This cabin was exactly what we were looking for. We had a blast (including the dogs). Would definitely recommend and stay again! It was a beautiful cabin.
We were looking for peaceful place to relax and escape the heat and appreciate nature, this fit the bill. Spent most of the time on the back patio soaking in the trees, birds, squirrels and ELK!!! The house is cozy and well-appointed. It is an older place in the woods, so you have to expect a few cobwebs and bugs - doesn't reflect on the overall cleanliness of place at all. Would recommend for anyone who wants to just kick back and reenergize among the pines!
Great stay! The cabin is cozy, comfortable and very pet friendly. We had a great weekend stay. Gate out to the forest, quiet neighborhood and very relaxing.
We absolutely love staying at this cabin. The property is totally fenced for the dog. The back of the property has all the hiking trails right there. The cabin had all the amentities one will need. I love the seclusion and peace this cabin brings. I will continue to rent this cabin, but everyone has various needs. It is not brand new and there is no dishwasher. I don't care about these things but some may do.
The cabin backs up to the national forest so no neighbors behind you. It was a fantastic location and made for really easy access to the forest hiking trails. This was the most appealing aspect of this rental. Other pros - bed linens were nice and bed was comfortable. Loved the fenced yard so our dog could run around, which he loved. Only con was the kitchen - was very small and not much counter space to prepare meals. Made cooking a bit of a challenge. But overall recommend the house and greatly enjoyed our stay.
Yes on weekends there are atvs running up the Hardscrabble Road but otherwise super quiet. Doe elk and yearlings early morning and evening. Very nice spot. Workable kitchen. If you don't like the house go out on the porch. Beautiful.
We truly enjoyed our stay. the wildlife didn't disappoint. we saw 2 cow elk on the road in the neighborhood to the house. the bats were amazing, as well as the stars. the house could have had a good cleaning before we got there. it had cobwebs and dead moths over the bathroom doorway, but overall, we enjoyed ourselves.
We stayed 3 nites over the 4th holiday, and were thankful for no fireworks .
The only other noise distraction were the razors driving by behind the house.
That was what we were looking for,
A quiet holiday.
Neighbors are on both sides of the house but we’re no bother.
We did see 3 deer!
A little too cobwebby for me. Unable to open the windows. Serious cob webs, but we were in the woods.
Overall, great stay.
My family and I stayed at Lisa’s for the weekend and had such an amazing time! Beautiful home and yard. We’d love to come back and stay at her place. Thank you!!
This was our second time staying at this cabin. It is cute and clean with games, puzzles, and coloring books that kept our older daughter entertained. The big fenced in yard was great to keep the girls (5 and 1) busy exploring, with numerous places for the adults to sit and relax and watch. The property backs right up to the forest where there is great hiking trails with gorgeous views.
We enjoy this property. So secluded and peaceful. The fencing around the property is huge plus for the safety of our dog. 2 Covered patios are awesome to hang out on when snowing, and the views are breathtaking. Thank you for having us again.
We had an amazing time. Our lab was so happy to play in the fenced yard. The kids loved the hammocks and my husband enjoyed the walking trails. Lisa was an excellent host and we will be staying here again.
We had a great time. The weather was perfect for sitting out on the decks. The dogs loved the property, because it was fenced in. All & all a great stay.
It’s not a cabin it’s a single wide trailer. The kitchen is dirty the dishes are dirty the windowsills are full of bugs and con webs. The exhaust fan is broken emailed owner heard nothing. The couches are lumpy and extremely uncomfortable. The road behind trailer is noisy with 4 wheeler night and day. The bathroom has spider and bugs in both bathtub and counter.

Liked: Check-in, communication, location
Disliked: Cleanliness
Upkeep seriously lacking
The outside looks like it would have been amazing....if it was kept up. The hammocks have mold growing on them, the patio seating is covered in spiders and their webs. Everything outside was very overgrown. I could forgive the outside issue about how many bugs there was since yes I understand it is outside in the woods, however the bugs were not just outside. The inside had OLD webs that had collected dust because it hadn't been properly cleaned. The was also new webs and spiders coming out from under the couch, inside the covers for the beds, beetles all over the windows and ceiling in the hallway. The comforters to the beds have not been clean, the twins comforter is noticabl
This is our second stay here at Lisa's place and we love it! We are scheduled again in the winter. The views, the peacefulness, the beautiful patios, the feel of being right in the woods, and the safety for our dog of a fenced property is HUGE! Thank you Lisa, we really appreciate your sharing your home with us!
My wife and I stayed here for three nights on short notice and had a great time. The location is perfect - and quiet :) The cabin backs up to the national forest, which was awesome for watching the elk feed in the morning. The entire yard is fenced, which was great for our two dogs. They had a blast and loved exploring the property. The cabin was cozy and well stocked. Everything that needed to be clean was clean. All the details have been thought of... light switches are labeled (very helpful!), little popup lanterns (great for taking the pups out at night before bed), and more. All instructions and check-in/check-out processes was very clear. Also, we communicated with Lisa (owner) before booking to make sure it was OK to bring both of our dogs, and she was very responsive. We'd definitely stay again!
We enjoyed our stay at The Cabin in the Woods! Check in was super easy. The directions to the house were easy to follow. We enjoyed that all the features were easily accessible and instructions for each were clearly labeled. Knowing which light switch goes where was so nice! The kitchen had ample supplies, spices, and cookware. Our host was easy to contact and was polite and professional. We highly recommend this Vrbo home and host/owner!
Beautiful! Love the spacious yard! Loved all the tables to sit and have coffee! Everything was easy to use! Loved the spices and oils and coffee and kitchen appliances in the cupboards. Plenty of extra blankets to stay warm and the fire pit outside was perfect! There were sticks to roast marshmallows, too! Would definitely go back again!
Just me, my partner, and our dog. We loved Lisa's place. It was perfect for us because we like to enjoy the outdoor patio spaces even when cold. Here, we had to patio views to choose from. There was plenty of property for me to walk my dog on safely and the views are spectacular from all windows that surround the cabin. Really appreciated the supply of firewood! We enjoyed having a fire going the entire time we were there. My dog loved being here and seeing out to the woods even from inside the cabin. He is depressed not that we are back home in the city :) Thank you Lisa for sharing your home. We will be back!!!

Why they chose this property
We loved to escape to Pine from the Phoenix summer heat often. We fell in love with this little town, not only during the hot summer days, also during the magical snowy days of winter! Actually this place is amazing all year round... :)
What makes this property unique
The Cabin is located at a great unique location and its backing to the natural forest. All the property is fenced and make it very safe for kids and pets!
The hiking trails are just out side our back yard gate :) As the forest its our back yard, It is very secluded, quite and still not far from the road to the restaurants and shopping areas. This Is the best place to relax and enjoy the nature!
