This property has more stairs than visible/listed on the website. It is not suitable for seniors

The call from the owner was friendly and informative. However, that one window wood not close from the inside, that the BBQ elements were rusted, that there were that many stairs was not mentioned. Not the owner's fault: the younger generation of neighbors were at times intrusive and noisy, the flies in the beach were biting. The water was lovely but water shoes are essential. The sunsets are to die for. Nearby Goderich had lots to offer.

Small rustic cottage overlooking Lake Huron

Partially renovated tiny cottage in the trees, part way down a steep slope to a rocky/sandy beach. Be prepared to climb a lot of stairs to get to the parking area, its a workout! The cottage has lots of windows making it quite bright. Bedrooms are small (no doors) open onto a charming living space. Suitable for 1 couple with child (3+years), or 2 couples who don't require a lot of privacy. Currently no indoor dining, however there is a large table on the deck as per photos. Stunning sunsets can be viewed from the beach.

Nice beach, overpriced

The beach was lovely. The sound of the waves audible in the cottage was my favourite thing. We enjoyed the peace and quiet and did a lot of reading. Unfortunately many things detracted from enjoyment and we left early. When inquiring, we asked for additional photos, but none were provided. We should have been able to see pictures of the bathroom with its tiny shower stall and different angles of all the rooms. At a glance, the tidy furniture, whitewashed pine etc creates a pleasant atmosphere, rustic but nice. Some negatives: the drastically sloping floor (doors don’t close), grubby doorframes, greasy windows, broken mini blinds, many dead outlets and lights inside and out that don’t work, rusty shower, rickety stairs down to the cottage and to the beach (we were warned about numerous and perhaps steep stairs, but expected them to be more stable with sturdy rails on both sides), an awkward kitchen with its nearly inaccessible microwave and worst of all the composting toilet. We were warned about its understandable challenges but things could be done that weren’t (a truly clean toilet and waste bin, having a tp holder, air freshener etc). If it had been warm enough for swimming, we might have noticed these things less. Also the No Dogs rule seemed unreasonable since the hosts clearly bring theirs. The owners seem like nice people who want to be great hosts. We think they’re charging too much under the circumstances.

A perfect getaway!

This cottage vacation was absolutely breathtaking. From the blue water to the quiet peaceful porch overlooking the water. We couldn't have been any happier. This cute renovated cottage was perfect for us. We weren't missing a thing. Vince the host was an absolute pleasure to deal with from start to finish. We can't wait to vacation here again soon.

Cosy, comfortable, well situated

The cottage is very cosy and comfortable with everything you need including great water pressure and hot water. It's close enough to town that you can get whatever you need without going far but far enough away from town that it really feels like a you're out in in the countryside which I really wanted. Also, the mattress was firm and felt new. Vince was a great host, check-in was very easy. Would definitely go back.

Perfect Lake Huron Retreat

The cottage was very comfortable and provided all that we needed. The deck, surrounded by trees, felt like being in a tree house with a beautiful view of the lake. The muskoka chairs awaited us on the quiet beach. Our last swim of the day was before sunset which we enjoyed seeing each evening. We had such a wonderful time that we didn't go anywhere except one morning to Zehr's market near Bayfield to purchase one of their heavenly pies. This is a place we definitely intend to return to!!

Great Stay!

My friends and I stayed here for 6 days at the beginning of July. Vince was amazing, he came to the property to personally check us in and show us around. He was always available to text or call if we had any questions or problems. The place was clean, tidy and had everything we needed - he even set up a little welcome gift for us when we arrived :) Thanks for everything Vince!

Great getaway

Wonderful spot for a secluded holiday. The cottage is thoughtfully equipped and stylishly decorated. A couple of extra lights needed in the kitchen for late night forraging, but otherwise flawless. Travel light because the steps leading to this lovely spot are daunting if you forget something. Once you're there, you just want to stay!

Great experience

The place was great, and as-advertised. Very nice layout, in good shape and spotless. The only negatives were outside the owner's control - super high water meant virtually no place to sit near the water, and while we were able to swim one evening, most of the time the waves kept us out. All in all, however, a really nice place. The owner was easy to communicate with and the check in and out were seamless. Thanks again!
