Incredible views

Excellent property right on the beach with ocean and mountain views that can't be beat. Includes everything you need for a perfect stay including covered parking.

Nice and not so nice

The interior is very nice and clean. The building is being remodeled and is not nice. The AC for the bedroom vents into the main room and is noisy. You have to then run the unit in the main room to get the heat out of the condo. if you don't use the AC the street noise is pretty loud in the bedroom. The request for the renter on cleaning the unit when leaving, even when they are charging a large cleaning fee was unacceptable. We have never seen anything like this before and hope to never see it again.

Lovely location

We enjoyed our stay at this beautiful property. It was close to spectacular scenery and several activities. We did not have the pleasure of seeing sea turtles on the beach but enjoyed the sunrises/sunsets and the nearby mountains. Make sure to visit the nearby Shrimp Truck from Food Network as well as the Huli Huli Chicken down the road. And who doesn’t love the Macadamia Nut Outlet! Yum!! I would advise that the owner invest in a new mattress. Other than that, Aloha!

Good location on east coast

Good location for exploring the east coast. Very nice apartment - renovated well with good Wi-Fi and washing machine/dryer. Lots of equipment provided to use on the beach. Lovely view from the lanai and a good private beach. Beautiful sunrises. Great food trucks across the road and a decent supermarket. Not many restaurants around. There is construction in the complex, but this did not affect the apartment during our visit. However, this is an ongoing project for many months to come, so it would benefit you to check with the owner what the latest plans are.

Great place to slow down!

We really loved everything about the unit, laundry, kitchen, lanai, that view!!! We saw whales from the balcony and turtles immediately while snorkeling at the beach on property. The only downside was the construction which we were warned about. Honestly it was just more motivation to get out and see the sites!

Amazing Vacation stay

We had incredible stay. The place was cleanand had rhe most amazing view. Walking on the beach we came across a turtle up on shore. Extremely easy to find. Will definitely look at booking this location again!

A trip to 2 sides of the island

This was our first trip to Hawaii, we stayed in Waikiki beach for a start of the trip which was at a resort. Coming to this side of the island really was a breath of fresh air. The views from the condo are amazing. We saw turtles swimming and coming onto the beach everyday right from the lanai. Sunrises are beautiful and snorkeling was amazing right off shore. Loves out stay, we will be back. The condo is well stocked with all the standard needs to cook, clean, etc…. The beach chairs, snorkeling gear, and cooler were nice to have as well.

Hawaiian retreat

The unit was spotless on arrival. Owner was prompt to respond to questions about the cable internet connection. The location was perfect fo exploring the north shore and the immediate environs were remarkable. A beautiful sandy beach is located just behind the condo with waters sheltered by a substantial reef about 2-300 yards offshore. Every night large sea turtles hauled up on the beach to rest. Nearby, Monk seals beached during the day to rest of there exhausting fishing forays. During our stay in February, we spotted whales just offshore breaching and spouting. The northshore big waves were breaking and we happened on the big wave surfing competition - amazing feats of experts cutting on 40 foot waves. Lots of good restaurants locally and even more a few minutes north in Laie. Hauula BBQ and both local shrimp trucks are worth a try. A great supermarket (Foodland) is located in Laie for stocking up. It was a fabulous location, and we will be back.

Great condo

The location and price of this condo was awesome. It has everything that is needed to stay. The ability to cook saved us a lot of time to go and do other activities. I would highly recommend this condo. The view alone is worth it.

Wonderful stay in Paradise

My wife and I loved our stay in Punalu’u. This condo is warm and inviting. With a recent remodel, the kitchen and living space felt very updated and made for a great place to cook and relax after a day in the sun. There is construction still going on at the complex. The balcony still wasn’t quite finished, but we were still able to use it. It appears most of the construction has move on down the building and for this unit specifically was not much of an issue. Punalu’u has a wonderful location with lush jungles and pristine beaches that are nearly empty. The location is quiet and off the beaten path, which is perfect if you don’t want the hustle bustle of high density resorts. The one draw back is, in the evenings, the area is kind of a food desert with little to no food options after 7pm. If you prefer to hit the grocery store and cook then this arrangement is prefect for you. We ate out every evening and realized it would require a little planning and foresight to make sure we made it before things closed. We loved the quiet environment that reflected the true Hawaiian experience and enjoyed all of the sea turtles that swim just off the private beach

Fabulous as Always!

Great location oceanfront view. Best shrimp food truck (Aloha) on the island less than 5 min walk. 3 other trucks too Thai, Viet, Coconut joes and burger place w basic grocery store. Newly renovated older condo. Outdoor pool. Kitchen has lots of cooking necessities, starting toiletries even included razor. Communication is wonderful all round! So surprised when we reported a broken appliance it was replaced within the hour! This wasnt my 1st stay here & won't be my last. Thank you for great experience that keep us returning! Highly recommended

Nice area of the Island & Nice little condo for a couple's getaway.

The condo has been remodeled and the kitchen has all the equipment needed to make a nice meal from blenders to toasters, baking sheets and decent pots with lids. The view from the unit is wonderful and depending on the weather, you can open the sliding door and front door and get a strong breeze. Condo is equipped with 2 portable a/c units. One in the living room and one in the bedroom. Keeping the bedroom door shut at night while it is running will keep the room cool and shut out exterior noises. Yes they are doing work on the building but they don't start till after 9 or even 10 am, but not a big deal for us as we were taking day trips on the island. They also wrapped up for the day before 5pm.Wish the pool had been open in the evening but that was not a big deal. Depending on what your "adventure" looks like, you are on the best side of the island. Food trucks are great, so don't hesitate to get take out from one. To the south there is a restaurant inside a tourist store, you will see them grilling chickens out front. They have really good food and decent prices. Expect your meals to run about $16 each. Becuase of strong winds and red flag alerts, we did not spend much time in the water but the condo comes with boogie boards and beach chairs which is a very nice amenity to have.

Your Own Private Hawaii

If you love the hustle of Honolulu and love to be with the people of the world on Waikiki, if you need to have a PF Chang’s within walking distance and can’t live without being able to book tours right from the beach, this place is not at all for you. If your idea of a great vacation is being out in the “country” and living next door to turtles, this place is definitely for you. It’s got everything you’ll need except the stuff that isn’t what Hawaii is really about. There’s construction and the building is transforming but the apartment is gorgeous, clean, and quiet….except for the occasional construction noise.

5-stars for the beach & views!

You have magnificent views of the ocean & sunrises from the back of the unit and you have mountain views when you walk out the front of the unit. The beach is like a private beach for the complex you're staying in! Eating out nearby can be difficult as you're staying 'in the country' and what places are nearby have limited hours. The Polynesian Cultural Center is very close and has food trucks you can enjoy without having a ticket to PCC. Kaya's store is across the street and has food too. Few to no nice restaurants nearby for a memorable meal. Our host was extremely responsive when we arrived and found the balcony was closed due to the construction going on at the complex. We got lucky that the construction workers weren't working on our unit / balcony while we were there, but we can imagine how that would disrupt one's stay significantly. Overall, we loved the views and beach access. The unit had nice beach chairs, towels, gear, etc. We'd recommend and return back!

Gorgeous views of the ocean with incredible snorkeling on the property's beach. The apartment was stocked with everything you need and was clean and modern. This property is minutes from the Polynesian Cultural Center, Waimea, Sunset, and the Rainbow House. In the other direction, we enjoyed Chinaman's Hat and Lanikai. The security that watched over the property was a nice addition, we had our own parking spot, and we saw turtles in the moonlight from our beach. Would stay here time and time again! The housekeeper did a great job; the place was clean, clean, clean! Thank you for the memories, Mahalo!

PH11 clean and comfortable. Well stocked with everything you need inside. Also well stocked with things you need outside, chairs, umbrella, beach supplies. Fridge makes ice for your cooler. Nicely kept ocean side lawn and easy beach access. sunrises! Food and groceries close by (with car).

Amazing!

This is our second time staying in the condo and it was once again an awesome experience. The condo is clean, relaxing, and peaceful. The location is perfect, with a grassy area for lounging in the available recliners and the beach just steps away. The beach is beautiful, clean, and rarely has more than a handful of people. The condo is close to a multitude of other beaches, snorkeling, stores, hikes, and areas of interest. The condo was very nice! Check in and out process was super easy. We had no issues while staying here. There was construction going on during the day on our balcony and the room next to us. We were told about this before hand and appreciated the notice. The construction did not affect our stay since we were gone during the day. Would definitely stay here again!

We enjoyed our stay at the property. The home was very clean and inviting, and it's so nice to have a dedicated parking space. The beach was never crowded, and it was nice to take sunset walks there. We will definitely stay here again!

Great beach proximity

Loved this little getaway! We were warned that there was construction happening and we're unable to use the balcony, thus the rate. Anything that was an inconvenience we were forwarned and thus not part of my review. I would return here because going down to the beach was so convenient. The beach is lovely and clean and not overly crowded. Turtles were on the beach at first light, if you did not scare them and it was my favorite thing about Hawaii. The proximity to activities with our car was perfect. The condo was well stocked with incidentals and items for the beach, and the view from the 8 th floor is amazing. We stayed 4 days and then went to Waikiki and all I wanted to do was go back to that condo and beach and area because it was everything I dreamed Hawaii would be.

Wonderful Rental

We enjoyed our stay at this oceanfront property. Highly recommended! It was wonderful to watch the sunrise from the patio. We could see the beautiful ocean from the rental unit. I swam with a turtle at the beach right in front of the building. The unit has been renovated. It's nicely decorated with modern amenities. The kitchen is well stocked with everything we needed for cooking which is a plus given my dietary restrictions. We were able to cook meals using the fresh produce found on the island. The in-unit washer and dryer made washing laundry very easy. There are noticeable construction noises. The building is undergoing some construction work. It did not bother us much because we timed our outings to match the construction work schedule. They only work from 9:30ish am to 5:30ish pm.
