Uncomfortable stay in a sketchy neighborhood

The stay was in a terrible neighborhood with a run down apartment on top of another apartment that was up all night partying. The place is falling apart, ac unit was not working in the master. The bed was falling apart. Damage to every wall in the unit. The owner called once to let us know that we couldn’t check in early, but in fact - would be late because the locksmith was there to let in the cleaners in after 2pm. he was difficult to communicate with otherwise. After a terrorist attack on the city that caused a delayed foot ball game (our reason for coming to town), he was slow to discuss another night stay. A day later he came up with the solution. But after we stayed one night in the worst night in a VRBO, we decided not to stay another night. Not only would I not Stay there again, I would highly encourage anyone I know to: choose anywhere else!
