About this property
Dreamy, contemporary 3-bedroom country home in Sandgate - Great for families!
Charming, custom-designed three-bedroom chalet nestled in the foothills of Sandgate. Vaulted ceilings, expansive windows, open, flow-through architecture and clean modern lines accentuate the mountain surrounds creating a cool, yet cozy living experience. Freshly painted and refinished floors, plus new decking on each of three deck locations.
Enter by boardwalk over a wildflower rock garden canopied by twin junipers. The bespoke foyer offers ample storage and puts you in the middle of the multi level open floor plan.
A few steps up, you’ll find the primary bedroom with a private Juliet balcony opening out to forest and pond views, full bathroom adjacent. Also on the main level, appointed custom kitchen with all new appliances flows into an over-sized living room with mountain views. Two sliding glass doors access the newly rebuilt wrap-around deck to take in the mountain views, dine al fresco, and stargaze.
Down the hall, an expansive recreation room awaits with an OLED TV with Bose soundbar and sectional, desk for remote work, extra sleeping space, and another deck off the back through the French doors. This room can be reconfigured to accommodate yoga/dance or other retreats, games, or events. Just ask!
On the lower level, you’ll find two bedrooms with ample sleeping options, a full bathroom, and small children’s play area with a library and games. This is a very unique, artistically-designed home.
WiFi is available throughout the home and a washer and dryer on premise. Kitchen is stocked with small appliances such as rice cooker, toaster oven, crock pot, coffee/espresso, citrus juicer and blender.
Private hiking/snowshoeing trail throughout the 15-acre property and space for lawn games.
Come discover the tender majesty of Sandgate!
Other things to note:
About Sandgate: “You can’t get there from here!”
Sandgate is not a pass-through town but an appointed destination. It is a rural experience, located in a gorgeous mountain valley along the pristine Green River, with beautiful farms, rolling hills, and mountain surrounds.
Amenties and attractions: The Wayside General Store is close by and stocks many basics local goods. A 10 minute drive along the Battenkill River (go fishing! or swimming or kayaking!) will bring you to Arlington village with many adorable options such as dining at the Inn or playing pickle ball on the new courts, visiting the library. There is a Stewart’s gas station, a general store and liquor store in town as well.
Another 15 minutes (25 total from the home) will bring you to Manchester for great shopping and awesome dining & entertainment options. The Hildene Estate and Earth Sky Time Community Farm are particular draws. Skiing is 35 minutes away at Bromley and Magic and 45 minutes to Stratton. Shaftsbury and Bennington to the south also offer wonderful hiking, biking swimming, shopping, and dining options.
WiFi: Home is equipped with high-speed fiber optic internet throughout. There is also a wifi signal down the hill at the Town Hall in case of weather-related outages. There is no cellphone service.
4 Wheel drive recommend in winter & mud season.
