Cherry floors, natural wood details, and comprehensive amenities, insure a comfortable mountain vacation experience you will not soon forget.

This home is located in the heart of rural Alpine County and is only 22 miles to Kirkwood and to Tahoe, 1 mile to downtown Markleeville, and 3 miles to Grover Hot Springs. Fish, Swim, Kayak or raft, in the nearby East Fork of the Carson River, numerous hiking trails starting at your front door, rock climbing at Woodfords Canyon, explore the old mining districts, and just get away from it all.

Amazing Cabin and Property

The pictures do not do it justice. Fully stocked with all the amenities. Just up the road from natural hot springs and the charming town of Markleeville. The owner was very responsive and understanding to some last-minute requests.

Markleeville Hideout

this is a wonderful spot, just up the road from "town." The home is beautiful and has the feeling of being lived in and loved. Cooking in this kitchen is a five star review! very nice. and the second best part is the very large (10' wide) window in the master bedroom. Owner/manager is quite responsive which was an added bonus!

Enjoyable Stay

My family enjoyed their time at the house. The kitchen had enough dishes for our large family and we could all eat at the large table. Communication with Ben was excellent. He responded quickly to my inquiries. He checked on us couple of times to make sure we were doing well. He really showed he cared that we would enjoy our time there. We went fishing in the area and did a hike at Grover Hot Springs Park. The house is in a nice neighborhood where we took evening walks. Thank you, Ben, for sharing your home.

Wedding gathering

This property worked well for friends from afar to gather. Room to be alone or together. Could use a few more amenities in the bedrooms, mirrors, better lighting , and closet space ( master closet was full of owner's stuff). Towels need replacing. Otherwise it was just fine.

Family Getaway During Death Ride Weekend

We were looking for lodging for the 2019 Death Ride bicycle event and found this large house close to the start in Markleeville. Booking was a breeze and the owner was easy to contact for questions as the date approached. We invited our kids and grandkids and found the home to be comfortable and family friendly for our 3 day stay. The kitchen is terrific and the views of forest are relaxing. We would definitely rent this house again.

Perfect

This was the 2nd Thanksgiving myself, my husband and our adopted family (friends) spent at this home. We had a blast. The kitchen makes entertaining a large crowd a pleasure. The appliances, utensils and bakeware/cookware are all high quality and well stocked. While I do bring some things from home (like a large turkey roasting pan, and extra large serving bowls) to do a more formal dinner, most people serving casual meals will find everything they need to feed a group, including a large number of place settings. The house is cozy, and warm, and is easy for a small - medium group to spread out and enjoy themselves. Lovely dark wood trim gives this place a nice feel. The surrounding area never disappoints, if you are an outdoorsy sort of person. So many beautiful areas to see whether just driving or doing serious hiking. Garnerville is about 25 minutes away for large quantity or specific provisions, and the Markleeville store has a great selection of odds and ends which a person may need. I highly recommend this rental. Ben is a pleasure to work with, and checking in/out is a snap, and very user friendly. Thanks, Ben, for another fantastic trip. We are yet again, already talking about next year.

The best Thanksgiving week ever!!

Our party visited Ben's place during the week of Thanksgiving. Amazing time of year to visit. We had such a variety of weather that every taste in weather was presented. We had sunny lovely days, windy, blustery, fall like days, rain, and 6" of snow. We hiked, we enjoyed the large and well stocked kitchen, we sang to the classic music provided by the record collection, we put together a puzzle and enjoyed the fire. On day three, several in our party were already discussing "when we come back next year....." Ben was super easy to work with, answered all my questions thoroughly and thoughtfully, and getting into the home was a piece of cake. The space of the home is undersold in the pictures; it's much roomy than it appears. Lots of extra blankets too. We walked down Hot Springs Road a ways to the west at night, and the view of the Milky Way was amazing. This home is a great value, I highly recommend it if you are seeking to stay in this area.

Wonderful Alpine County House

Our group loved this woodsy cabin set among the Aspen trees in the small town of Markleeville. The house was beautiful and comfortable. It is close to great hiking, biking, swimming, and hot springs without being in the crowds at Lake Tahoe. I highly recommend this house. And Ben the owner was very responsive and helpful.

Charming and Comfortable

My friends and I stayed at this Markleeville home for the 4th of July weekend, and we were very comfortable there. The downstairs is laid out perfectly for gathering and entertaining. The kitchen has a big central island which makes it easy for friends to sit and visit while others cook. Nice modern appliances and cookware, make the place feel like someone's home and not a rental. The kitchen opens onto the dining room and sunken living room, which has enough space for several adults to gather comfortably. There is a great collection of vinyl records and several toys to keep children under 10 entertained. We spent a lot of time on the deck, barbequing and enjoying the warm summer evening. The house is slightly off the beaten path, in the woods. Other houses are visible, but it certainly feels private. About a 5 minute drive to "downtown" Markleeville and about 30 minutes to Kirkwood. Some other great mountain lakes are within an hour's drive. I would definitely recommend this place for a weekend getaway, and we my group hopes to return next year. Best Regards, Jim Brenza

Perfect house for our fall getaway

My family and I loved our stay at this house in Markleeville. We came to see fall colors in the area and there was a beautiful grove of aspen right in front of the house that we admired the whole time. The location was perfect - close to many good hikes - a few that you can do right from the house. The property itself is peaceful and there was plenty of room for our group of 5 adults and 2 kids. Great kitchen, nice open feeling to the downstairs, and comfortable bedrooms upstairs. We felt at home here right away. Thanks for a wonderful weekend stay - we hope to be back again next year!
