About this space
The Oak Meadows House is quiet and peaceful and just 45 minutes from Yosemite ‘s Arch Rock entrance station and 1 mile from the historic gold rush town of Mariposa.
It has an easy living, open floor plan with plenty of space for you to visit, enjoy meals together, or just rest up from your day's adventures.
Upscale, comfortable and clean, the Oak Meadows House exudes a relaxed atmosphere that will easily accommodate up to 6 people in 3 bedrooms.
You’ll enjoy great views from the outdoor patio.
The space
The Oak Meadows House is designed from top to bottom as a 'green' building.
Its passive solar design was built into the hillside with radiant floor heating and the electricity is provided by photovoltaics . The on-site well provides you with pure, sparkling clean water. (No need to bring bottled water)
Natural light fills the great room, providing an a wonderful environment for plants and people to thrive in.
The kitchen is large and well appointed with everything you need to create your favorite meals. If you like to cook, you’ll love this kitchen! The culinary herb garden provides additional fresh flavors to your meals.
There is a convenient recycling center in the kitchen, and the kitchen green waste are composted to improve the garden's soil health.

Recycled redwood was used to create shade trellises to mellow the summer sun on the east side of the house.
In addition to the three bedrooms, you'll love the "Getaway Room", a combination TV room, den, playroom, or simply quiet place for you read.
There is also a large office space available to keep up with responsibilities on your vacation as needed.

There are several day packs in the closet near the laundry room that you are welcome to borrow during your stay. (Please return them before you leave for future guests)

You can park up to four of your vehicles on the property.

Additionally, the Oak Meadows Guest House is a separate and private, one bedroom house that can accommodate two additional members of your party. Message us for Guest House availability if desired, during your stay.
Guest access
The entire house and surrounding property are available for you to enjoy. The separate Oak Meadows Guest House may be occupied by other guests, or occasionally the owner, Al.

Maintained trails right out the back door allow for short after dinner walks in nature.
Other things to note
Fires, both indoor and outdoor, are restricted during certain times of the year. If there is wood in the wood box, fires are permitted.

Pets are not permitted at the Oak Meadows House, with the exception of Service animals. Please notify us in advance if you are traveling with a service animal.

Smoking is allowed outside of the house in designated areas.
