About this property
Relaxing Waterfront Retreat on Bear Pond 4 BD 2BA Pet-Friendly
Escape to our charming lake house on Bear Pond, nestled in the tranquil town of Waterford. We are a one-minute walk to Bear Mountain Inn, a 12-minute drive to Bridgton and an hour drive to Portland. Also, we are 20 minutes from Pleasant Mountain Ski Area and 35 minutes from Sunday River Ski Resort. Perfect for a family getaway or a peaceful retreat with friends, our home offers a serene setting with all the comforts you need for a memorable stay. We provide kayaks, a BBQ grill, & much more!
Our lake house features three cozy bedrooms, a finished basement that can be converted to a bedroom and two full bathrooms. The top floor offers two bedrooms with queen beds, while the third bedroom is furnished with two twin beds, ideal for children or singles. Additional sleeping space includes a pull-out couch in the living room on the main floor, accommodating up to 10 guests comfortably.
The main floor boasts a fully-equipped kitchen including a full-sized refrigerator, stove, microwave, and dishwasher. Adjacent to the kitchen is an entryway with a three-person eat-in table and stools. The living room and dining area are combined, featuring a couch that pulls out into a full-sized bed for extra sleeping arrangements. The dining table has seating for six. A full bathroom completes the main floor.
Step outside onto the covered porch off the living room, perfect for enjoying morning coffee or enjoying the view - even in the rain!
Downstairs, the finished walk-out basement offers another full bathroom, a laundry room with brand-new LG washer and dryer, and a second living room space with a sectional that converts to a full-sized bed offering an additional bedroom space.
Outdoor amenities abound with a private dock equipped with two kayaks for your enjoyment on the lake. Relax on the spacious deck, fire up the propane grill for a barbecue, or gather around the fire pit for evening conversations. The expansive lawn provides ample room for outdoor activities, complemented by plenty of outdoor furniture including seating for lounging and a picnic table.
Additional comforts include WiFi throughout the house, a washer and dryer for your convenience, and entertainment options such as a TV with streaming services, a selection of books, and board games.
.
**Outdoor Activities:**
Bear Pond is renowned for its excellent fishing. Cast your line off the end of the dock, take out one of our two kayaks, or bring your own boat to explore the waters. Please note, the water is about 3 feet deep at the end of the dock. For swimming, we recommend using the provided floats to paddle out to deeper waters or visit one of the nearby the sandy-bottomed swimming areas. The first is just a quarter-mile down the street. Alternatively, you can drive to Keoka Lake, Crystal Lake Beach or Long Lake Beach, all within three miles.
The area also offers great hiking opportunities to be enjoyed by beginners and experienced hikers alike.
**Local Attractions:**
Our lake house is conveniently located near a variety of local attractions. Just 20 minutes away, you’ll find the Pleasant Mountain Ski Area, perfect for winter sports enthusiasts. Sunday River Ski Resort is 35 minutes away. In Bridgton, explore charming shops, local restaurants, and scenic hiking trails. The surrounding towns also boast a drive-in movie theatre and a vibrant nightlife, including trivia nights, live music, and billiards. Don’t miss the monthly event, Music on Main, where live music, food trucks, and fun, fill Main Street in Bridgton.
Whether you're seeking a peaceful retreat or a fun-filled lakeside adventure, our lake house offers everything you need for a memorable stay with family and friends.
Guests will receive a specific door code for easy check-in.
Other things to note
There is a set of 13 concrete steps from where you park down to the front door. Also, at night this stairway is lit by a motion-sensored flood light. There may be some visibity challenges for some guests, but a flashlight solves the problem.
There is also a spiral staircase from the main floor to the finished basement where the laundry is located. Please note these could be accessibility challenges for some as it is narrow.
