About this property

Cozy mountain cabin with hiking trails, tranquil pond and private waterfall!

A peaceful mountain retreat, nestled into a private cove adjacent to the Nantahala National Forest, The Cabin is a perfect getaway for small families. Situated on 166 acres of mountain beauty, The Cabin is one of only two homes available in this mountain paradise. With over 3 miles of walking and hiking trails, including a secluded waterfall trail, The Cove at Burningtown Falls is perfect for nature lovers!

The Cabin is a beautiful hand-hewn log and timber home that is perfect for a single family or two small families to enjoy the unsurpassed beauty and serenity of Western North Carolina. Two porches provide perfect spaces to take in the mountain air. The front porch boasts rocking chairs, a porch swing, and a view of the 2-acre pond that sits 100 yards away. On the back porch, you'll find a gas grill and outdoor seating for private, al fresco dining with the peaceful sounds of the babbling brook that passes just a few feet away from The Cabin. A short walk up the hill behind The Cabin leads to a fire pit and four comfy glider-swivel rockers.

Inside is a fully equipped kitchen that opens to the dining and living areas. A gas fireplace sets the mood in colder months, and the Smart television and excellent wifi keep you as connected as you want to be year-round.

The Cabin comfortably sleeps 6 guests in three sleeping spaces and 4 beds. The main-floor master bedroom (queen bed) has an en suite bathroom with a walk-in shower. Upstairs, the second bedroom (queen bed) shares a bathroom with the adjacent sleeping loft (2 twin beds). An additional half-bath is located on the main floor.

For larger groups, book The Lodge as well and at a discounted rate. Located 130 yards away from The Cabin, The Lodge sleeps an additional 13 people.

Important Notice: This property includes a 2-acre pond. As with all bodies of water, there are inherent risks associated with activities in or near this pond. Only guests who can safely engage in water-related activities are allowed to be in or near this body of water. All guests assume the liability for their use of the pond in any manner.

Similarly, the mountains of Western North Carolina are home to many dangerous animals. All guests are advised to watch their step when outside and use caution at all times. Further, guests are responsible for their own safety around all wildlife encountered at this property.

A Hidden Gem: The Perfect Escape with Stunning Scenery and Warm Hospitality

Picture driving up a winding dirt road, only to round a corner and be greeted by a massive waterfall cascading along your path. From that very moment, we knew this property was something truly special. It far exceeded our expectations in every way.We stayed at the cabin, one of two homes on this sprawling 166-acre property. The cabin was perfectly maintained and thoughtfully stocked with everything we needed for cooking full meals or enjoying a relaxing night grilling and unwinding. The cleanliness of the home was impeccable, and all the essentials were provided to get us started. While we stayed for over a week and had to replenish a few items, that’s to be expected and was no trouble at all.During our visit, we experienced a winter storm, which transformed the property into a picturesque snow-covered paradise. We made the most of it with a wonderful snow day and some unforgettable sledding on the rolling hills right there on the property. One thing to note is that there’s no cell coverage outside the Wi-Fi range, but the Wi-Fi itself extends impressively far from both the cabin and the main house. We have AT&T, so we can’t speak for other carriers, but this wasn’t a drawback for us—it actually added to the peacefulness of our stay.We cannot recommend this property highly enough. The hosts were absolutely perfect—attentive, kind, and proactive in ensuring our trip went smoothly. When we needed to make last-minute adjustments to extend our stay, they handled everything
