About this property

Gorgeous Tiny Home on Cliff's Edge - 4WD/AWD Access Only

Affectionately referred to as "Tiny," your home away from home has all the comforts: a small but mighty kitchen stocked with high-end cookware, a gorgeous bedroom with skylight for watching the stars under the covers of your own queen sized bed, and a spa-like bathroom that has a rainfall shower. The cottage is nestled near the edge of an abandoned quarry, yielding unforgettable views. Enjoy coffee on the screened in porch or take advantage of the property's remoteness by stargazing from our open deck. When the weather is right, make a fire in our solo stove fire pit and talk the night away. There is no television in the cottage (there's plenty to do outside!) but we do have high-speed fiber internet if you want to bring your own device to veg out.

It's ultimate comfort away from the worries of the world.

Outside of "Tiny", the property is yours to explore! Enjoy rugged hiking trails or go off the beaten path to find little alcoves and hidden treasures. Trek down to the three-acre pond to watch the ducks, geese, and other wildlife. Bring a fishing pole to catch (and release!) large-mouth bass and bluegill. Looking for a river adventure? Hike down to the other side of the mountain and splash around in the 1500 feet of frontage on the Rockfish River. Bring kayaks upriver and take a leisurely float back "home" over small yet exciting rapids. Your own private playground awaits!

For those who want to go farther afield, Nelson County and the surrounding area is home to a wide range of attractions. A short 30-minute drive will put you into Charlottesville where you can watch a UVA game or just enjoy the town. Numerous hikes and outdoor destinations are within 45 minutes including Natural Bridge State Park, Crabtree Falls, and the Blue Ridge Parkway. You can even reach out to James River Runners to arrange for a tubing trip. We are also lucky to have world-class breweries, wineries, and distilleries within a 30-minute drive. Our favorites include Devil's Backbone Basecamp and Meadows, Blue Mountain Brewery, Virginia Distillery Company, Afton Mountain Vineyards, and Brent Manor Vineyards to name a few. Live music and summer events are common across the County and we're happy to help you choose the best combo of activities to make your trip unforgettable.

Super cute mini home
Amazing mini home with not so mini views! Sunrises were spectacular but the hidden gem are the stars at night.

Anniversary Weekend Celebration
My girlfriend and I celebrated our one year and had a wonderful stay at the cabin. The hosts were first rate, and the cabin was nicely secluded and nestled on a cliff with breathtaking views. The cabin had all the essentials including a kitchen to cook, firepit, rainforest shower, phenomenal speakers that you could toggle inside and out plus a handful of recommendations of places to check out locally in the area. Stacy and her husband made the entire process seamless. Highly recommend!

Little Piece of Heaven
My husband and I came here for our honeymoon and it was perfect! The views are gorgeous, with beautiful sunrises off the deck. It is so peaceful and quiet with everything you need. The pond is a nice hike from the house with plenty of fish to be caught and thrown back for the next time. Our hosts were responsive and attentive to anything we needed. If you are looking for a secluded getaway up in the mountains and enjoy the outdoors, this property is perfection!! We look forward to coming back again.

Magical
Our host, Stacy, met us upon arrival and showed us around the property. She offered up some suggestions of places to visit in the area and a little history about the area as well. The tiny home was clean, had everything we needed and wanted while choosing to disconnect for a few days. The quiet of the home and views from the screened in porch were just what we needed to slow down. The serenity was magical, in our opinion. Stacy was an attentive host and I was thrilled we found this gem. Looking forward to returning soon!
