THE HUMPHREY HUGHES HOUSE is an equisite seaside historic estate - circa 1900 - located in the heart of the Cape May historic district. 29 Ocean Street is one block to the beach and 2 blocks to the Washington Street Mall surrounded by the finest restaurants and historic Victorian Beauty. The expansive front covered porch offers relaxing enjoyment, with ocean views and salt water breezes as the horse and carriages slowly pass by. Enter through the front door you are greeted with Victorian era woodwork and design, a beautiful hand carved staircase, a sitting room, formal liviing room and stained glass windows. The formal dining room is graciously appointed with dining for 10 guests and there is an stowed dining table that will assemble to accomodate additional guests in the adjacent living room. The glass enclosed sun porch located off the dining room and parlor offer views facing east to the beach and promenade. There is also a Queen en suite bedroom on this floor. On the 2nd floor there are an additional 4 bedrooms, one bedroom has an attached sitting room and all are with en suites bathrooms. The 3rd floor boasts an additional 4 King Bedrooms, one bedroom with an attached sitting room and all are with en suite bathrooms . The basement floor offers access with no steps and a separate basement apartment with a King Bedroom, en suite bathroom, and kitchenette with direct access to the main house. There is also a Garden Apartment suite with a King bedroom and an en suite bathroom with a separate entrance off of Ocean Street, this garden suite does not have direct access to the main house. This property was formally operated as The Humphrey Hughes Seaside Inn, a premier Bed and Breakfast Inn. This Historic Estate is now available as a single family home sleeping 28 people, all bedrooms are en-suite with your own cable TV. Linens and bathing towels are provided. There is a $535 cleaning fee for all stays.
