Mountain Music #19

The cabin was absolutely gorgeous and had all the amenities you could ask for. The hot tub had to be the best! The coffee maker has a funnel style brewing basket so you will need to get those type filters. The driveway is a little scary because it’s like a drop off, but after your first time down it, it’s not so bad afterwards. There’s no cell service, but it’s kinda nice because no one can bother you with calls or messages. There is Wi-Fi, but it’s not the best which is understandable because of the cabin location. The cabin is surrounded by trees and is just beautiful! I would totally rent this cabin again.

1st trip to the smokeys

Upon our arrival everything was great. Cabin was very nice. 2nd day the air condition went out. Temps that week were around 95. The property manager responded quickly and they put us in a different cabin for the night. The next night we had to move again to another cabin where we stayed 2 nights. Some of our party has mobility issues and did not want to move. And stayed in the downstairs bedroom. Of original cabin The air was finally replaced on day 5. The management provided us tickets to an attraction and to dinner. And found us cabins to stay in. We knew this was beyond their control but they did communicate with us and try to help us out. I appreciate that they did find us places to stay even though we had to separate. Not quite the vacation we had planned but we got through. We did get a bear on our deck one day. That was cool since no one was out there.

Won’t Come Again

Overall the cabin left much to be desired. Cobwebs and thick dust throughout, mildew and water damage is extremely evident not only by sight but also smell. Carpet, rugs and furniture were due to be replaced years ago. Craftsmanship was also lacking. Banisters and railings on stairs were not installed properly. Toe screwed to the floor and could have been pushed over very easily.

Could be better

Overall, property was OK. Location was great and we loved the wood burning fireplace. Unfortunately, we discovered a critter in the house which ate through our bananas. The internet was out and we reported to office but was never fixed. Some of the lights bulbs were out, TV did not work in one of the bedrooms and the pots and pans were a little rough. We have rented numerous times before and the pots and pans were subpar.

Three generation vacation

Wears Valley has been a good location for our family to vacation and this cabin fit our needs. With the self imposed limitations of Covid 19 we did not get out as much as usual but the location made it easy to get to the grocery, the national park and the few places we went. We enjoy cooking for ourselves but bring your favorite skillet (the one provided was ragged). Be warned that the Xplorie program only provides one adult ticket per 24 hours (even if you have booked 7 nights you may only use 1 ticket per day). The railing on the balcony overlooking the downstairs is loose in places so we kept a watch over the grandkids. Not the worst place we have rented, not the best but we had a good time.

Decent for a quick weekend stay.

Our stay included 8 adults. The bedroom rooms and common areas were pretty spacious. The kitchen was well equipped to cook meals for our weekend stay. The negative would be the heat didn't work on the first day. We had to call maintenance to bring firewood. It gets really cold without heat so be prepared. The living room furniture had a lot of wear and tear. There was also a lot of spider webs in the living room, bathroom, and around the beds. Also if you require wifi, stay elsewhere. It was really hard to get a signal.

Beautiful setting, roomy cabin

We visited Brother’s Cove in September for our daughter’s wedding. The cabin was set in the woods, so no Mountain View, but we did see a bear. The cabin was clean. The parking was a semi-circle on a slope so we had to play musical cars several times as we had a lot of family visiting for the wedding. That was truly the only negative. We would definitely stay there again.

Comforting

We booked this cabin for my parents for our wedding in June. They had a marvelous time. Their cabin was fully stocked with pots, pans, and everything else that they needed, the rooms and beds were wonderful, and their view was splendid and peaceful. They LOVED their stay!

Had a lot of great features.

We had an overall great experience in this beautiful retreat. The only complaint that we have is the fact that the TV was not working in our room and in the master bedroom the overhead light did not work. It was reported and the problems were addressed but never fixed.

A great experience!

We brought our adult children and their families, 12 of us all together, and we had a blast! There was plenty of room for all of us. Our grandchildren had so much fun playing pool and the arcade game. LOVED the keyboard and music supply too, what a neat "extra". The porch is amazing, such a great place to sit and relax. Such a convenience to have the washer/dryer tothrowour towels and suits in after being in the pool, my daughter-in-law even did a couple loads of laundry before we left so she didn't have to do it after the long drive home ! Itis nice to have the grills right outside the kitchen door too. We could have come down with only our clothes and nothing else, that's how well supplied the cabin was... And the drive into Pigeon Ford to get groceries is easy...once you get down the mountain! I have two suggestions and one criticism: 1. It would be nice to have rugs in the bathroom to step out of the shower. 2. The skillets in the kitchen are poor quality and need to be replaced. 3. And my only negative is regarding the cleanliness... There were cobwebs everywhere, dust and dirt on the walls, we moved the storage ottoman to retrieve an item that was fallen behind it and were met with junk, dirt, old pool chalk, etc. The steps from the porch down to the hot tub & fire pit, and the decks down there, looked like they hadn't been cleaned or swept in weeks. With the cost, plus a $200 cleaning fee, I was surprised to notice these things. But it wasn't enough to deter us from coming back... I will be making our reservations for next year today! We may try another cabin though, that will give us a better view. This cabin is surrounded by trees, with no view of the beautiful landscape! Thank you for a wonderful place to stay, we had so much fun "hanging out" at the cabin.

Mountain Music Cabin

The cabin was nice although it rained and the upstairs bathroom leaked.😦 We enjoyed our stay. Enough room for 10 of us to be comfortable.
