A week in the Yellow Cottage
Delightful cottage in the heart of Downtown Camden! Everything was in the cottage that you could want: air conditioning, heat (from 2 darling electric fireplaces), nice pool in the main house across the parking lot, 2 large tvs, full, though small, kitchen. Just perfect for a couple!

More like “glamping”
Pros: Location: walking distance anywhere Breakfast: pretty good for 3 star hotel Dog friendly, nice views to the river below Safe neighborhood DVD library available Cons: Was somewhat dirty and neglected; Found spiders all over; Kitchen cabinets didn’t close shut posing a risk and should have been fixed beforehand; garbage bags not provided; Dish soap not provided; Extremely small hot water heater: can’t take a shower for more than 5 minutes; Stains on “clean dishes”; corn webs; bedroom door doesn’t close well. The place from outside looks charming but the atmosphere inside is more of a rustic utility shed converted into a “cottage”. Awkward if not unsafe power lines, dated amenities, and overall run down. One chair wasn’t very stable! The only saving grace was the town itself. Management refused to compensate for the very low standard accommodations when complaints were formally made by phone and in writing. There was nothing to “fix” per se. We felt uncomfortable. Place is overrated and the cost is a total rip-off. We enjoyed our stay because of the good food around and the many attraction but the accommodation itself was disastrous. My husband and I ran out of hot water twice. We ran into debris on the floor often. The lights were weird and somewhat difficult to figure out... If you expect a clean and neat place, this ain’t it. It’s basically one level up from camping. We are sorely disappointed and have no intention to return!

Never again
There was no TV, service was apparently not connected. Internet failed second day, electrics must have been a fire hazard, hair dryer not working, kitchen utensils dirty and inadequate, outside grill rusty and unusable. There was no wardrobe, the furniture would have not have been accepted by a charity shop and the outside grill was rusty and unusable. We have photos if you wish to see them.

Perfect spot in central Camden
Perfect spot for our family of 4. Full kitchen with full size fridge, stove, oven, microwave & toaster are great. The location is amazing in downtown Camden with free parking. The gardens with beautiful flowers and vegetables add to the cute space. The ice cream spot just over the foot bridge is delish!

Perfect location
We loved this place! It was perfect for two of us for a romantic pet friendly get away. The location is amazing!! One block from the marina and a few blocks away from the Mount Battie Trail head. There is a great little porch over the river with a grill. Very relaxing!!! We will be back!

Great Getaway
We had a very enjoyable stay. Everything was neat and clean. Everyone we dealt with was very nice and helpful. It was a little different in some ways in that it appeared to have been converted into a cottage but we enjoyed the location and had everything we needed. There were just two of us. The dedicated parking spot right at the cottage was very nice. Extremely easy access to the main part of town but out of the way. My wife and I both thought that the garden and flowers all through the parking area made for a great setting and you can even pick any ripe vegetables for your consumption if you so desire. We left planning to visit the area again for a longer visit and will definitely be looking to see if this is available.

Affordable downtown stay.
The cottage can hold two to four people with different levels of comfort depending on that number. We were three and much of what I have to say would *not* apply if only two people were involved. Keep that in mind. For three people it is a great place to sleep and wash up, but not much more. It was a bit cramped with luggage and three bodies. There is a deck, and what hanging out was done was mostly done in bed or on the deck, which, really, was not a hardship. The small kitchen is adequate for making coffee in the morning and reheating leftovers. But it is so small, and they've packed so many appliances into it , that there is no real counter space. On the flip side, there is a full sized fridge and freezer. So, if you have milk, beer, wine and other things that you want to store in it, you're all set. There's also a grill which appears functional, although we did not use it. I think this would be an ideal setting for a couple.

Cute, but not comfortable.
We loved the location and the little porch right over the water and falls but my husband and I were disappointed with the discomfort of the bed. One of us had to use the sofa because it was too uncomfortable fitting 2 people on the bed. Also, there was a bad odor that I thought might be from a cleaning solution but my husband thought came from the air conditioner. The toilet was very touchy with running too long or not flushing easily. The main hotel was very nice and accommodating.

Why they chose this property

Like all towns, Camden has a parking problem but for those staying at the Ordway Cottage, you have your own on-site space. Camden is known for it's beautiful harbor and mountains. Restaurants and shops line the streets and after a day of sailing, hiking, and sightseeing, you are right in the center of town. No driving needed. Camden is a 4 season town with skiing in the winter. The cottage is available in winter as well.

What makes this property unique

This is a one story cottage right in downtown. No hassles with parking and the RiverDucks ice-cream stand is your neighbor. The cottage is air-conditioned for those sultry August nights and heated for windy cold winters. Ideal location that can't be beat! Dogs are allow with prior approval.
