We've stayed in this house a few times, both during the summer and winter. It's clean and cozy, and a perfect location for anything you want to do in Duluth. This December trip to visit Bentleyville was cold, very wet and cloudy, but it's always a delight to be so close to Lake Superior!
Property is well kept with great view of lake and shipping arriving and departing Duluth harbor. Owners communication with guests is very good. Location is convenient to downtown Duluth.
This place is wonderful! It was clean, comfortable and easily accommodated four adults. It was stocked with everything we needed. We were up for a family wedding in downtown Duluth and it was a short drive away. The weather was beautiful and we spent time on the deck, the sandy beach and swimming in Lake Superior. We walked the beach to the lift bridge and happened to see the Viking cruise ship as it was leaving port. It was a great long weekend and we would definitely stay again!
We had a wonderful time! The house was clean, comfortable and more that enough room for thee 3 of us. The backyard was under renovation, but was no bother to us. The owner came by and explained what was going on and asked when he could work on it. The renovation made beach access much easier and made it really easy to enjoy the view from the kitchen. This house is easily walking distance to the lift bridge (about 5 min). The beds were very comfortable. There is public beach access nearby but it wasn’t overly crowded even with festivals and hot weather in the area. A++ we will rent this place again!
This house is a clean, well maintained and throughly updated home, with a deck and private yard , that is steps away from the beach and Lake Superior. I can look at the ever changing lake just over the fenced in yard in the kitchen and from the upstairs bedroom. I love to open the bedroom windows in the living evening and listen to the waves lapping the shore. We have enjoyed 4 yearly visits with out grandchildren . The beach is so safe with extended shallow water to play in.
One of our most favorite places we’ve ever stayed!
Having a place to call “home” in Duluth is pretty special. This property has everything you would ever need with tons of little “extras” but the real draw is the location and the view. Enjoying morning coffee on the back deck with a full view of the sun coming up behind ripples of waves washing up on shore, dishes and making dinner with a view, relaxing in a clawfoot bathtub (with a view) after a full day in the cold lake…it’s just so wonderful. We’ll be back over and over again. Thank you!
Overall the vacation home was excellent. The lake is visible from inside the house and on the deck. It was so relaxing to sit on the back deck and enjoy the sound of the waves and watch the ships. The walk to Canal Park was easy and relatively quick.
We also had a great view of the fireworks on the 4th of July, right in the front yard.
The one minor drawback for us was the amount of activity/traffic coming in and out of the parking lot for park point beach. But that won’t keep us from booking again!
We are originally from the area but moved to NC so we needed a place to stay for Grandma's Marathon weekend. The house was clean, had everything we needed, and was in perfect walking distance to canal park and the DECC. Heather was very good at communicating. The views out the kitchen window were beautiful and it was great having the beach access right next to us. Another perk, for my daughter, was having the playground right across the street. We would definitely stay here again!
This was our third or fourth time at this property. So nice to be familiar with whats there and what to bring. Weather was perfect and walks on the beach were so nice. Tried some new restaurants and some old favorites. Have a list of where we want to eat and visit on our next visit.
We had a wonderful time in this house enjoying its location on the beach and close to canal park. The owner was very easy to communicate with and the house had everything we needed. We would definitely stay here again!
Everything about this stay was good from the moment we walked in & saw the incredible view up to the day we had to leave. The house was clean & comfortable. Kitchen was well stocked & had nice appliances. Bathrooms also well stocked & the downstairs shower with the extra jets was awesome. The bedrooms were quiet & comfortable. We used the fireplace in the living room each night. The deck in the backyard was nice in the morning with the sunshine. Great proximity to the lift bridge & across to Canal Park where we watched several ships coming & going. Would definitely return for another stay!
We had a wonderful stay. The Beach House was immaculately clean and had everything we needed. Communication was quick and helpful (the owner stopped by to drop off new batteries for a smoke alarm when notified it was beeping.) We spent loads of time on the beach and walked to the lift bridge to view ships coming into port. We also enjoyed a Fooseball/Air Hockey tournament before we left and made many wonderful memories with the kiddos!

Steve and I (Heather) have lived in Duluth for the past 25 and 20 years, respectively. We call it home now and have a tough time seeing ourselves living elsewhere. Lake Superior has a draw and we've been mesmerized since moving here. We both love the water and spend a significant amount of our free time walking the beach, stand-up paddle boarding, kayaking, surfing, canoeing and fishing. We love this area and always look forward to coming home when we've gone on vacation.
What makes this property unique
You'll have direct access to the largest freshwater lake in the WORLD (Lake Baikal in Russia is largest by volume, Lake Superior is largest by surface area)!
You are 5 blocks away for the farthest inland port in the world.
You are 5 blocks away from one of the largest lift bridges in the United States. There you can view Ocean and Great Lake ships from less than 100 feet as they enter and leave the port.
Minnesota Point is surrounded by water and the Aerial Lift Bridge is the only point of access by land. You are essentially on an island!
