Summary:
Sea Myst is the perfect quiet getaway for up to four people!

The Space:
Very private with no close-by neighbors. Bring your friends along and explore the nearby meadow trails or take a short stroll to Walk On Beach.
 
The living room is situated with a comfortable sectional that takes advantage of the wonderful ocean view. A gas fireplace and a Smart TV with streaming capabilities. The fireplace is controlled comfortably by a remote for you to turn on and off with ease.
 
The kitchen is well equipped with a toaster, drip coffee maker, blender, conventional electric oven with warming tray, induction cooktop and more to make you feel right at home. By the kitchen, the spiral staircase takes you up to a loft with a small office space. Bring your laptop to get some work done on your getaway!
 
Each bedroom has a California King bed with a TV and wrap around deck access. Great ocean views from each room. The master bedroom has an en suite bathroom and an electric fireplace with a remote. The back bedroom has a freestanding gas fireplace.
 
Outside on the patio, there is a gas BBQ. Enjoy lunch outdoors on the patio table or take a soak in the hot tub for the most amazing star gazing.
 
There are 2 driveway parking spots. There is a 40amp Tesla vehicle charger. Only Tesla's will be compatible with the charger.

The Sea Ranch is a planned community with over 3000 acres featuring: The Historic Sea Ranch Chapel, The Sea Ranch lodge (restaurant and shopping), a 50-mile trail system with 6 public beach access points, dog park, and 3 recreation centers with outdoor pools, locker rooms, half-basketball court, and tennis courts (amenities vary with each center) for guest use. RV's, trailers, or mobile homes are strictly not allowed.
 
The Sea Ranch facility reservations for pool and tennis are available on the Sea Ranch Association website. The trails and beaches are open.

- Due to the spiral staircase, outside fire pit and roof access, this home is not recommended for children.
- This home has a maximum occupancy of 4 people.
- 2 security cameras are attached on the exterior of the home, facing the driveway for security purposes and overlooking the back patio.
- Please note that this home can accommodate up to 1 dog (up to 40 lbs), with an additional Pet Fee of $150 per stay.

House was fine, good location, view of ocean. Skimpy on instructions for use of fireplace in living area & heating. No central heat. Instructions for locking front door not correct - figured it out after several attempts. No instructions for TV, etc. Upstairs deck with lots of bird poop, spider webs, and debris - great view, but not comfortable to use. I thought I was renting thru VRBO - was surprised that it was a different agency that contacted me and provided contract - would have gone thru local agency we have used in the past had I known. If VRBO, have always dealt with owner. Camera outside house - who was watching? Agency? Owner? Privacy issue! Thank goodness weather was great, sunsets beautiful!

Beautiful home in a great location

We had a wonderful, relaxing three night getaway. The home was updated with nice amenities, fully stocked kitchen (gift basket in fridge), great views, very quiet and private and a short walk to trails. We could hear the ocean at night, enjoyed the hot tub and seeing deer and harbor seals.

Peaceful , stunning views, wonderful light and calm

Second time in this home after multiple visits to Sea Ranch, by far my favorite. Lovely views from all rooms, great light. The bedrooms each have access to the terrace from where you have unobstructed views of both the meadows and sea. Cozy comfortable living area with expansive views. We saw deer, rabbits and some sort of wildcat, raptors and voles. Love the fire pit, a classy new addition. Wonderful place. Highly recommend for a true Sea Ranch experience. Also, there were some questions and Alejandra and the 888 line were very responsive, which I appreciate. For mobility impaired; while not technically ADA, house is flat inside and easy access bedroom and bathroom. I had no issue with my walker.

Great Location and Wonderful Stay

My wife and I had a wonderful 9 night stay here in June 2024. This vacation home was clean, cupboards were well stocked, and the pots and pans were in very good condition (sometimes the pans provided look as old as the home). Some thoughts: * Supplies were limited (TP, Paper Towels, Dishwasher soap, trash bags) for a 9 night stay. A couple boxes of Kleenex would have been nice. * Electric stove operation is a bit complicated, took a bit to figure out. * Heat was fireplaces in bedrooms and living room with a wall mounted heater by front door. Like the stove, it takes a bit to get used to them. * Privacy - great views through the windows but they only have see through mesh screens on them to dim the sunlight. Trail next to house with hikers can look right into the bedrooms even with the screens down. Curtains in the bedrooms would be nice. Overall we had a great time and would definitely recommend this home. Next time we visit Sea Ranch we will consider staying here again!

Sheep and raccoons!

Great location - have stayd at Sea Ranch before. Nice home w/ some updates. Sheep were directly next door and could be disturbing at 5:30 in the morning! Also, 2 got out and were roaming around the property (actually, very cute!) Owners need to update locks on screens as screens were closed but racoons have figured out how to open them and enter the house. It was a very close call!

Great location in Sea Ranch

We enjoyed a lovely 5 day stay here. Would return especially due to the great location and view; also, it was very clean and had up to date appliances. Nice welcome basket with waters and snacks was appreciated. The home is very close to Del Mar Recreation Center for swimming, and we found lap pool online reservation system great. We had deer every morning and a racoon visit at night. However, the email instructions could use an update: instructed to drive to Guala but when we arrived there, the property manager rep said to go to the home as there was an electric keypad. Thus, we didn't need to drive the 15 minutes our of our way. Instruction email contained conflicting info - should be house specific. Home should have instruction binder for appliances/hot tub cover/tv, etc. We had to google several times to determine information on usage of appliances and hot tub cover. Generally, any homes we have stayed in have a binder with instructions specific to the home items and includes information on local area restaurants/trails, directions, etc. For example, if I had not stayed at Sea Ranch before it would have been confusing to know about the pool reservation system or even where the facility was located. All that aside, this is one of the best locations we have stayed at in Sea Ranch over many years of visiting. The Property Management company should ensure that the welcome email is accurate, and that home information is provided and is accurate and up to date.

A very clean and well-maintained house with views of the ocean and a hot tub. An excellent location and sea ranch because you’re very close to a beach. You can walk down onto and have lovely ocean views.

Great Sea Ranch Escaoe

Beautiful home, wonderful views. Perfect for four adults. Loved the fireplaces in each room. Nice hot tub as well. Great location within Sea Ranch.

Management company cancelled on us after check-in and we were settled.

The management company was terrible. They cancelled our reservation two hours after check-in because the garbage disposal was backed up. We offered not to use the sink that was backed up, but they cancelled anyway and moved us to a property outside of Sea Ranch that was subpar and dirty. We spent most of the weekend packing/unpacking and shuffling around. The home was beautiful but overall was a terrible experience.

What a beautiful setting

We had such a wonderful stay at Sea Myst. The home is comfortable and welcoming. The views are amazing, both from indoors and the deck . We enjoyed time out on the deck taking in the views of the ocean and the local wildlife. We had no clouds the entire trip making for amazing stargazing. We took advantage of the trails so close to the house for walks and access to the beaches. Overall, a wonderful visit to Sea Ranch!

The perfect retreat

Sea ranch is an amazing place for a relaxing vacation. Beach combing, biking, walking/ hiking, returning home to such a well appointed house was such a pleasure. We had everything we needed to make our week one of the best ever birthday trips.

Everything as advertised

We've stayed at the Sea Ranch many times and we would give this house high marks for views, amenities and privacy. We brought our 5 year old black lab and the trail to the bluff was conveniently nearby. The hot tub cover was a little tricky but we figured it out. Would stay here again.

Girlfriend Getaway

Great setup for two friends or two couples. Two large bedrooms and two bathrooms. Walk to beach. Views from every window. Very modern appliances, lighting, good gas BBQ. Great hot tub. Would definitely consider renting this house again.

Beautiful Birthday Spent at Sea Ranch

We enjoyed a great stay at Sea Myst. The two master bedrooms were perfect for us, as a couple with their mother who were out to celebrate a birthday. The property was exactly as described in the listing and shown in pictures. We had everything we needed to prepare several meals. We enjoyed using the deck and all it offers to enjoy the sweeping views. The views from inside are beautiful as well. It didn’t hurt that we had some magical days with no fog! we enjoyed seeing the local wildlife from the windows and deck in the morning and evenings. We enjoyed walks on the trails and on the beaches. Our communication with the property manager was also good. We hope to come back in the future. Thank you to the owners for sharing their beautiful home with us.

Sea ranch base

Great location close to two sandy beaches with caves and tide pools and the main coastal trail. Far enough from highway 1 that there is no traffic noise. The hot tub, gas BBQ, and fire pit made it fun to hang out in the backyard. Deer came through the yard several times. There was no shampoo or conditioner, but maybe that was due to covid limitations.

Comments for the owner: 1. Grill cover on deck is badly torn and should be replaced. 2. Takes a while to warm up in the morning since no central heating. 3. A small indoor table to eat at (in addition to the counter) would be nice.

Lovely Labor Day Weekend Retreat

We enjoyed our blissful stay at Sea Myst. Newly updated, the unit had everything we needed: utensils, dishes, cutlery, supplies, new appliances, and more. The space was designed for both shared time as a family with two adults and one dog, as well as quiet time on the deck, upstairs in a small office loft, in the spacious and well separated bedrooms, and of course, for walks to the beach and along the paths and bluffs of Sea Ranch. Deer, quail, pelicans, and even a sea otter, were spotted in the long lovely days during our stay. Hope to return again soon!

Peaceful, tasteful sanctuary for a restful stay in nature

Gorgeous property. Very well decorated, lots of light, wraparound balcony with views in all directions. We saw the sunset every night. Hot tub is a great feature as is the grill. House is small but perfectly proportioned for a family or group of friends. Excellent location, far enough for quiet and privacy but close enough to get on main road etc. note, house is almost handicapped accessible, so if you need this depending on your mobility constraints ask. I found it quite accessible overall compared to other properties. Rec center and amenities like golf etc. also are terrific. All in all a wonderful place!

Lovely Sea Ranch

This property is just as the pictures indicate. The views were amazing and the hot tub inviting. We even had a fox visit us in the evening. It’s was just a short walk to the beach and trails. My only suggestion would be to use unscented laundry detergent. Many people are sensitive to smells as I am and the scented laundry soap was not pleasant for me. The home is lovely and the kitchen well supplied. I would stay there again.

Amazing Beach Access, but Average Home & Impersonal Experience

The best thing about this property is it's walkable proximity to the beach. A 5-minute walk had us enjoying the beach frequently. Not all Sea Ranch properties are able to provide that. The outdoor hot tub was really nice and gave amazing star gazing opportunities at night. The home itself was comfortable, but nothing special. Most of the furnishings and finishes were average with few stand standouts (the tiling in both showers is gorgeous). Also I didn't find the layout of the place to be very intuitive. The entryway – right into the living room – was particularly bad with very little room to maneuver with a huge sectional blocking access to the coat closet. In spite of a nice packet of info – which we unfortunately had to go into the Gualala office to pick up – not everything we needed to know was in that packet (although we initially assumed it did). There were information sheets about heating in each room in addition to labels on the wall. Only after two days did we find a binder of information which replicated everything else plus contained additional information. It would help to have had less duplication and to have had that binder set out on the kitchen bar to easily find it. In general, there was a marked lack of personalization to our stay which may be due, in part, to COVID adaptations. Each email we received was very formal and clearly based on a business template. In addition to the VRBO agreements the rental agency required us to sign their own agreement outside VRBO. We never received any communication that felt personal or specific to us. It was very clear we were working with a rental agency who has properties all around the country. Not interacting with individual owners took away much of the appeal of the VRBO experience. The issues I'm listing did not, in anyway, ruin our vacation, but are enough that I wouldn't choose to stay at this place again.
