The two bars that are advertised - the pool side bar and ocean side bar were closed. We were looking forward to enjoying the views without having to drive anywhere but that was not the case. The ocean side area was not cleaned and had empties everywhere. The next day the cleaning crews arrived and even admitted to us oh this place is a mess “we have to get to work”. The pool was dirty and there were no amenities by it. It was definitely not heated and there were no towels. There was one lady checking in guests while she had to service the entire breakfast area and answer calls with no help. She did what she could but the place is very understaffed. The cherry on top was the rude employee who tried to tell us the “beach” (more like rocky cliff) was for guests only even though we were wearing our bracelets. I would never stay here again.
