About this property
Sunlit Cottage in the Hudson Valley near train and Main!
NOTE: By city ordinance this listing has a minimum 30- day stay. Contact me with any questions.
Flooded with light and charm, this cozy 100+ year old cottage is on a quiet street that backs up to the golf course for endless views. Fully renovated while retaining historic appeal, the 5-10 minute walk to Main Street or the Beacon train depot make it perfect for a leisurely vacation or work from home stay.
Passing through the generous front porch, you enter the great room brimming with light from the 12 original windows and 2 French doors. An open plan kitchen affords views out to the golf course and oversized back deck, while separate dining and living areas offer several places to gather. The kitchen has ample storage and prep space with a large peninsula and breakfast bar, two undercounter refrigerator/freezers and a full size fridge with icemaker just steps away in the full basement. There is a Nespresso pod machine and milk frother for homemade lattes and cappucinos and the pantry is stocked with basic condiments and most typical kitchen cooking necessities including pots, pans, crock pot, air fryer, mini food processer/blender and more.
In the living room is a Samsung Smart TV and sound bar ready for you to log in to your personal streaming accounts.
A charming powder room adds convenience to the first floor.
Just out the back door is a deck furnished with comfortable lounge chairs, sofa, and dining table with open views onto the golf course (complete with wildlife!).
Upstairs are three cozy bedrooms tucked under the eaves of the half hip roof, furnished with memory foam mattresses, crisp bedding and a mix of modern and antique furnishings. The sparkling new bathroom has a comfortable soaking tub and marble topped vanity.
There is a full size washer and dryer in the basement (please use only the products provided to avoid chemical sensitivities),
There are new heat and central AC systems (two zones; upstairs and down). While this is not a full time home, a few of our personal belongings are kept in the house, but there are plenty of empty drawers and other storage for guests.
Cleaning fee is for one mid & one post stay cleaning, or for one deep cleaning post stay.

About the host
Your host
While I live in Los Angeles full time now, as a Beacon native, I wanted to spend more time in my beloved Hudson Valley as I get closer to retirement from my interior design business. It has been great to reconnect with family and friends on a more frequent basis.
Why they chose this property
I grew up right around the corner from this house, across from the golf course this house backs up to, so it’s literally my old stomping grounds. I love being oriented towards the river, the views out back, and the nostalgia of hearing train whistles at night, one of the sounds of my childhood. The location so close to Main street with all its shops and restaurants, and a short walk to the train make it ideal for my family or for visitors. In addition, Manhattan is only a train ride away!
What makes this property unique
As an interior designer, I felt equipped to take this historical charmer of a house into the modern age without stripping it of the details that make it so special. I retained all the old moldings and details, including saving the original windows with their wavy glass and making them operable again (with screens and storm windows changed out seasonally) but updated the kitchen and bath and added a powder room on the first floor. I take pride in the fact that guests love and enjoy the decor and finishing touches.
