Disappointing Stay Due to Poor Communication and Safety Concerns
Our experience with the property owner started off poorly when I requested check-in information. Unlike most Vrbo hosts, who typically provide details a day before or on the day of check-in, I had to reach out several times, receiving very poor communication from the owners. I was instructed to check the Vrbo app, but it contained no information. After following up, I was told to wait until check-in day, yet still received no communication. I had to contact Vrbo directly, and they eventually provided the access code, mentioning the "welcome book" for additional details—something that should have been communicated upfront. We did speak with one of the owners, who apologized for the poor communication, which initially helped ease the tension. However, this relief was short-lived. Once we gained access to the house, it was spacious, well-lit, and the kitchen was fully equipped, with a high chair for our baby, which I appreciated. But the layout was awkward—the second bathroom was distant from the bedrooms, small, poorly ventilated, and located next to the kitchen, making it uncomfortable and inconvenient. The biggest issue arose when we found broken glass under the couch, where our baby had been playing. Fortunately, I noticed it before my child did. Despite notifying the owner, we never received a response. Overall, while the house had its positives, the lack of follow-up after the glass incident, combined with the communication issues, made for a disappointing stay.
