Perfect rental for my family!
We needed a short-term rental for my family of four. The homeowner was quick to respond to questions, very easy to work, and help make us feel at home. The house is filled with everything we needed to walk in the door and unpack. There is a convenient parking spot in the back and street parking is easy to find. The Kingman Park location can't be beat and is a great home base for exploring and living in Washington.

Great house, 10-15 mins from the subway, 10 mins walking to supermarkets.
We loved the house. In the first floor, you will find a living room (with a very practical sofa bed!), a dining table that fits around 6 people, and a kitchen that it looks just like the pictures. On the second floor, it has 3 bedrooms, two of them with full or queen sized bed and one of them with a one person bed. There are cabinets, and plenty of space to hang your clothes. There is only one bathroom but it has great light and the shower has plenty of space. There also a washer and a dryer on the first floor, a great dishwasher, a big fridge, etc. In general, we had everything we needed. At first, not being from the area, we did not know much about the neighborhood. After being there I think it is a pretty good place. Neighbors are very nice in general (For example, they would say hi on the street even late at night). There are some places nearby that look a little bit more shady or unkept, but the street where the house is and the way to the subway feels safe. In general, we would stay again in this place for sure. It was a great experience and Aerica did everything to make our stay great.

Wonderful home!
We stayed in the property for the summer while I relocated for a job. The house was exactly as represented, and close to amenities, such as the free streetcar, metro, grocery stores, rec center etc. It was great to be so close to The National Mall, we often walked into capital hill. The kitchen is well stocked, the beds are very comfortable. Everything you need is here and the owners are very accommodating. Overall, we couldn't have picked a better location!

About the host

Host profile image
Originally from Kansas, I am to D.C. to follow my political dreams in 1999. I purchased this house in the early 2000s while working on Capitol Hill. I lived in the house until 2009 when my husband and I moved just a few blocks away. Living close to the property makes maintaining the unit relatively easy, and I like to address little problems before they become larger issues.

Why they chose this property

The house comes equipped with a fully stocked kitchen and extra linens. Just bring a suitcase full of your clothes and you are all set. There is ensuite laundry machines so you are never inconvenienced.

The rear parking area and the front porch give you extra space to stretch out while you entertain your guests or sip your morning coffee.

What makes this property unique

There are several grocery stores (Safeway and Aldi) less than a 1/2 mile from the house. A little further down H Street is a Giant grocery store and Whole Foods. H Street also has a plethora of bars and restaurants for you to enjoy. Costco is about a 10-minute drive from the house, as are several other national stores: Lowes, Dick’s Sporting Goods and Marshalls.

There are numerous transportation options near the house. To the north on Benning Road there are several bus lines that run toward downtown, in addition to the new Street Car line. The Street Car is free and will take you to Union Station. To the south of the house there is a BikeShare station, additional bus lines and the Stadium/Armory Metro station. The north entrance to the Metro is at E. Capitol and 19th Streets SE and is about 0.6 mile from the house. It take around 10-15 minutes to walk.
