About this property
Luxury 5-BR Mountain Estate 10-min to Manchester
Summary:
Welcome to Green Haven! Set on 12 acres with mountain views, this luxurious home near Dorset and Manchester is a perfect retreat for all seasons. With five bedrooms, four bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, a living room with fireplace, and a pool table, it comfortably hosts up to 10 guests. Once a thriving apple orchard, this private retreat is now a quiet road leading up to Owls Head mountain. Ideal for family getaways, peaceful retreats, or enjoying Vermont’s natural beauty and local charm.
The Space:
Full 5-BR home located in Dorset, Vermont.
Lots of space to relax indoors and out! Do puzzles, read, two smart TVs to watch your favorite shows, or go for walks up the road or down the lane. Sleep in comfy beds with mattress toppers and 300-450 thread count sheets. Cook anything your culinary heart desires, or fire up the BBQ grill for an outdoor feast.
One of the rooms features two twin beds, which can be seamlessly converted into a king-size bed using the converter kit available in the closet.
For your viewing pleasure, there are two Smart TVs on the property: The larger TV is in the living room’s white hutch. The second is located in the common area’s brown hutch. Both TVs are connected to the internet. Guests may log into their streaming services via the TV's apps. Please remember to log out before checking out to avoid future guests accessing your account content.
Please do not leave doors or windows open when running the AC; this causes water to accumulate in the HVAC system and will very quickly cause ceiling leaks.
We are on a septic system, which means nothing other than septic-safe TP can be flushed (no sanitary products, flushable wipes, etc.).
During winter and rainy weather, we ask that everyone enter through the side door on the lower level, as we do not have a space for coats/shoes on the upper level.
Preparing your holiday feast? You will find more kitchenware in the white pantry on the first floor, and additional plates/dishes in the white cabinetry below the TV.
Dogs are permitted on a case by case basis subject to breed and weight restrictions. Please message us if you are interested in bringing your furry friend.
Absolutely no smoking, vaping, or use of marijuana products. Use of these products will result in an additional $1500 cleaning fee.
The property is equipped with a doorbell camera at the front entrance and an additional camera inside the detached garage, which is used to confirm trash pick-ups on Wednesdays.
Guest Access:
Accessible with smart lock; no contact with host required.
You'll be able to access all living/sleeping areas aside from the north end of the house (everything shown in the pictures).
The Neighborhood:
Located in Dorset and just down the road from the shops and restaurants of Manchester, and 11 miles to Bromley and 22 miles to Stratton Mountain ski areas. Dorset is a four-season destination offering high-end dining, boutiques, year-round outdoor activities, swimming holes and hikes galore, and a vibrant arts and culture scene. Here’s just a brief selection of what’s available to you:
- 0.5 miles from H.N. Williams General Store, offering grocery staples, wine, coffee bar, wines, sandwich counter (don’t miss their breakfast sandwiches!), and gourmet food to-go. Great place to grab food for a picnic. It also hosts the Dorset Farmer’s Market on Sundays, one of the top-rated farmers markets in the area.
- 0.7 miles from the Dorset Quarry, a famous local swimming hole that was the source for the marble for the New York Public Library, the Met, and several Harvard buildings.
- Just down the road (~1 mile) from downtown Dorset, including the Barrows House, Dorset Union Store (homemade pies, sandwiches, to-go foods, wines, coffee, and local specialties), Dorset Inn, and the Dorset Playhouse.
- Just down the road (~8 minute drive) from downtown Manchester, including the Northshire Bookstore (don’t miss the third floor dedicated to children’s books and toys), and numerous restaurants, ice cream places, breakfast spots, groceries, and shops and boutiques. Historic Manchester also has a number of high-end restaurants.
- 15 min to Emerald Lake State Park, with hiking and swimming for the whole family. Kayaks are usually available to rent.
- 5 min from Peace Street, a local swimming hole and wading spot that is the perfect place to cool off on a hot day.
- 5 min from North Meadow Farm, a local source for cheese, raw milk, ice cream, and petting zoo for kids.
- Convenient to 3 ski resorts: Bromley (18 min), Stratton (30 min), Okemo (45 min).
