About this property

Sunrise Mountain Cabin is a lovely cabin at about 2,016 foot elevation with a great view of the valley. The cabin has approximately 1,400 square feet and is furnished with everything you need. Hiking trails and fishing pond only a short walk away. We have 12 state parks within 25 miles of our cabin. The Caverns, which often hosts concerts, is about 20 minutes away. Each season has its own beauty. Come and experience them all. The cabin is decorated for each holiday. Bring your ATV as there are many trails all around the cabin. When booking, please let us know a little about your stay. Are you bringing pets? Children? How may guests will be with you? Do you have special needs? Relaxing Stay

This is a beautiful, well stocked home away from home! We went to a concert The Caverns, and this mountain cabin was a short 30 minute drive! Thank you for sharing your home!!

Cozy stay with a stunning view!

Great Getaway!

Great cabin for a weekend getaway from Nashville. The cabin was adorable, very clean and cozy! We plan to come back when we can stay a little longer! I do recommend stocking up on supplies before heading to the cabin, as the closest store is about 6 miles away.

I’m understand why they call it Sunrise Mountain Cabin! 😁 The sunrise was perfection. Absolutely stunning! The kids really enjoyed the home feeling cabin and the porch swing! Only thing I’m disappointed about is only staying for one day! Highly recommend!

Absolutely stunning view!

We loved our stay here! The house was very comfortable and nicely decorated. The porch swing and view from the porch was gorgeous! The only problem we ran into (which wasn’t much of a problem since we were only there for one night) was these little beetle looking bugs that we kept finding in random places in the house. We mostly found them on the walls and on the curtains. It did rain the evening we were there so perhaps they were just making their inside to a dry spot, who knows. But other than that, we had a great stay here!

Stayed with friends to attend a concert at The Caverns (32 mins away). Place is a nice and clean with wonderful view from back deck.

quiet and peacefull

Nice cabin with a long range view . Be aware the driveway is steeper than it appears in the picture , if you are driving a motorcycle or low ride car . Handbook on cabin and area around was by far the best of anywhere i have stayed . I would have no problem staying again.

Very cooperative

We were supposed to stay at this house one night and another the next due to limited vacancies. The other house had an unfortunate plumbing issue which required us to search for another place to stay. This required us to rent for 2 nights instead of one. The owners were willing to work with us and refunded our money. We were very appreciative and we plan on visiting this cabin next time.

Perfect get a way!

Definitely had a great experience. The owners had GREAT communication and the cabin was lovely. Lots of unique decor throughout the cabin and I enjoyed reading the notebook that was left to read. I forgot to sign the guestbook but I will be back again to do so! Of course the view was AMAZING and we loved the board games they provided! I was able to wake up and make breakfast with all utensils needed. Very clean as well!!

Amazing place

David and Kimberly have thought of everything that may be needed during our stay. They were extremely informative of local areas for shopping and recreation. The cabin was appropriately furnished including extra linens, utensils, and games. We will definitely return on out next visit to Tennessee.

Great Weekend Getaway

Adorable - cabin with an amazing view. Just minutes away from several of South Cumberland (?) hiking trails. Inside was spacious and clean. Check in and out was effortless . Thank you for a great stay!

Amazing view, right off the deck of cabin

This amazing property is located upon a mountainous area and has a beautiful view of the mountains right from.the cabin. The cabin is clean and beautiful inside and out. This property has a nice wrap around deck with a swing facing the beautiful mountains behind the cabin. This cabin is located within a short drive to numerous State parks to hike. I would highly recommend this cabin, as it is a very beautiful and quiet place to stay.

Got up early to watch the Sunrise wonderful

They did alot of work making sure all your basic house hold needs are met They also spent the time to list out adventures for you to go on nearby and at a distance. Wonderful stay. Bring what you need for food - stores are a bit of a drive. We did find a local who sold fresh eggs for $2. Doz

About the host

We both love the country life. We love the quiet and the cooler temperatures of our mountain home. We live only about 300 yards from the cabin further down on Gap Road. David is originally from Indiana, graduated from Indiana University, and consults for ExxonMobil on international projects. Kim is originally from Louisiana, graduated from Southestern LA. University and retired from the U.S. Navy as a Chief Petty Officer. Together we have 4 sons, all grown, and 3 grandchildren. We are Christians and highly involved with volunteer activities.
Our hobbies include playing the guitar and piano, astronomy, family history and sports of all types. We really love watching football and basketball.

We enjoy going on ATV rides behind our home. The trails are intermediate in difficulty. Bring your ATV plenty of trails for you to explore. We also enjoy working in our yards. We love boating and Wood Reservoir is approximately 20 miles from the cabin. It is a lovely reservoir good for fishing and water skiing.

We hope you will visit us soon and experience the mountain life for yourself.

The cabin has a view that is breath taking. Several state parks are within a few miles of the cabin with loads of hikes to choose from. So many activities so close to our cabin. You will love our Sunrise Mountain Cabin.

What makes this property unique

The cabin comes with everything you need for an enjoyable stay.
The kitchen has appliances, dishes, utensils, and is ready for all sorts of cooking if you desire.
The cabin has cable TV and Firestick if you have an Amazon account as well as a BluRay player and DVD's for use.
We provide High Speed WiFi as the cabin is hooked up to fiber optic internet service. A house phone is provided as well as a washer and dryer. There are 2 tables to eat from, one large dining room table as well as a smaller kitchen table which faces the view.
There are 2 queen sized beds in the loft area. The cabin has a propane gas grill for cooking your favorite dish or steak.
We provide books on Tennessee and the area for reference. There is a house manual and reference book with details on the area, shopping, eating, hikes and all you need to know to enjoy your stay.
And in the yard, we have a small fire pit for when you want to fix those Smores with the kids or as a kid!
The cliff area at night has the most wonderful view of the stars, and many of our guests take the lawn chairs down to the cliff at night and just sit and watch the skies. Perfect for anyone with an interest in Astronomy. Last, it is peaceful and quiet.
