About this property

Steps from Four O Clock Run, Spacious and Charming Ski-In/Ski-Out Retreat

"Our Mountain Honey" is situated 100 steps from a trailhead of the Four O'Clock ski run. Use the run to ski home at the end of the day, and to ski down to the Snowflake Lift to get to the base of Peak 8.

This classic Breckenridge vacation home features a sprawling, 4800 square foot layout, unique architectural details, and comfortable accommodations for 14. Après in the private outdoor Jacuzzi while enjoying the beautiful mountain views. Three fireplaces, multiple living areas, and two levels of outdoor deck provide plenty of room for the whole group to gather together, and also offer ample spaces to find some privacy. There is plenty of entertainment for everyone after a day of exertion outdoors. All six televisions are equipped with cable tv with thousands of free on demand movies and Roku boxes, and the third floor game room features a billiards table and a closet full of board games. This mountain retreat features five bedrooms, and additional sleeping for six in two of the living areas. A thoughtfully appointed kitchen and outdoor propane grill help make cooking those large meals easy and enjoyable. Radiant-heated floors, heated two-car garage, heated driveway, and snow shoveling service take all the work out of coming home from a day on the mountain or waking up after a night of fresh powder. The master suite features its own jetted garden tub and private living suite with gas fireplace and soaring window overlooking the trees. It is our little corner of paradise, and we hope you will consider "Our Mountain Honey" for your next Breckenridge ski vacation or summer getaway.

Master suite: King sized bed, cable TV and Roku box, private balcony, en suite bathroom with Jacuzzi bath and separate shower, walk-in closet. On main level, also known as the second floor. Sleeps: 2

Third floor bedroom: Smaller bedroom with king sized bed, cable TV with Roku box, DVD player, and bathroom across the hall. On third floor. Sleeps: 2

Game room: Excellent for young folks. This room features a pool table and large cable television and Roku box. There are two single beds, a trundle bed, and a fold-down futon. Comfortable adult sleeping recommendation: 2.

Queen-sized bedroom: 1st floor, features queen-sized bed and bathroom in hallway. Sleeps: 2

Bunk bedroom: 1st floor, features twin over full-sized bunk bed. Doorway leading onto lower deck. Shares bathroom in hallway with trundle bedroom. Sleeps: 2

Bunk bedroom: 1st floor, features a twin bed over full-sized bunk bed. Doorway leading to lower deck. Shares bathroom in hallway with twin bedroom. Sleeps: 2

Main Living Room: features full-sized sleeper sofa that sleeps two. If you have to sleep on a sleeper sofa, at least do so in front of the wood burning fireplace and biggest tv in the house. Sleeps 2

Living areas:

Main living room: features a wood burning fireplace, access to the upper deck, large sectional sofa with king-sized American Leather comfort sleeper (the Cadillac of sleeper sofas), rocking chair, and large cable television with Roku box. Adjacent to the kitchen on second floor.

Third floor game room: large room overlooking the dining room. It features a pool table, a large cable television with Roku Box, and a private balcony overlooking Four O'Clock Road. (mentioned above in the sleeping arrangement details)

First floor living area: features a dining table for six, sofa, loveseat, and armchair. Cable tv with Roku box. Lower deck access, with the Jacuzzi right outside the sliding glass door.

Third floor sitting area: Features two armchairs, a fireplace, and a cable television with Roku box. There is a large window with gorgeous views. It is a quiet room with stairs that descend into the master suite, as well as a hallway for access from the third floor. Technically it is part of the master suite, but we find it a great place for any guest to curl up with a book or tv show nobody is interested in watching with you, or just to escape the din of happy children for a while.

Dining:
10 folks can sit around the main dining table. In the same kitchen/dining space is counter seating for six, and a two-person breakfast table. There is also a six person dining table on the first level.

Decks:
Both decks have spectacular mountain and forest views. In the summer, Sawmill Creek can be heard rushing pleasantly below. The upper deck can be accessed from the main living room, the lower deck can be accessed from the 1st floor living room, trundle bedroom, and twin bedroom. Both decks feature porch swings. The upper deck has a dining table, rocking chairs and adirondack chairs, and the Weber grill. The lower deck features a Jacuzzi and is a great place to spend some outdoor time out of the blazing summer sun, because it is mostly shaded by the upper deck.

Fantastic mountain get away!
We had 13 people stay for an amazing week in the mountains. 2 king suites, 2 bunk rooms, game room, queen room - plenty of hang out space so no one felt on top of one another. Hot tub was great! Kitchen well stocked, easy ski in - ski out! Highly recommend! Babs was incredibly responsive to any questions / concerns!

Great for large group / multiple families
Highly recommend. We had 3 families stay with kids ranging from 10 to teenagers and fit easily. Lots of areas for different sub-groups to hang out and play games. Pool table was popular. Two minute walk up to the road to the 4 O'clock run and then an easy ski down to the Snowflake lift. Only downside for skiing is Snowflake can be crowded early and lift is fairly slow to get onto upper mountain. Because of this we didn't come back to house for lunches as originally planned. At end of day returning to house most people just skied on the road (had lots of snow this week) directly to the house. Garage is heated with benches which is super nice for getting ski gear on / off. Hot tub is big and appreciated the cover being weighted to be easily opened and closed even by kids. One note - there is only one refrigerator and we used a closet as a pantry for food. We fit one car in garage on one side and 3 trucks along the heated driveway.

Great family ski trip
We had a wonderful family ski trip here for 5 days with a group of 12. There was plenty of space. The house has a very unique layout with lots of nooks. There are two 'bridges' upstairs, a big game room, a near-separate apartment downstairs with 3 bedrooms / 2 baths / separate living room with fireplace, and huge decks on the front and back. It is an amazing place for kids. You can go upstairs to the game room, across a bridge to the upstairs bedroom, through the bedroom, down a hallway to a lofted reading nook, into a study with a fireplace, and downstairs directly into the master bedroom back on the first floor. Our kids did laps and hide-and-seek. We loved it. If you prefer not to encourage kids to come through, you can close it all off with doors. Kitchen / counters / cabinets felt a touch small for the size of the house and group. The view out the back of the house was beautiful. You can see the Snowflake lift through the trees. Hot tub was great. The walk to skiing was just fine. You go out the driveway onto 4 O-Clock Road, and walk down like 50 meters to 4 O'Clock run. There's also a shortcut path by the condos directly across the street. You ski down to the Snowflake lift. You do have to take your ski's off to cross the street again to the lift.Host was great and very quick on communication. We had a wonderful trip. Thanks!

Beautiful property
We enjoyed our trip immensely. The house was easy to find and the check in and out directions were clear. The location was great! Just a short walk across and down the street to the mountain. The kitchen is adequate, but certainly not big enough for everyone to be in at one time. We enjoyed all of the time we spent there.

Bab’s was super communicative and flexible about the booking and was quick to respond for any questions I had. I would highly consider this property if you are looking for a getaway. Wonderful home and great communication
We rented this house for a family ski trip and it was amazing. Part of our group had to cancel due to Covid and the property manager Babs was amazing with giving us a lot of options including cancelling and giving us a full refund if we needed to. The house is very nice, great amenities and the skiing was amazing. I would recommend this property to anyone!!!

We had an amazing time. We love this home and Babs was so responsive. Due to Covid the slopes were not open on the entire mountain so we could not see the true ski in ski out potential. However the location is amazing and we enjoyed every minute.

Great property, Great location, Great Host
We had 3 families with kids 13-18, 10 of us total. Ton's of room and could have comfortably had additional guests. Lots or room, nook, interesting spaces to spread out. House has lots of character and pride of the long term owners. Great proximity to downtown. We walked several times, 15 minutes but great time for fresh air. About a 3-4 minute 300-400 foot walk up and across the street to hop on to the trail to ski down 4 o'clock to the Snowflake lift to start the day. Could ski to our driveway at the end of the day on the street after hopping off 4 o'clock. overall a great way to experience Breckenridge!!

Beautiful Mountain Home
Our family loved everything about this mountain home perched above Breckenridge. The location was perfect, surrounded by aspens and pines–we slept to the sounds of the rushing stream below every night. A short ten-minute walk to town and 15 up the hill. An easy 2-minute drive if you don't want the exercise. The house is fantastic–architecturally interesting (built in the '70s) with endless beds, bedrooms, and reading nooks. Furnished beautifully. We loved playing pool at night and hanging on the back deck. Very nice hot tub! Lots of books and games. We'd love to return during ski season!

Perfect place for a large family!!
Our Mountain Honey was an incredible home! Nestled in the woods with a beautiful view of all the trees along with the sound of the stream that runs behind it. It was a perfect place to sit with a glass of wine and relax! The home was clean and comfortable, and also had plenty of room for the entire family to spread out. No one felt like they were on top of each other. It's an excellent location and very close to downtown Breckenridge, as well as some hiking trails that start just up the road. Another bonus was the pantry was stalked with more than the basics for cooking. That was a definite plus for our family since we love to cook. I can't say enough wonderful things about this home and its location!

About the host

Host profile image
Babs and Pearce Wood are excited to share their mountain home with guests. Pearce grew up skiing with his family at their former home in Snowmass, and it has always been a dream to be able to share that same experience with his children. When shopping for a home, we chose Breckenridge because of its world-class skiing and summer activity opportunities, and its proximity to the Denver airport. Until the kids graduate from high school our time to visit "Our Mountain Honey" is limited, and for us it is a 7 hour journey door-to-door from our primary home in New Orleans. When not enjoying all that Colorado has to offer, we spend the majority of our free time sailing, attending festivals, and playing in rag-tag bands with our fellow amateur musician friends. Pearce works in the maritime industry, and Babs is a photographer.

Why they chose this property

We fell in love with "Our Mountain Honey" when home shopping during our Mardi Gras ski trip. (Known as winter break for the rest of ya'll). It reminded Pearce exactly of his family's former house in Snowmass. Multi-level and sprawling, with plenty of nooks to find some peace and quiet. Our first vacation here with the kids included three generations of the family and five children, and it was such a blast. The kids stayed off their smartphones and found tons of ways to entertain themselves, even when the weather was too poor to play outside. They played together and bonded as cousins. It really was a dream trip and an experience we think so many families will enjoy.

What makes this property unique

All of our dream features are included with the property- ski-in/ski out, outdoor jacuzzi, breathtaking mountain views and outdoor decks to enjoy them, a two car garage, and plenty of room for everyone to have a bed. We can jump in the car and be on Main Street in five minutes, but more often than not we enjoy spending our down-time here at the house.
