Beautiful chalet on acres of land

Myself, husband, and dog enjoyed our weekend stay at the chalet after the busy holidays. Upon arrival we were greeted by Evan, who explained the property and gave us his contact for anything we may need during our stay. We did reach out for more firewood for the wood burning stove and he was there immediately with another bundle for us. We used the wood-burning stove and it kept the entire place warm. The chalet was absolutely beautiful, loved the open concept. We enjoyed the foosball table and chess board. Loved the big tv and the WiFi was excellent. We researched some restaurants and places to eat before heading up there. However, after arriving and seeing how cozy it was, we decided to stay in and make all of our meals here. The chalet was stocked with all the essential items (paper towels, coffee, seasoning, eating utensils, pots, pans, etc.) We went in town to The White Market and grabbed all of our groceries for the weekend. The market had everything you could need. If you like walking and exploring this place is for you. We took our dog walking along the marked trails. We stayed in December and we were very thankful there was plenty of snow. We love hiking in the fall and winter so this was perfect for us. We would absolutely stay here again, highly recommend.

Wouldn’t be back

First the positives: It seems that the lodge was converted from a mill; the old pipes on the ceiling give it a character. Evan was quick to respond to our questions. The property ground is vast; it must be beautiful in the summer. Things that didn’t sit well with us: There is a ‘private office’ at the basement connected to the kitchen area of the lodge. People came in and out of the office, run machines (when I inquired about it, evan explained that they had laundry machines there) even in the evening, we didn’t appreciate it and the fact that it was not mentioned on the listing. The heating system is inadequate to heat up the entire place with a full open floor plan in the midst of the winter. What is worse was the owner’s attitude when we inquired about the heater to be able to take a shower in the morning of our departure. He blamed us for breaking the heater and backed down when I told him that the only thing we did was to press on the temp increase button and that an hour later the temp increased by 1 degree. The shower is so small that I could hardly wash my body and I am petite. There are no shades anywhere on the 1st floor including the door. Dressing up after shower in the relatively warmer area in the living room rather than the colder upstairs bedroom was a challenge.
