This was a perfect place for our fishing trip. It's in a great little neighborhood with a couple piers and a boat ramp. Yard was a little small to turn around a truck and boat trailer but worked just fine. Look forward to staying here again in the future
Had a wonderful time at Thrush Cottage. Love that it is hidden back away from the other homes. Screened in back porch is nice. Love taking kids to pier to fish. Close to beaches and other activities at Myrtle Beach.
We love it sooooo much we would love to live there!❤❤❤ I would 💯 refer Thrush Cottage to anyone!

Had a great time. The house met all our expectatin
We enjoyed our stay. The house was well worth the price. We found no problems with the house. The location was perfect..close but not in the beach crowd.
This is the second year we have stayed at Thrush Cottage and the third year staying in one of Michael's properties. We love the location of Thrush Cottage - great privacy and fishing on the neighborhood's private dock! Michael is always responsive and the property is in excellent condition with everything you need for a relaxing vacation at the beach!!
Mike’s properties are so inviting the entire neighborhood is so peaceful. This is a place to stay if you need to unwind from everyday stress. It is convenient to everything and the pier is marvelous to fish on or just relax. This was our second trip this year hope to return again real soon. The owner Mike Henley is so helpful ad great to work with.
This was our second year staying in the community where Thrush cottage is located. We love the neighborhood, private fishing docks and the cottages. Both cottages were extremely clean, well furnished and well kept. The property manager is also very accessible and responsive.
We stayed a week for the July 4th holiday. The home was clean and nice and cool. We fished on the pier in the neighborhood on the inlet waters. And we got to bring our pets along with us. We will be back!!
The property was very easy to get too. It was cleans and quiet and peaceful. We would rent again. We were really glad we could bring our furry friends. Great communication with owner
Mike was very helpful when needed. We have stayed in this neighborhood twice in the past 2 years & find the folks who live here to be super welcoming and friendly. This home is in a very private location and the fishing here is great. Close to the beach and close to Causeway Gourmet that has good food!!! They deliver. This home isn’t fancy, It’s cozy & has everything we needed.

We had a great time
The property was clean, roomy, very comfortable and close to shopping. It is in a quiet and safe area. Best of all, (for me) it is very close to a pizzaria where true New York Style pizza is made! Nice people to work with.
I would recommend this place highly. I would, however, suggest you bring a few pots and pans. The teflon cookware is worn and flaking; still, this was a minor concern as my daughter lived close by.

The owner is a prick and I will never ever rent from him again period.
Secluded, quiet location, great place to relax after a day at Ocean Isle Beach (about a 10 minute drive). It's an easy 15 minute drive to Shallotte, where you can find all kinds of shopping (including Walmart and Belk). Mike Healey touched base the day before my arrival and asked me to look the place over for any concerns. There weren't any. Then he called the day my stay ended to see what could be done to improve my stay. This is my choice to stay if it's available when I return to OIB!
For a family gathering we stayed at this property and another one that was on the island. It worked well. Some kayaked one day in the waterway. Mike was very responsive to the one AC problem we had. The pictures give a good representation of the home. It is basic but affordable and in a good location. You do have to drive about 10 minutes to the beach - over the bridge. The area is quiet and the home is set apart nicely at the end of the road.
A nice, quiet place that's just a quick drive to the beach.
This house worked out really well for our family as it is situated on a dead end with zero traffic to watch out for. When we weren't out at the beach or doing some other activity, the kids played soccer, tag, and ninjas in the front yard. It was nice when they asked if they could walk the dog around and we could say "yes" without fear of a car going by. Inside the house was just what we needed: clean rooms, one level, great AC, stocked kitchen, laundry, couches and TV, and comfortable beds. We also enjoyed that there was shade outside on hot days and a carport to park under, which kept our vehicle from getting scorching hot inside. The owner, Mike, was easy going and was available to call if we needed to ask a question or something. We would definitely stay there again if we go back to Ocean Isle Beach in the future.
Private and full of wildlife. Loved watching the deer in the morning. Saw a small fox also. Kids loved the large yard and fishing on the two docks available. It was super peaceful and perfect for anyone needing a break. Close enough to beach but private enough to enjoy being on “beach time” even though that wasn’t our case. Highly recommend. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen was fully stocked with all utensils, pots, pans and dishes. Two tvs one in the living room and second in the master bed room. My favorite thing was the big shower in the master. I wasn’t the biggest fan of the toilet in the master bathroom just because there is an ac vent right under your feet when you are sitting. It’s shocking when it cuts on and blows straight up at you. Easily fixed by moving the bathroom rug over it while using the bathroom (closing it is always an option but doesn’t 100% block it). Other wise an amazing stay.

I am a Montgomery County Maryland School Teacher. I love Ocean Isle Beach for the beach, fishing, golfing and kayaking in the marshes along our inter-coastal waterway where I like to fish and take lots of photos.
Why they chose this property
The community has two piers and a boat ramp which we love to use. It is surrounded by beautiful beaches and golf courses. The people are warm, friendly and helpful.
What makes this property unique
Great fishing off our piers, excellent boat ramp, Bricks Landing Gold Course directly across the street.
