Magical stay in Yelapa

We had an amazing time in Yelapa. The views of the bay from the bedrooms and communal kitchen and dining area were stunning. Everyone in the party loved the small infinity pool, especially during sunset. We highly recommend chartering the boat for snorkeling day trips up the coast. We had several outings to remote beaches and great snorkeling areas where were saw schools of tuna hunting sardines. We highly recommend hiring the family to cook meals for you. We had three dinners prepared for us onsite and it was delicious. The family caretaking the home in Yelapa were friendly and attentive to all of our needs. We plan to come back in the future!!!

Beautiful spot

Cada Flourish was perfect for our ladies vacation. Jay was incredibly helpful with planning and logistics, and we were grateful for Felipe’s help on the ground. It is really a gorgeous location and casa. Definitely recommend.

Fabulous location

The property location is perfect. Gorgeous views of the bay, great kitchen and pool. The bedroom's AC works perfect. Easy access to town and the playa. Felipe and janete can help you with any questions or needs (in Spanish) and were a tremendous help getting from the dock to the house, as well as our first load of groceries from the store to the house in a wheelbarrow. There is one steep part that would of required several trips back and forth for provisioning without their help. jay and annie made certain we arrived safely. Recommend having Felipe transport you from VP to Yelapa if arriving that day by airplane and not wanting to be restricted by water taxi time tables... less stress. More money than water taxi, but worth it!

Yelapa Palapa

This property is stunning and exactly like the photos! We had a great time and enjoyed the relaxing vibes from the town and residents. Everyone that is associated with the house was very communicative and helpful during our stay. I will definitely come back but wanted to share our experiences for those wanting to come: Rainy season (June-October): Just a warning that if you come during raining season the electricity will most likely go out, OFTEN. We were not aware of that and spent a lot of the time, especially at night, with no electricity, just take that into consideration when you are booking your trip. Private boat taxi offer: This was great! While it was quite a bit more than the local taxi, being picked up and dropped off right by the airport was totally worth it in our opinion. Master bedroom/bathroom: While I loved the outdoor bathroom option for the the master bedroom, just know that it is detached from the master bedroom and up quite a bit of stairs, which makes night time bathroom trips an adventure. I'd bring a flashlight. Welcome pre-stock option: This was wonderful to have upon arrival! The homemade ceviche and guacamole were delicious- we were just sad they got ruined by the electricity going off and didn't get to finish them. I still highly recommend taking them up on this offer though, arriving to cold beers and delicious food was amazing. The owners were very sweet and understand though and bought us our meal on the last night! That was very sweet.

Beautiful!

What a beautiful house with wonderful views and friendly people! The house was very clean, well appointed and comfortable. Filipe met us at the dock in PV, we were lucky enough to get to see whales on our way to Yelapa, it’s was about an hour boat ride. Filipe was always helpful and friendly, as was Yanet. She stocked the house with some essentials upon our arrival ( for a fee) and asked her to cook dinner for us one night and she also did some housekeeping for us too.Amazing! For traveling during covid times, you have to get a negative test before returning to the states. You can either have Filipe take you back to PV (for a fee) or take a water taxi there. We just went back to PV airport where they have a tent set up for testing and results within an hour. This is not a quick process and had we waited till the day we were leaving we would have missed our flight. The price of the tests are about $35usd. We really enjoyed meeting Jay and Annie too, they are so helpful and kind. We always had great communication with them and everyone was quick to respond. Thank you for sharing your home with us!

Amazing time in Yelapa!!

Thank you Annie, for a great communication and for share your amazing property with us. This property is exactly as described, very clean, well located and spectacular views and sunsets. The beach is just like 5 minutes walking and town is like 15 minutes walking, the people in Yelapa is super friendly. Yaneth is very nice and can help you cooking (if you make arrangements in advance with her, for a very reasonable price) all her food was delicious. We were a large group of 10 women, as expected we carry a lot of stuff; the person that was waiting for us at the pier can't help all of us with the baggage so we need to carry most of it to casa Flourish (not a long walk but is a climbing gravel road ) after this experience we contract the services of 3 fourtrax at the end of our stay, they charge $100.00 pesos each one and they help us carrying our baggage to the pier. We have an amazing time all the people here are super nice, just as information restaurants close at 6:00pm if you planing to arrive late take your precautions or your some food with you. Casa flourish has beds to accommodate 10 people in 3 bedrooms with a/c and other 2 more people with out a/c. If you decide to make arrangements with Felipe (casa Flourish Capitan) I suggest to do all the arrangements directly with Annie we don't have the best of the experiences dealing with him. (maybe because we're all women I don't know but Annie and Yaneth they're amazing). This trip was one of the most enjoyable experiences if you looking for a nice place to have a great time in family or with friends this is the place. Thanks Annie

Awesome vacation

We spent 8 nights at casa flourish and loved it. It is in the perfect location. Close to the beach. (5 min walk) and close to the village. Also a 5 min walk. The house is very open and a great place for our group of 6 to relax and enjoy the great views. The are 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms with showers. It should be noted that 2 of the bedrooms are adjoining meaning you have to go through 1 to get to the other which worked great for our group as there was a parent, daughter, friend combo. The pool was a perfect place to cool off when relaxing at the casa. Try casa flourish,I think you will love it. Be aware that yelapa is built on a hillside so if you have mobility issues this may be a problem. Otherwise relax and enjoy great people and great scenery

paul h., Where do you live?

Fantastic view, great location and great property!

I begin by saying that this is one of the nicest homes we've rented anywhere in the world. The entire property has a stunning view of the ocean, bay, river valley and mountains. Everything is new and working and clean. We could not be happier with our choice. I like to write a practical review for potential renters so if I say anything that sounds negative please return to my first paragraph. We really enjoyed our time here and hope to return someday. Felipe and Yanet and Caroline made sure we had anything we needed and did a great job. Location - Perfect! Short walk to town and short walk to the beach. It should be noted that if you are staying in Yelapa you climb a lot of stairs and hills. From the main living area down to the beach it is about 4 or 5 flights of stairs. We enjoyed the exercise. Town is two flights down and 1/4 mile hilly walk. Great little mom and pop restaurants and stores. Bedrooms - beautiful furniture with very comfortable beds and clean linen. One end of the main living level has a two bedroom space with it's own bathroom and shower. The bathroom if off a hallway that goes between the two rooms. There is no door in the hallway separating the bedrooms. Both bedrooms have nice balconies with awesome views. The other end of the main living level has an awesome bedroom with a huge balcony and giant glass doors that open completely or can remain closed. Fantastic views!!!! There is also a loft bed in the main living area that we did not use, completely open air with netting. Bathrooms - Nice clean everything working with nice tile. The bathroom for the master bedroom is open air but completely private. To access you go outside and up a 1/2 flight of stairs that is not well lit at night. Pool - Deep lap pool. Clean and nice with the same great views. The time of year we visited the sun only hit the pool for about three hours a day due to the mountains. Other parts of the property had sun from about 9 till 2 or 3. Main living area and Kitchen - New appliances, nice comfortable furniture well stocked kitchen. We loved hanging out in this area and cooking or having a few beers. Beautiful lighting with Mexican light fixtures. Lots of room and seating. We were told we could not use the washer and drier. We travel light and look for properties that have washer/drier. Frankly, we used them anyway since the property was advertised as offering them. Thank you for sharing your home!

We love life and love spending it with my family and friends. I live for new experiences and sharing them with the ones I love and the new, interesting people I meet. There is a lot of good in the world when you're open to seeing it. My journey starts and ends in Yelapa.

Why they chose this property

You have 2 or 3 beautiful kids and juggle a very busy life. You run from place to place keeping your family super active. Baseball, soccer, swimming, chess club etc. You try to control how much iPad, iPhone and general "screen" time your kids intake daily.

You get your "micro-news" binge 3 times a day from Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter etc. You sometimes feels like family time has been taken over by Netflix series, emails and texts. Almost everyone you're around has one eye on their "iDevice"

You grew up outside; rode your bike until the street lights came on. You remember your first kiss and didn't tweet about it. You sat at the dinner table with family. It was different, right? Simple. Meaningful. Personal. Yours.

You're a little worried about your kids' future. You question if you're interacting with them enough or teaching them the right lessons to be kind, successful and respectful. You're not alone.

If you're like my wife and me, you're not considering permanent off-the-grid family living, but it does sound nice sometimes.

We decided to explore a change. Our decision to look for something "different" came directly following 3 extended family Thanksgivings, 5 family Christmas' and 2 New Years Eve's parties.

We booked a 6 week extended stay in Yelapa. We missed every winter holiday in the States. Wifi was spotty at best leaving us "disconnected" in this little village.

We didn't know what we'd find on this escape. After a couple weeks of "iDetox", it was clear. The "noise" was nearly gone. Hiking everyday, cooking food as a family, board games, relentless chess matches, so many card games that we made up our own, beach days galore, snorkeling, fishing, hidden beaches, waterfalls, new experiences, new friends... We were more connected with each other, ourselves and our environment than ever before.

Honestly, it wasn't easy, but it was worth it. Of course, we're back now and we have our "iTronics" nearby. But, we're different. We now know how to Reconnect!
