Ark & Creation Retreat – For 12!

Summary:
Walton may be a small town, but that sure doesn’t prevent it from packing in an abundance of charm, history, and incredible attractions!

The Space:
Nestled amid the lush, rolling hills of the Kentucky countryside, you’ll find the perfect blend of tranquil landscapes and easy access to world-class experiences. Here at Ark & Creation Retreat, extended family or friends can get in on the fun as well, a spacious 6-bedroom home ready to host your next epic getaway.

One of the must-see destinations in the area is the Ark Encounter—a life-size replica of Noah’s Ark! This jaw-dropping structure, less than 30 minutes to the south, brings ancient history to life and offers interactive exhibits, live animals, and even zip-lining adventures. An equal drive to the north will take you to the renowned Creation Museum, where you'll journey through exhibits that explore the story of creation with immersive displays, botanical gardens, a planetarium, and petting zoos.

When you’re ready to check out life in the big city, Cincinnati is less than a half hour drive north where you can catch a sports game, visit a historical museum, book a tasting at a bourbon distillery, shop to your heart’s content, or plan evening meal at one of the eclectic local restaurants. If you prefer to stay a little more local, the city of Florence is the perfect in-between compromise, only 20 minutes from the home and offering its own desirable selection of shopping and dining.

The home’s bright and airy interior sets the perfect tone for relaxation and connectivity with loved ones, with all the modern amenities you’ve come to expect in a vacation retreat. The plush sectional is an ideal spot for a family movie night or bingeing episodes of all your favorite shows on the smart TV. Up in the loft, a more intimate entertainment experience awaits, where you can break out the board games or watch the movie of your choosing, while a dedicated workspace will help you keep up with work tasks. Back downstairs, the kitchen showcases stainless steel appliances alongside ample countertop space and cabinetry for preparing and storing all your snacks and goodies. In the quiet morning hours, brew up a fresh cup of coffee and take it out to the deck to soak in the fresh and sweeping views as you make plans for the day ahead.

This home is within easy reach of some of Cincinnati’s most popular attractions like the Bengals Stadium, Riverfront Park, and Great American Ballpark. Beyond this central area, there’s still so much more to explore. From Cincinnati’s street art revolution which has transformed neighborhoods with 180+ public murals, to its serious beer culture, revitalized historic neighborhoods with trendy shopping and dining like Over-the-Rhine, and authentic Art Deco architecture and design, this culturally diverse city is a can’t-miss destination.

Back on the Kentucky side of the river, you’re in prime Bourbon Trail territory. Check out distilleries and sipping points where you can sample Northern Kentucky’s bourbon, often paired with traditional southern foods. Ark Conference

House was located within a half hour drive to the Ark Encounter. It was very spacious and had plenty of seating for our group. It had plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms to accommodate our group.

Great big space for our family of 11.

We really enjoyed this newer rental. The house is large, and remodeled nicely!Plenty of room and seating areas for our whole family. Some things that would've been *nicer*- bath towels were hard, scratchy, and not the cleanest feeling-onky glassware, no plastic for the kids-no kitchen scissors, which, if you don't have scissors, you discover how often you need them-hot tub had some sandy dirt from the area around it, putting down something to cover the dirt would be helpful to keep the hottub cleaner-no book with instructions inside the house, there were several differing instructions sent through VRBO and other sources- no towel hooks, NEED towel hooks - garbage instructions said garbage is pickedup Tuesday, it's actually Wednesday I'm sure these kinks can be worked out, then it'll be a 5 star place!

Big family, week long stay

We enjoyed our time in Kentucky/Ohio. The house was clean, matched the pictures, and was very spacious. We enjoyed the large dinning room table for meals and games. The smaller table in the kitchen was also convenient. Sometimes when we stay places, even though they sleep lots of people, there isn’t enough seating at the table or on the couches and dishes run out quickly. That was not the case here, there was extra space everywhere and plenty of everything. We also really appreciated the hosts, Grand Welcome. They communicated clearly and were available immediately every time we needed anything or had questions. They were very accommodating and we were so thankful we booked with them.

Ark and Creation Museum family vacation

The check in process was great. Our door code didn't work but one phone call and the problem was corrected. There were some consumables provided by the VRBO, but things like dishwasher detergent and Kleenex were not. The consumables provided were enough to get us started, but we did purchase additional. The kitchen had a fair amount of cooking utensils and pans. There were no plastic dishes, and we had a 2 year old with us, so we did end up purchasing some toddler safe dishes. There were some discrepancies with what we were told. Our check in email told us garbage was collected on Tuesday, but it was not taken until Wednesday morning. The check out instructions were different in the email I received versus the text message. The area that this house was in is residential and very clean and quiet with a small playground about one block away.Overall, we would absolutely stay here again and it worked out great for our family of 12!

Clean, huge, well-managed property

We stayed here with our large extended family (adults, teens, tweens, and an infant) while visiting family in Cinci and the Ark Encounter. The property was immaculately clean and easily accommodated us all. Loved the loft area (allowed for multiple groups to be playing games / watching movies) and the huge table in the dining room, which served our large family well. The only knock was that we came across multiple maintenance items (filters needed replacing in the fridge, dishwasher wasn't mounted, faucet loose, etc.). The company was AMAZINGLY fast at responding to my communications about the issues and even got a team out the next day to tackle some of these. I'd recommend proactively checking their properties for these types of issues. Given how well they responded to my concerns when in there, I believe they will likely do so. Overall, excellent experience and I'd recommend it to anyone!

Ark Retreat - Great Place to Stay

Overall this was a great place to stay. My group and I booked this property as we planned a visit to the Ark Encounter and the creation museum. The location was fantastic as it was right in between the two major activities we planned with an estimated 25 minute drive to both. It was also around a 30 minute drive from the CVG airport which was also a plus. The property was extremely spacious since we were a group of 9. It had a great layout and thoughtful design and had just the right amount of accents to make the place feel cozy. We especially loved the dining room and all the common spaces and at the same time we enjoyed having our own spaces to go to once the activities of the days were over. The house was clean and well maintained. We loved the abundant supply of towels and the rooms themselves were large. The beds and couches were also comfortable which made for good rest and each room had a good supply of pillows. The check-in process was not as seamless as I expected. We arrived at 7:45am a day later and I was not made aware that the access code would expire. The main property management contact number on the door was no help and when I called directly the agents were not able to help as well. I called VRBO and their agent was able to help me. The cleaning fee seemed a bit high since we were instructed to start a load in the wash for the towels and do all the dishes. There was a dish washer but no dish washing pods. Other than that, the kitchen could use more items.
