About this property

LARGE CLASSIC FARMHOUSE ON 18 ACRES

"Chip & Joanna Gaines--but real!" is how one guest described it. Enjoy the country feel with city access. This magnificent almost 100-year-old historic farm house is an icon with the original charm and updated with modern amenities. Its four bedrooms have a simple elegance, and everything you need for a restful and pleasant stay. The three-story home includes a sun room, living room with fireplace, and dining room that serves 8, as well as a sunlit kitchen available for guest use.

The kitchen is built for entertaining, with a gas stainless steel convection oven with four top burners and a double-door fridge. It is fully stocked with dishware, silverware, coffee makers, pots and pans, and cooking essentials. Soapstone counters overlook a nook perfect for a relaxing breakfast. Just outside, enjoy the outdoor spaces for meals or morning coffee, or to enjoy the sunrise or sunsets during summer. Nearby are happy goats and a 2 horses named Tennessee and Roanoke.

Situated on 18 acres of pasture with wetlands and a waterway, the farm is in the countryside west of Eaton overlooking the Rocky Mountain range. Walks around the property reveal the charm of country life. The farm is located alongside the Great Western Trailway that travels between Eaton and Severance and is open to pedestrians and bicyclists.

This location is ideal for visitors traveling in the Fort Collins, Greeley, Windsor, and Cheyenne areas as well as to the Pawnee Grasslands, and is conveniently located approximately 15 minutes from I-25 and just minutes from Hwy 14 and 85. Nearby towns and cities offer many opportunities for fine dining, golfing, recreation facilities, water sports, skiing, hiking, antiquing, and shopping. Chimney Park restaurant in Windsor has one of Colorado’s top rated chefs. Eaton has a full-service grocery store, unique shops, and an old town flavor. Fort Collins is a trendy, vibrant city with an array of award-winning microbreweries. Greeley offers a slower feel with city conveniences, local breweries, civic center, rec facilities and the historic Stampede Rodeo.

The owners do their best to live sustainably, raising healthy and happy goats, chickens, and assorted farm animals along with flowers, organic garden vegetables and native pasture grasses. Solar panels collect energy, and recycling and composting are encouraged. Eggs, honey products, and handcrafted items are also for sale. In 2022, geothermal was added to heat and cool the home and heat the water. We also have a PureWash Pro laundry system for doing laundry without detergents--just cold water!

This home and its individual rooms are perfect for families visiting students, visitors attending weddings, corporate stays for traveling professionals, artists and writers or anyone looking to have a relaxing Colorado country experience. The owners are onsite to address questions and offer a cup of coffee or tea, tours, or just a conversation.

Perfect Place for Family Gathering

We gathered as a family to celebrate my mother’s 90th birthday. Harmon Farm was the perfect place to stay while visiting with our family from the Eaton area. The owners were very accommodating, providing a crib and high chair for our 5 month old baby. We were able to have family meals with a spacious, well appointed kitchen and were able to sit around a large dining room table. The space was clean, inviting and very esthetic and comfortable. We were able to take outdoor walks, enjoyed viewing the animals and had fresh farm eggs available every morning. It was a wonderful experience and we hope to spend more time at Harmon Farm in the future where “the good life” is sincerely modeled by Amii and Tom.

Stressful stay

Our recent family stay for our daughter’s wedding ended with added stress & anxiety. We had booked this “picture perfect” home as it was large enough for our family to gather. We had discussions with the owner as to the “1st look” pictures that were to take place on Sat morning of the wedding. The photographer arrived at 7:15 but did not come into the house till about 7:30 as she was organizing her equipment.Hair, makeup & additional bridesmaids were to arrive at 8:00.Some arrived early as to the location of the home. By 8:30 the owner, Amii had already knocked at the door threatening to charge us an hourly event fee .This was the first time Amii mentioned this could be considered an event & the charges. The groomsman arrived in a “party bus” at the scheduled 10:30 (owner notified prior). We were notified that a couple groomsmen did “relieve” themselves near the barn.We apologized as this was in poor taste & talked to the groom about this.Pictures were to take place from 10:30-12:00 then we were headed out for the wedding ceremony & reception. At 11:00 Amii came out once again threatening to call the Sheriff’s &to evict us from the home, there was no disorderly conduct. At that time we had to end our photo session with hopes to continue at the picturesque reception site.Keeping our cool at this time was difficult as the owner definitely put a damper on this special day.In the rush of leaving our daughters father in law had locked up the dogs but didn’t kennel up one of the dogs.Amii was upset about this but seeing as we never signed an official pet agreement with the rules we felt “oh well” he got out. Both dogs are well behaved.2 weeks after our stay Amii informed us the dogs scratched up the stairs? This did not happen from our stay.We did a walk through with her before our departure on Sunday and this was not brought up.We also notified Amii about some issues -the downstairs bathroom that was not cleaned.Shower was moldy & had wet towels hanging inside the shower.Owners response “my bad”.The windows have no screens on them so it appears they are left open quite frequently(lots of dead moths & flies amongst the settled outdoor dust as well as an abundance of bug excrement on all of the window coverings)Linens were clean except for the 1/2 dozen black bugs that were behind our pillows.Owner should have adequate smoke detectors & fire extinguishers as well.We paid the add'l fee.In hindsight a local hotel would have been the best option

Fun Farm Getaway with Grandkids

My sister and I, along with our mom (GG), host our grandkids (ages 3,4,5) for a few days of fun. We decided to check out Amii and Tom's farm and everyone loved the house and location. The kitchen was great for teaching the kids how to roll dough for apple pies and bake the pies. There were indoor and outdoor activities (balls, games, crayons, etc). The highlight was feeding and grooming the horse, Tennesse, watching the chickens - and the GOATS!! We LOVED playing with the goats. Amii took the girls (ages 4 and 5) to the garden and helped them pick bouquets that they were so proud of. We had plenty of room to spread out and the beds were comfortable. The basement was perfect for the toys we brought along because the kids could spread them out for playing and they loved having an area of the house dedicated for playing with their toys - the adults loved this too :-)

Its farm life!

If you are looking to get away from city life this is the location for you. Fresh eggs and lovely view of the surrounding snow capped mountains. Tennessee ( the horse ) loves carrots ! Be ready for no a/c -- fans are provided. Only suggestion for the property owner would be invest in screens for all the windows so that they can be opened to allow more airflow and keep the critters out.

Gorgeous sunrises and sunsets

A lovely old farmhouse with all modern amenities. Beautiful views of farmland. We were here for the Australian Shepherd National competition in Greeley so did not have as much time as we wanted to enjoy the patio, garden and lawns. I loved having everything I needed to cook dinners when I was too tired to go out. My bed was super comfy. The large laundry room and excellent washer and dryer were a real plus. Amit welcomed us with a dozen farm eggs and to die for delicious honey ambrosia. We will miss our home away from home in Eaton, Colorado.

Wonderful!

Thank you Amii for a great trip! Your beautiful home was close enough to Boulder and Fort Collins to easily attend commencement ceremonies, and far enough away to feel relaxed and out of the city. Everything was wonderful about the home- beds were comfortable, kitchen had everything one needed, bathrooms were convenient and very clean. We so appreciate the time with you to visit the animals and a history lesson of the farm. Hope we can find a reason to visit again!

Excellent place to stay! Loved it!

Our family loved staying here! The house was beautiful and spacious, and there was plenty of room outside to play games or just enjoy the beautiful Colorado scenery. The owners were extremely accommodating and took care of every need. We will definitely stay here again!

A spacious and quiet retreat in a luxurious country setting

The farmhouse is well furnished, comfortable, perfectly suited our needs for a quiet spot for reunion and a base from which to travel to see the eclipse totality. Our hosts are pleasant, helpful, and always ready for kids questions about farm operations. They supplied us with a dozen eggs each morning. Overall this was a heartwarming, comforting experience priced exactly correctly!

Relaxing farmhouse

My husband and our adult children stayed here for a family wedding nearby. The house was well equipped and totally charming. Amii could not have been nicer and my family (including a visit from my brother and sister in law) thoroughly enjoyed her farm tour. The 10 day old baby goats also a plus!

Spacious, clean, comfortable, beautiful home.

We had such a fun stay at this home! We traveled to Fort Collins for our daughter's wedding and this house had plenty of room for all of us to spread out comfortably yet gather together for meals without feeling crowded. There are only two bathrooms, but we managed just fine. We never ran out of hot water with so many of us using the showers. The second level that has all the bedrooms is impressive. The hallway is so wide and the sun lights it up so well. The kitchen is country styled with an old charm, but updated at the same time. We were lucky to stay when the goats were having their babies. Our 6 year old grandson was able to witness the birth of a goat. He was very impressed with that. The pigs, chickens and horse were also so fun to watch. Hours of entertainment just watching the animals. We enjoyed the yard also. We were able to set up yard games, light a fire in the fire pit, and relax in the shade of a tree with all the available seating they had outside. The idea of staying in someone else's home seems awkward at first, but we felt at home immediately. So much better than staying in a hotel. The owners were so kind and helpful!! Great stay! Great memories!

We had a magical Christmas vacation at this immaculately kept farm!

We brought a "full house" ... 8 people and our dogs. We never felt cramped. Big bedrooms and bathrooms, "man cave" in the basement with a bar and fireplace. Great for playing cards, dice and watching football. Modern kitchen with formal dining room and sunny breakfast nook. Had all the utensils provided for cooking our big holiday meals. Lots of space outside for walking and playing with outside toys. Close to Fort Collins and Greeley. Owners responded very quickly before and during our stay with answers to any questions we had about the house or the area. They even provided a park pass.

Lovely Gathering Place

This home and farm was a fun and unique place for us to gather with family and friends. Although some people from other parts of the country seem uncomfortable with wide open spaces and sparse vegetation, we are partial to the semi-arid rural plains of Colorado, so it was a nice change from other rental options. The home was comfortable and the kitchen well equipped for cooking and spending time together. As another reviewer noted, it was restful and we slept well in comfortable and quiet bedrooms. Amii and Tom 's responses to our questions and requests were consistently supportive, enhancing our time here. The tour Amii gave us of the farm animals was well worth it because the goats are the cutest, most curious I have ever personally observed and the pigs are the happiest, yes happiest pigs I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. Thank you Amii and Tom for a memorable, lovely time.

Beautiful, cozy, and relaxing farm house.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the farm house. The house was more than we needed for most nights with 3 of us. But also a accommodated our other 3 adult daughters for a week. The kitchen supplies made it easy to prepare meals and having eggs and pork products from the farm was a nice touch. Our stay was prompted by leaving our daughter at CSU FOCO. It was the best scenario for us. Close enough to visit often but far enough to get us to explore more of Colorado. A test for our family is did we rest? Yes, this house passed the test. We loved our stay! We especially loved visiting the farm animals. The goats call out, the pigs are pretty quiet but fun, our favorite was watching horses play. We are horse people so we got to spend some fun time with Amii and the horses. We'll be back!

It's the real deal.

Nice old farmhouse, meticulously restored and updated, without losing it's original charm. And, yes, it really is a farm, if only a hobby farm- the pigs and goats are all happy to be fed and petted. The owners were friendly and accessible, but not at all intrusive. (They are on-site, in a different building) If you like city stuff, this might not be for you, but otherwise...highly recommended.

Lovely, welcoming home on a charming hobby farm

I can't say enough good things about our stay at this property! The house is large, airy, and full of interesting and charming details. We loved the wood floors and beautiful antique furniture, as well as the many thoughtful touches throughout. And the farm is pure storybook -- the animals are gorgeous, well cared-for, and friendly. (I've never met snugglier goats.) Amii was extremely accessible and helpful during the whole process, and it was great to spend some time with her and her husband Tom when we were there. Highly recommended!
